Publisher's Summary

From USA Today bestselling author Penelope Bloom comes the first novel in the romantic, sexy, and hilarious Anyone But… series.

Seven years ago, my best friends and I made a promise: No matter what, we would never date one of the King brothers. Even if they grew up to become megafamous, gorgeous, heart-stopping billionaires. Even if they crawled on their knees and begged for forgiveness.

But guess who just flew back into our lives in a private jet? And guess who just showed up to my job on my first day? Richard. King. Fortunately, it takes two seconds for Richard to reveal he hasn’t changed. Conceited. Cocky. Rude. Unfortunately, he’s also the kind of gorgeous that’s borderline offensive - with a jawline to make statues self-conscious and a grin that short-circuits my brain.

He’s spent years taking what he wants. I doubt he’s hungry for anything else - except me, apparently. There’s no way I’ll let him maneuver his way back into my life. My friends would never forgive me. I would never forgive me. But did I mention his jawline?

Just ok

Let me get this straight. These brothers are billionaires but Rich is afraid to tell his mother and father to f***-off and stop setting him up with women he doesn't want so he fakes a fiancée and wedding. He's a self-made billionaire there has to be some part of him that's alpha. The female lead kinda like her but she needs more backbone. Story was weak.

Just ok

This story had so much potential but it just never got there. It was super slow burn which isn’t my favorite but I can get past that because usually the characters are building on something. This wasn’t the case at all. There was no real build, they weren’t together and then they just were. No real development. Trust me, I’m not one of those people that gets mad when people fall in love quickly in romance novels. That’s to cause expected but this was just dry. And the end just seems rushed and weird. The last quarter of the book was just very awkward. Im honestly baffled that this book had so many positive reviews. The best part was the narrators. They did a great job which is the reason I finished the book. I wanna know Cade’s story but I can’t sit through another book if it’s like this one.

Predictable and juvenile

The performance is good, the story, however, is at best...horrid. Comes off as some high school melodrama with unbelievable characters.

Anyone But Rich is a boring book. I did not like the hero and heroine.
The story pace was too slow. I skipped many chapters .
I loved only the hero narration.

Enjoyable

No complaints on this one. Good story, narration was on point, and character development moved right along with the story.

It’s a NO

The story leave you to think and feel mostly agitation, irritation, and annoyance. The characters are immature, foolish, and just unsavory. Some stories are fun. Some are spicy. Some help you to “feel”. This one…. Did not need to be written. I read and listened through it and I didn’t feel anything remotely good, while reading. Mostly I just thought “wtf is wrong with these people. And why are they literally all written this way?” Didn’t learn anything. Didn’t enjoy it. It was pointless.

skip this one

this was the most boring read of the year thus far. I sat through 17 grueling chapters in hopes of liking it but after falling asleep throughout chapter 15 and grabbing caffeine, trying to give it another go, its time to give this up. have loved other books from this author but not this one... and I was so excited about this series. very disappointed.

So arrogant turns to so sweet.

The King Brothers, 3 brothers moving back to their small hometown after leaving and making a billion dollar company. They decide to make their headquarters in their hometown. Their parents are old money with prestigious reputations and expect their sons to settle for influence in a marriage. Moving back Rich (Richard) wants to apologise to an old school friend who he upset and let down and wants to make amends. She made a pact with her friends never to get involved with a King. well I finished it..

The first issue was the male narrator, no problem with his actual voice but when Kyra describes Rich's voice as deep and rumbling, this voice actor was absolutely nothing like that so that bothered me.
The next was the sheep incident and that is just appalling and criminal not funny.
I don't get the parents relationship with their sons. These are adult guys with loads of money, not even living off their parents wealth, they are wealthy in their own right and yet their parents travel with them and control their personal relationships? who would be interested in any guy who was still tied to his parents in that way...big turn off.
The reason for hating Rich. I think it was justified but then she starts making excuses for Rich's behaviour. Poor rich boy didn't want his friends and coach getting in trouble, she missed out on a scholarship and ended up being stuck in a small town with her horrible father for the rest of her life. Ruined her life is accurate. I would be mad as hell too. But she talks to him and then sees his point of view.
The wedding plan! Why didn't they run off to Vegas and get married? have the wedding hit the papers and be done with it. The elaborate scheme was completely unnecessary and made absolutely no sense.
Sorry but I just didn't enjoy it
