Publisher's Summary

Best-selling author Rick Riordan presents the breathtaking conclusion to Roshani Chokshi's New York Times best-selling Pandava quintet. Will the Sleeper gain immortality or be stopped once and for all?

The Pandavas only have until the next full moon to stop the Sleeper from gaining access to the nectar of immortality, which will grant him infinite power. But how can Aru, Mini, and Brynne hope to defeat him without their celestial weapons? The Sleeper and his army are already plundering the labyrinth, and the sisters can't even enter. Their quest to get in will have them calling on old friends, meeting new allies, and facing fearsome trials, like...performing in a rock concert?

When the moment of confrontation finally arrives, it's up to Aru to decide who deserves immortality, the devas or the asuras. The most unexpected answer will come from a most unexpected place. More surprises and delights, gods and demons, and laughs and tears await in this immensely satisfying conclusion to the wild ride that began with the lighting of a lamp.

Read it every night

I looked for a long time for something that would get me to sleep fast, yet was entertaining and fun. Nothing seemed to work, and I had given up hope. But then I found the Aru Shah series on audible. I set a timer for 25 minutes and never make it to the end. It is the perfect read, read by the perfect person for it. It’s read beautifully and I would definitely recommend it.

Stunning conclusion

I’ve been listening to these books since they first came out (2-4 times each)…i’m definitely a fan.

The narrator is absolutely amazing. Her voice both when she reads and narrates the characters is perfect (tho some of the boys do sound sort of emo sometimes, but not to the point of being annoying)

And the humor! Aru is my absolute favorite fictional character. She’s snarky (“DO I LOOK LIKE A TACO SAUCE TO YOU?”) but not in an annoying or petty way. Her humor definitely aged thought the series which was neat to see. Also, her movie references…that Lord of the Rings themed party at the end of The Song of Death…(LEGOLAS IS MELTING). Gets me every time.

On the deeper side, i loved the themes of this series, especially about stories and who ends up as the hero’s/villains. this book especially had the gang meeting plenty of misunderstood characters and learning their true stories which was really awesome to see. even the whole war was painted as “not black and white” and the sleeper was an amazing morally grey villain — he did have a “tragic backstory” but Roshni handled it really well and kept it from feeling preachy.

The plot was also a thrill a minute — THE CONCERT — and i never knew if the Pundavas, Rudi and good ‘ol Wifey would be able to live to fight another day. Also there were some definite *winks* developments between certain characters…

The ending was also amazing. Wrapped it up so well and totally did not make my cry at ALL. i will ofc be re-reading this wonderful series for many more laughs, thrills, and movie references—- thank you so much to the author and narrator for this masterpiece.

If you haven’t read it yet i would strongly suggest you do!

absolutely trash

this was an absolute mess. an editor should have prevented this hot trash. if the repeated whining of the characters were to be removed, this would be an hour long book. i usually dont leave negative reviews but read a synopsis...your time can be better spent.
