Publisher's Summary

A New York Times best seller

In Arguing with Socialists, New York Times best-selling author Glenn Beck arms listeners to the teeth with information necessary to debunk the socialist arguments that have once again become popular, and proves that the free market is the only way to go.

With his trademark humor, Beck lampoons the resurgence of this bankrupt leftist philosophy with thousands of stories, facts, and arguments for anyone who is willing to ask the hard questions. He shows that this new, shiny socialism is just the same as the old one: a costly and dangerous failure that leaves desperation, poverty, and bodies in its wake.

Must-Read Book About Socialism

This is unlike any other socialism book available today, yesterday, or … ever. It's a totally unique take on the topic and provides a ton of excellent information, hundreds of footnotes, and lots of awesome jokes. This is perfect for young people in high school and college. Beck hits another home run!

Would be better as a hard copy.

Appropriately titled and what you would expect. Similar format to his book Broke. A fun informative read. Would be better as a hard copy to follow some of the statistics and I find it easier to see numbers on paper. Would be a perfect 5 if it had a PDF with some graphs and charts.

very approachable narration. loved it

As much as I liked the rhythm and pitch of the lecter, the passages in which Beck appears sparkled with energy. It left me wanting Glenn to read the whole book. The content is clear. I found it easy to grasp the différences between capitalism and socialism. Teenagers need to listen to this book

Great source of knowledge for intelligent debate

Even if you disagree with Beck's take, it is a worthwhile listen to hear a different perspective. If you do, however, believe that socialism is trying to muscle its way into America, Beck's easy to understand arguments and historical reference will help you debate even the most ardent socialist.

Logicalarguments, entertaining and Informative

The book was an easy read/listen. At moved along pretty well. It had a somewhat conversationalFlow that was somewhat question and answer. The arguments are well-thought-out and historically referenced extensively. Most questions and concerns brought up by the socialist Viewpoint are adequately answered and the author does concede several points on occasion in a fair manner. If you go into the book open minded and wish to look at the historical references will be quite informative, if you're unwilling to look at history or are close minded on either side then it could be either entertaining or and raging depending on your viewpoint.

I think anyone that truly open minded Li listens to the book will come away better informed and understanding of differences between socialism and capitalism and our current governmental andFinancial situation in the United States.

Another great work from Glenn Beck

A relevant topic for our times. The material is presented in a very straightforward manner that is incredibly easy to follow. As always, Beck has included his own brand of humor, illustrating absurdity by being absurd. I gave this 4/5 stars overall because I would have preferred Beck narrating most of this, rather than Jeremy Lowell. Lowell is good; but he is not Beck.

A conversation (real or faked) to cover both sides

In this book Glenn Beck tries to highlight what people who support socialism say and what they think about socialism. There is humor throughout with it being differentiated by Glenn read the author's notes and "A.D.D. moments".

My only critique is that there's not an included pdf of his sources with this audio book. It's not common but once I saw it done by Ben Shapiro I appreciate the ability to look up the sources. Glenn routinely says on his show and multiple times in this book to not take his word for it and to do your own research. Such a document would be greatly helpful and appreciated in that regard.

Should be required reading

This book should be required for high school economics. Too many teachers sell students on the “joys” of socialism. The author does a great job showing the failures of socialism and debunks a lot of myths about what is or is not socialism, i.e. Sweden.

Flawed in places but glad I read it. Well narrated

Compelling in places but lacking proper analysis of some topics, including climate change and single payer health care systems.
