Publisher's Summary

The author Sri "M" is an extraordinary individual. His uniqueness lies not only in the fact that at the young age of 19 and a half, he travelled to snow-clad Himalayas from Kerala, and there he met and lived for several years with a "real-time" yogi, Babaji, but also that he should undertake such an unusual and adventurous exploration, given his non-Hindu birth and antecedents.

The metamorphosis of Mumtaz Ali Khan into Sri "M", a yogi with profound knowledge of the Upanishads and deep personal insights, born of first-hand experiences with higher levels of consciousness is indeed a fascinating story.

The bonus for those interested in the secrets of yoga, meditation, and sankhyan metaphysics is that Sri "M" is still living and easily reachable. He leads a normal life, married with two children, wears no special robes and conducts himself without pomp or paraphernalia.

Someone who met him recently said, "I expected a flashy godman and instead I saw a jean clad gentleman with a smile on his face, ready to discuss my problems. In five minutes flat, I said to myself, this is no ordinary man. The peace and tranquility that enters your system is tangible."

The book lacks description of end result

The book for some reason is more elaborate miracles, magic of different yogies. Would have been more interested on the journey or personal struggles of Sri M during the quest of self realization.

As interesting as Autobiography of a Yogi!

While this is the story of a Yogi's journey and I compare it to Autobiography of a Yogi, it's a very unique story with its own merit. An enjoyable and insightful read!

OMG! OM!!!!!

Just as inspiring and well presented as, Autobiography of a Yogi which is a classic in it’s own genre. Engaging spiritual experience so well-narrated! So thankful I discovered this quiet audiobook—inspiring & extraordinary! One of my best Audible decisions: entertaining and flowing like a spiritual river.....India as I never saw it while I lived six months in Goa and the West Bangal (Baharampur: home base) & Darjeeling. Love ❤️ this audiobook for it’s uplifting narration and without affectation! Lovely surprise—open your heart; open your soul at least for 10 hours!

I inhaled this book.

I could not quit listening to this book. It was truly amazing and I loved every second of it. I long to meet this author. For some of the seemingly strange portions of the book, I am thankful I was luckily prepped for, because my husband and I watch a lot of Gaia TV. So it wasn't too far-fetched for me. I hope he can come to the us one day. (My family is very concerned at thought of me going alone) In the meantime, I have got to read the rest of his written works.

Holy Men

This is a fascinating story of the life of a master, especially the later part of his life. I must admit that hearing the names of all the towns and holy men in his language was melodic but totally went over my head. Delightful listen.

If you don't already know the author, don't bother

Had high hopes that this would be a really interesting listen that exposed me to an unfamiliar world, but there's just not much story there at all. it's a disjointed series of people without background and events with insufficient context or description. Doesn't help that the reader rushes through.

Throughly entertaining and incredible.

Enjoyed it very much. Although the stories told do seem incredible - something very close to creative writing but the author believes it to be true. Did make me smile on reading the various incidents - ganga swamis, etc. Highly recommended read for anyone - not necessarily for people seeking the truth, but would be an enjoyable read for anyone really. Sincerely thank the author - Sri M for writing this - only wish the stories were trully real. Not saying they were not but our minds are creative and with a little help of ganga - there is no limit to what you see through your mind - although the author is not keen and does not encourage ganga but you were surrounded by people who partake and possiblly the lovely valley in the himalaya have natural ganga like effect when the flowers release their aroma. Ganga may also be used in the food - just a thought, but very much enjoyed the book. Once again thank you for writing - really wish the stories were true.

Boring..failed to live upto expectations.

I dont understand why the author made a non malayali read this book out..the pronounciation of malayalam words is horrible...and funny. The author himself should have read it out.Besides the story doesnt take u amywhere...heard 3-4rth and left it..could hold it anymore expecting something interesting to happen.
