Mechanical narration.

Sadly, because of the considerable effort that has gone into this, the only impression I have from the start is a robotic narration.
The voice is good and the intonation great, but the cadence is so wrong. The emphasis always seems misplaced, and the sense is that of reading without conveying the nuances of the text.
So sad, particularly as the stories are without equal in the genre - it is just that five minutes can put you off, particularly if the reader doesn't manage to deliver the intensity and subtlety of the text. Sadly one to return, although I may be in the minority, of course, just my opinion.

Tedious and flat reading

Excellent for insomnia. Was hopefully this version might prove better than the Stephen Fry version, with his impersonation of Jeeves for all the characters. But no we get a flat delivery the like of which would be booed off stage at a school play.
