Publisher's Summary

Beloved and best-selling author Debbie Macomber returns with a powerful stand-alone novel about a woman forced to start her life anew, embarking on the most courageous journey of all - to a place where she learns what love and trust really mean.

Shay Benson adored her younger brother, Caden, and that got her into trouble. When he owed money, Shay realized she would do anything to help him avoid the men who were threatening him, and she crossed lines she never should have crossed. Now, determined to start fresh, she finds herself in search of a place to stay and wanders into a church to escape from the cold.

Pastor Drew Douglas adored his wife. But when he lost her, it was all he could do to focus on his two beautiful kids, and his flock came in a distant third. Now, as he, too, is thinking about a fresh start, he walks through his sanctuary and finds Shay sitting in a pew.

The pair strike up a friendship - Drew helps Shay get back on her feet, and she reignites his sense of purpose - that over time turns into something deeper, something soulful, spiritual, and possibly romantic. Even Drew's two children are taken with this woman who has brought light back into their lives. Perhaps most important, Shay learns to trust again as she, in turn, proves herself trustworthy to her adopted community.

But Caden's return to town and a disastrous secret threaten to undo the life Shay has tried so hard to rebuild. It will take the utmost courage and faith if she and Drew hope to find healing and open their hearts to a brighter future.

Joyfull

Very glad I chose this wonderful, clean and inspirational book. I've read other books by Debbie Macomber and it was a predictable ending as I was able to figure out "who did it" but what a refreshing story. As a Christian I plan on reading more books like this one. Thank you Debbie, I was filled with joy reading this book, I did not want it to end!

One of her best. Excellent

Now this is Debbie Macomber at her finest! A wonderfully told story of faith, second chances, love and loyalty. I’ve read maybe 50% of her books and this is one is at the top of the list with the Blossom Street series. 😃

GOOD STORY...NARRATION JUST OK!

I'm a religious person but this was just a little over the top for me. The story was good but didn't get REALLY good until the last hour when somewhat of a mystery came into play. As for narration, it was hard to know who was speaking if you weren't paying close attention. It wasn't terrible but I've heard better. Regardless, it still deserves a 4-star across the board.

Any Dream Will Do

Loved the story. Great heartfelt messages throughout. I found personal encouragement. The narrators were great and I will look for them in other Debbie Macomber stories.

The story is wonderful …

…the female narrator not so much. This would be a better story if reading the book and not listening to it. The narrator was very clipped—like the guy on dragnet. I almost stopped listening a couple of times but decided to muddle through it because I like Macomber’s books. I’m glad I stuck with it, but I’ll avoid books with this particular narrator.
