It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

For eons, conquering dungeons has been the most efficient way to become a strong adventurer. Although not everything is as straightforward as it seems. Several questions have always plagued the minds of those who enter these mythical places of power: why are there so many monsters? Where do the amazing weaponry and heavy gold coins come from? Why does the very air fill with life-giving energies? Cal has all of the answers to these age-old questions, for a very simple reason. He is a Dungeon Heart.

Joe takes his first step into exile, and is promptly unable to breathe. This new Zone has a higher concentration of power, magnitudes denser. His first task is to survive, but mere survival is the least of his concerns. The Zone he has landed on has been in a state of constant war for thousands of years, a tug of war between the Elven and Dwarven societies. For more than 150 years I've served the Kingdom of Sena. Through four kings and a queen. Two wars and a rebellion. I've founded and taught at a magic school. I've fought against beast waves and dungeon breaks. But now? Now, the one close friend I had left has passed. So, I'm done with their politics and their economics. The short and busy lives of humans are more burden than benefit on the weary soul of this half-elf.

Tacked together parts of the last book and the next book.
While the overall storytelling and character development is just as well crafted as the previous two books, I was pretty disappointed by this one, but not because of any flaws with the story, writing or performance. The problem with this book is the plotting: the first half of it is really the last third of the previous book and the second half is the first third of the next book.
To be clear, the previous book ends on a cliffhanger in the middle of an epic fight for no apparent reason. The first half of this book is the conclusion to that fight. It feels like the authors are just trying to squeeze more credits out of us and chopping the books into smaller pieces.
The plot just doesn’t read like a volume in a series. It’s more like they wrote the entire series and then just chopped it into ten hour segments, rather than starting and ending the books at the places that the plot suggests.
I feel like this is becoming a trend in the newer fantasy genres, and I have to say I’m not a fan. If a book needs to be 16 hours, then that’s how long it should be... it seems like the authors are cutting 2 books into 3 installments just to make an extra buck.

As Good As the First Two
If you haven’t made it through Axiom and Alumni, do that first. If you haven’t read Divine Dungeon, do that before any of it. If you have done all that, then you already know what this series is all about and you know whether you want to continue. For various reasons, this book is extremely easy to spoil accidentally. All I’ll say is that this book has all the same stuff you love (or not) about the previous ones.

amazing series!!
The personalities of the charecters is amazing, they all seem extremely well thought out. I think this 3rd book got alittle bit muddled with all the plots going on at once, but that is my only complaint. Aurtorian is rad, and it really makes me want to listen to the whole DD series again.
there were quite a few hidden references, but I appreciated the nod to the Samurai Jack episode "Jump Good" the most.
Anyways, amazing series, I'm recommending everything divine dungeon to anyone who has the time.

Another strong entry in this series
As this is book three in this series, it would be a bad starting point for anyone that wasn't already invested in the series, the first two books in this series are both highly enjoyable and you would be advised to read those first if you haven't already done so.
This series in general and the main character in particular takes a somewhat different approach to the 'levelling' kind of process, Artorian's progression seems to be far more about him increasing his knowledge rather than simply being about the raw numbers of ranks or levels like many books in this genre and it works really well to produce an interesting character who could easily end up being overpowered if he was as singleminded about the numbers as other characters.
The narrator helps to bring the main character in particular to life with their performance that also delivers a distinctive range for the supporting cast too.
Overall, another enjoyable listen in this series and I can't wait to see where it goes next.

Another Gem from the Pair of Authors
If you have read previous works by Dakota Krout you will find the addition of Dennis to the mix of authors creates a very different personality in the writing style. This is great as Artorian the main character does have a very different view to all the other people in the Dungeons world. Now the character is fully established the book flows along at a rapid pace keeping up interest and developing another side to the Dungeons world. It helps explain more of the mechanics and background of how magic/cultivation works in the world and so really complements the group of stories as a whole. A must read addition to the “mountain Dale” world.

the Grandpa I wish I had
I read this books coz Artorian is the best Gramps ever! really all guys should have to read these books for additional Granpa awesomeness! too many books have young people as protagonists but I love that this is an old guy in the series and that he has things to overcome and does while making me laugh along the way. I have books 5 and 6 to go and I am going to parcel those books out sparingly like the good book contraband this is.
Travis is awesome in this book as well - I don't know how he does it - but he manages to embody all the books he performs in a way that doesn't remind me of the other author's books that he is narrating.

I can not wait! for the next book.
I'm a big fan of Dakota's other books but Dennis really brings out the philosopher in Artorian! and Travis baldree brings him to life.
I was really expecting this to be a 3 books and done with how the plot was going, but I guess I underestimated the amount of law for the divine dungeon series this was all going to add.
in short best storytelling I have heard in weeks..and I lisin to far to many books on the regular. really had me tearing up and skipping back to hear parts again with how perfect they were.
