Great for kids, some for adults

I have a spouse that was diagnosed with ASD in his 30's. I chose this book in hopes of understanding him better. Some of the content was very relevant, some was more relevant to children but overall, it was still a good, informative, concise read.

A helpful first step!

I’m 20 years old and was recently diagnosed with high-functioning autism spectrum disorder. I can’t afford therapy from an autism specialist so I’ve started researching ways to do it on my own. This book is a great start! Thanks so much to the author!

Extremely helpful

I am 35 years old and recently diagnosed . Listening to this book read like my diary. I plan on sharing this book with family and friends. I never knew I had it but it seems others did and I'm grateful that they took the time to understand me. I just wish that they would informed me about it. My wonderful life partner picked up this trait in me because of his mom who is a psychotherapist and knew a lot about it. I got this book because I personally wanted to know more. I'm very thankful for this book. It will help others explain what I've been trying and struggling to tell them. I find comfort in knowing that this is a trait of mine and not me just being a weirdo. I do plan on trying some of the therapy's mentioned. The spoke is wonderfully written And definitely gives insight into a mind like mine. Thank you very much.

Don't try to fit a person into the description

Generalizations are not 100% for all AS persons. Some are right-on, and others are not applicable.

Highly recommended!

Having a child with Asperger’s I wanted to know how I could better understand his way of thinking. This book made me understand exactly what was going on in my child’s mind, why he acts the way he does sometimes, and gave me ways to help him. I would definitely recommend this book for parents, family members, special education staff, and teachers to understand the uniqueness of an AS mind!

Aspergers syndrome

Great oversight into the needs of someone with Aspergers. I just wish more people would read. It would make my world a better place

Disappointing

Listened through as much of it as I could. It is framed sympathetically but contains a lot of inaccuracies and doesn't address more recent research pertaining to Aspergers in females, nor does it acknowledge that Aspies are actually often hyper-empathetic, instead presenting the old and debunked myth that empathy is lacking. The bad writing and sound quality just topped it off as an item I wish I hadn't wasted time and money on. Would not recommend.

Helpful but brief.

Since I have Asperger's, outling traits of people with Asperger's was not that surprising except for the trait about the lack of motor skills which doesn't seem to apply in my case. More on strategy to help neuro typical's to understand and work with those of us who are only too happy to show, explain, and impart our knowledge/understanding of the things that we happen to be very interested in, would be great. For getting the information about Asperger's out there. Great job.
