Publisher's Summary

What do you say if a cop pulls you over and asks to search your car? What if he gets up in your face and uses a racial slur? What if there's a roach in the ashtray? And what if your hot-headed teenage son is at the wheel? If you listen to this book, you'll know exactly what to do and say.

More people than ever are getting arrested - usually for petty offenses against laws that rarely used to be enforced. And because arrest information is so easily available via the Internet, just one little arrest can disqualify you from jobs, financing, and education.

This eye-opening book tells you everything you need to know about how cops operate, the little things that can get you in trouble, and how to stay free from the hungry jaws of the criminal justice system. It is now updated with new and important information on the right of the police to search your car; on guns, knives, and self-defense; and on changes in surveillance methods.

Basic common sense information

I geuss there are people this dumb, but really basic information, like "if you run from police they will chase you. Dont start a fight with a police officer. Unfortunately there may be a few people out there that don't know this. Complete waste of time, not remotely interesting.

Great insight into law enforcement

Somewhat annoying at times, but the content is dynamite. Loaded with great insight into street level cops, their motivation and apparent conduct.

Ok boomer

Blindingly obvious information ... and sexist

For example, the author points out how women are mostly the ones funding the system because they are paying to get their boyfriends or sons or loved ones out of jail. Misses that 25 of our states imprison women at a higher rate than any other nation in the world. I came here for real legal information, not a lecture by my Grandpa using words like "busted" and blindingly obvious phrases like "leave your weed at home."

Very well done

This is a common sense, blunt, and eye-opening book. Very well done. Some political correct types may be offended, but the author sides with the truth and his experiences.

Highly Informative!

This is extremely informative, filled with information about arresting people that normally only cops know, and then lots of insider information about criminal defense that only a criminal defense attorney of many years would know. One of the reviews of this book criticized that most of this was just common sense information. Either that reviewer never listened to this book, or was a lawyer or cop and already knew it. If you aren’t a lawyer or a cop and are just an average person like me, you should not only listen to this book, you should go out and buy a physical copy and underline various parts of that book while repeating them aloud. Everyone in the U.S. should read this book!
