Publisher's Summary

Dying sucks. Being reborn as a legendary hero, the only guy enrolled at an all-female military academy? Not so bad.

These gorgeous women say I’m destined to win the dragon war. They say I’m destined to save them all, and the world.

First, I'll need to upgrade my new body. To do that, I need to win every battle I can.

Because these beauties live by the sword. They fight one another for power and ranking in single combat.

The winners get amazing new upgrades, while the losers get picked apart for scraps.

Good thing I’m a winner.

Decent.

The book was great. With romance and the challenges it brings to those that start off opposite sides of a conflict. Though I was a little off put with how the chapters ended and started. No pause, just the last word and immediately the words chapter such and such. The chapters’ gravitas was stolen

Reminds me of rance

That book reminds me of the Rance games. It's pretty hilarious as long as you do not take it to serious. I didn't particularly like it until I looked at it like that. This isn't a slice of life build up your harem. It's Mc is a hilarious badass that can only win at everything especially b the ladies.

Megaman... for Adults!!!

I went into this without a whole lot of expectations. Simply looked entertaining.
Which is was. This has more of laid back, fun and rediculous feel to it. The MC seems kind of like a high schooler/new college student with how he is with his thoughts with women. it's a bit on the shallow side but he is who he is.

The robot battles are pretty cool and I was really glad they weren't just slugging matches! Torr brought in nuances and had the MC actually thinking about the fight, the disadvantage and advantages he did or didn't have.

I'm not a big fan of the constant arm cannon and hope he gets an upgrade that allows for him to change it into a normal hand.

I'm not really into the whole robot having sex with people aspect but the story was fun enough for me to look past it.
It's not the greatest ever but it was still entertaining.
I recommend it for any Megaman fans who would like to see a more adult version of it... 😉

Oh! There are dragons too! 😎

I'm thinking of getting robot legs....

it's a risky operation but it'll be worth it. this was a fun and good paced story. it was different than I'm used to but that's not a bad thing. narration was decent. worth the credit.

A good and balanced start to a new series

One of the things I liked most about the book was its pacing, you don't get thrown into the story and the world at large just as you start reading it. The events follow a slow start with a good rhythm and we actually get some worldbuilding (mostly local). There are a few inconsistencies in the narration sometimes, but nothing too obnoxious.
The MC (Xavier) actually knows what he wants and doesn't act like an insecure twat. The girls so far are interesting, especially Ash and Itrice (too adorable) and they don't shy from getting what they want. Tatiana will most likely become part of the pack as well, after she gets passed her tsundere moments. The other two human characters we meet were a bit too stereotypical, but they might work out in the future books. Besides the plot action we get some other "action" as well, although there could be a couple more scenes added for interludes.
The book could use a bit more editing, and consistency checks. Also the audiobook has some technical problems as well: there is no break between the last words of the chapter and the announcement of the next one; chapter 22 is also repeated at the end of chapter 21. (EDIT: this was fixed in the latest release)
The narration was also wonderful, each of the character voices felt unique in their own ways and it was very pleasant to listen to.
Overall I would say it was an enjoyable read, and although it can use some improvement, I do want to see what happens in the next books.

An interesting take

I haven't listened to an audiobook where the protag had to adjust to a new body after reincarnating. Only complaint is the heavy use of metaphors/similes, but still a solid story and I'd pick up the next one if it's made into an audiobook.

Couldn't make it past chapter 2

Sorry, but there's only so many times I can listen to man else call a women 'miss perfect tits' before wanting them to die. Don't mind haremlit, but Asshole MCs make it unlistenable.

Good book needs polish

loved the plot story and concept.... one issue there were waaaaayyyy to many equivalents and references. it seemed like every other sentence had to be compared to something else. it was frustrating but sill an enjoyable book.

A fun book to read

This is one of funniest books I've read in while. It's not often that you can find a story that has a matched storyline and narrators. The narrators sound as if they are truly enjoying their job on this one. That inturn makes for a great book.

well done! 5*****

Genos, Is that you?

First time listening to anything from Mark Torr and enjoyed the first book a lot. The MC is a hacker who is caught and killed after performing a job for a client and is given the chance from a mysterious goddess to be reincarnated into the body of a mech (Think Genos from One Punch Man) and he compete's against other students in the military academy to acquire upgrades to his body.

Hopefully there will be a second installment to this series as the first volume was very entertaining and want to see the MC continuing to upgrade his body and climb the ranks of the academy.
