There is simply something inside you that doesn't make you feel comfortable or simply doesn't make you as happy as you should be. This can also affect your child. Maybe he's too attached to you, so much so that he always cries when you're not around and can't tighten socialization in school or kindergarten and has too rigid behaviors or jerks of anger. Affective dependence is always a problem that, unfortunately, in our days is becoming more and more alive.

Story
In psychology, attachment theory explains adult relationships through the lens of parent-child relationships. According to this theory, we develop attachment patterns with parents and caregivers in early childhood that influence how we relate to others as adults. Your attachment styles can also determine the type of person you gravitate to in relationships, since you are looking to have your needs met in a certain way. This can sometimes result in destructive relationships if partners are unable to have their needs met in the way they prefer.

For Woman who have affairs w/Married Men
- By Sassylady on 08-03-21
Publisher's Summary
Millions of people around the world have insecure attachment styles. Anxious attachment is a common form of insecure attachment, and it creates worry and distrust in relationships. Twenty percent of all people have an anxious attachment style, which makes it hard for those people to build relationships that feel safe. When you have an insecure attachment style, you may tend to self-sabotage relationships, and you may feel unable to trust your partner’s love. You may think that you are never going to be worthy of another person’s love, and you worry that they will someday betray you. Those worries are based on the past issues that have taught you to expect certain types of treatment in relationships, and those expectations make you feel insecure and anxious.
This book will teach you:
- What anxious attachment means and how to tell if you have an anxious attachment
- The dating patterns that anxious attachment often causes and patterns that you can instill to overcome anxious behaviors
- How anxious attachment looks in relationships versus how secure attachment looks in relationships
- The nervous system’s role in your attachment style and how using the way your brain is wired can transform how you engage romantically
- Scientifically proven ways of resisting your insecure attachment style
- Dating exercises you can use to break free from some of the anxious thoughts that hold you back
- How to reshape your attachment style and rewrite the negative thought patterns that feed into that anxious attachment
- Ways to promote self-esteem, intimacy, and autonomy in your life so that you have more confidence and the ability to heal some of your self-doubts that feed your anxiety
- A logical approach to healing emotional wounds that lessen the joy you feel
If you have an anxious attachment style, you may struggle to believe you will ever be worthy enough for potential partners, and you may doubt that relation.

There are better books.
First, the voice acting sounds like it was done by a computer. Has strange pauses and emphasis the way Siri/Alexa do. So distracting. And second, the author is not a doctor. Just repeating psychological research but without the expertise to interpret it. Try reading the book Attached or the book Insecure in Love, instead.

Great Primer and Self-Help Resource
With a background in communication and psychology, plus a curiosity for how people relate to themselves and others, I’ve read lots about attachment styles and run workshops enlightening others to the power of understanding ourselves and others, with an eye towards stronger communication. This book serves as an excellent addition to the library of someone looking to understand their own patterns and challenges in easy-to-understand terms and analogies. Organized to provide a foundation of understanding before exercises and application, the book allows the listener/reader to see the context in which the suggested exercises come to light, adding depth to their use. Through focusing on presence and self reflection, the text allows the reader to reflect on both their own behavior and that of others to tease apart areas where changes can be made, leading to stronger relationships and a sense of self.

A well written book, on a fascinating subject
The author has clearly researched this subject well and the book is well written and sympathetic to the reader. A fascinating subject that I have been researching in order to better discover how I navigate my own emotions when connecting with new romantic partners. Unfortunately the audio version is narrated by what appears to be a very robotic sounding voice which I struggled to engage with, but the text itself is really impressive.

Free yourself in relationships
An excellent breakdown of how past experiences cause emotional triggers that then affect how you behave in relationships. I think we also to some great or lesser extent feel some kind of anxiety or have done and as I was reading through the book I could recognise some of the symptoms I've felt in the past and the solutions to how to change your mindset and break out of bad thought habits was straightforward and easy to implement. A fantastic read!
