Publisher's Summary

After Jebediah Trapper completed the Impossible Tutorial (by cheating), the vet's been in something of a slump.

His PTSD is gradually guiding him down the path of self-harm. Crippled, stripped of his power, and homeless, he's got no reason to keep breathing.

Until a little girl is in trouble.

Love this series, great mechanics and sequel to the series

I’ve read this book because after listening to the first I couldn’t go to sleep without finding out what happened next. This is a great continuation of the series. I am anxious for the next book as I listen to this morning be again.

Great Addition to the series

People were upset with how the end of book one ended but I say it was a good thing. If the gods didn't take away his power imagine what could have happened if it was taken away in a crucial moment. Jeb is of course less powerful on paper but by the end he's almost back to his previous self and without any fancy system helping him. Plots are revealed secrets are hinted and we are left with a dark cloud on the horizon which may spell doom for all inhabitants of the world Jeb now lives in. Book 3 Sounds like it will be a blast. One way or another. Oh boy Oh boy . . . Oh boy . . . Oh Boy

another amazing entry

the story of Jeb continues. Steve has an excellent voice for this series and the world that we get dropped into is different than most others.

Amazing listen.

They struck gold again. I actually laughed out loud several times just like the first novel. The voice acting is superb, and the narrator really gives you a sense of emotions, and timing. Great job.

better than the first one

since our MC got nerfed hard in the ending of the book this book is much better paced as he tries to gather power again and get into contact with his old crew...
I loved the writing now that the powercreep has been lessened slightly...

Steve is amazing and I love how many destinct voices the man is capable of

Well writen and well delivered.

In a world where he's surrounded by people more powerful than him, Jebediah Trapper, need to use his wits more than anything to stay alive and save his friends. Well writen and articulated. A story for the ages.

Simply Great

I love this book for several reasons, but for the sake of a simple review I’ll just state what draws me in.

The MC’s thought patterns and problem solving is by far one of the most interesting and chuckle inducing styles I’ve heard.

Wonderfully entertaining

I got the first book in this series on a wim while I was waiting for another title. Definitely a jem. I love the way this story is told. Keeps you wanting more from start to finish.

Eh, too many loose ends.

Both books have suffered from a lack of explanations. The reader is just supposed to take what's happening at face value. MC reads a book. Scene fades to black. Next scene MC tries what he learned in the book. But the reader is never told what's IN THE BOOK! Both stories are riddled with these kinds of issues. It feels like we're only getting 75% of the story.

Keep'em coming!

Loved these 2 books so far. The length is ok too. I prefer 10+ hours but that's just me. The story line is good looking forward to what's going to happen next!

Creative world, level system and characters

Very solid continuation of the series.

If you like at bit more creative spice and variety to your LitRPG, this series really is for you.
The worldbuilding is wholly different from the first book, the whole system changes, but all pretty well done and very creative.

The MC is snarky but not insufferable, makes fairly level headed decisions but is not very lucky.
Plans are made and do not survive contact with reality, this keeps things interesting and keeps you rooting for the MC without feeling like very thing magically falls in either lap.

Wish the next book in the series was on audible

lit rpg at its finest

often the story falls flat after the first book, here it's just getting better.
it's realistically believable, it has great characters it has entertaining events all the way to the end.
and doesnt over endulge in power fantasy and fan service. just overall great for an adult/discerning listener.
narrator is also nailing it, will def look out for him in future

It's ok

While there were some really good moments I often found my attention slipping.

Overall good but not as good as the first book.

Causality = Plot Armor???

I don't know know why someone would end the book introducing the concept of causality, off handedly saying that Jeb will introduce a new God. When it implies that Jeb is basically untouchable until that happens. this undercuts his accomplishments and significantly downgrades the risks. While the deals he makes with the karma system are somewhat satisfying the constant allusion to the witch and the interference of the gods is kinda a drag on the story, while the story it self isn't really going anywhere as like in the first book the conclusion is half baked with sticky tape on the end, waiting to be connected to the third book.

tbh it's not even half a story as it requires knowledge of the first book and it needs a third to flesh out the story branches.

Great book great

This is a great addition to the series with some great twists and turns throughout the book. The characters were great and our MC saw how to grow without the system with all the struggles that intails. The voices were great and the editing was great too. Overall 15/15 get the book
