Publisher's Summary

"Fred Berman returns to narrate the second in Rosenfelt's K Team series. Berman's regular-guy voice makes former detective, now private investigator, Corey Douglas a sympathetic character.... Listeners will hang on every word as Douglas and the K team unravel the case through their instincts, solid detecting, and illegal hacking." (AudioFile magazine)

The K Team is back in the second installment in this spinoff series from best-selling author David Rosenfelt's beloved Andy Carpenter mysteries.

Corey Douglas and his K-9 partner, a German shepherd named Simon Garfunkel, are recently retired police officers turned private investigators. Along with fellow former cop Laurie Collins and her investigating partner, Marcus, they call themselves the K Team, in honor of Simon.

The K Team’s latest case - a recent unsolved murder - gives Corey a chance to solve "the one that got away". Corey knew the murder victim from his time on the force, when he was unable to protect her in a domestic dispute. Now, he is convinced the same abusive boyfriend is responsible for her murder. With some help from Laurie’s lawyer husband, Andy Carpenter, the K Team is determined to prove what the police could not, no matter the cost. What they uncover is much more sinister than they could have imagined.

Known for his dog-loving stories and addictive characters, bestselling mystery author David Rosenfelt presents Animal Instinct, the second installment in this engrossing new series about a dynamite investigative team and their canine partner.

WOW

I always love David Rosenfelt's writing, but this is a bottom of the ninth, grand slam homerun to win the game. Suspenseful, and keeps you guessing right up to the last minute. I see award nominations.

Not Quite The Andy Carpenter Series but...

Good book and this series is getting better and better. Thought that it would never live up to the Andy Carpenter series but it is showing hopeful signs!

I was pleasantly surprised!

I didn’t think I would care for the reader or the or the way the story was being told! But.... I was wrong!! I loved it!!!

If only Rosenfelt could write faster!

I truly enjoy everything that David Rosenfelt writes. But I especially love the sarcastic witty sense of humor that is infused into the Andy Carpenter series, as well as this new K Team series. So many people whining about Grover Gardner not narrating this K Team series... I LOVE Grover Gardner's narration of the Andy Carpenter series. Seriously it is the perfect duo. He IS Andy Carpenter! I get it. would I enjoy this new K Team series better, if Grover Gardner were narrating it? Yes. I would. But not because Fred Berman isn't doing a FANTASTIC job! Its fine to prefer Gardner... but stop bashing Berman. It’s completely unfair. The only thing "wrong" is that he isn't Gardner. Give the man a break. It's a great performance. It's just not the familiar that we've all grown to love. Get over it! Or at least stop acting like a toddler who isn't getting their way. Can't wait for the next one!

Rosenfelt’s best novel yet

Compelling characters, case and conclusion! Simon’s human handler breaks out in a starring role while keeping Andy Carpenter on a short leash.

The K Team is Back !

Cory, Simon, Laurie, and Marcus are solving crime again. David Rosenfelt gives us another great detective team mystery with Courtroom drama and a K9 hero. I recommend this fast paced novel. Enjoy

“K” udos for another K Team mystery

Love this series as well as the Andy Carpenter series. My only complaint, as usual, is that they are all way too short! I listen to the audio books and Fred Berman and Grover Gardner are awesome.

Great Book!!

It’s one of those books that you want to drive around the block a couple more times to finish a chapter vs heading home!

So delighted for a perfect listen

This is the only author I actually wait for in terms of a new release, (& I’ve been reading fiction for 50+ years…). Thank you Rosenfelt!

Always a good story, with a twist. Told with humour and doggy love as well.
