Publisher's Summary

Having survived the events at the Invader encampment, Vic finds and exposes even more corruption and conspiracies in his own city.

As an operative of the United Forces of Humanity and its secret covert group known as the Knight Hunters, we join Vic as he digs even deeper into the underbelly of humanity's survival. In doing so, he uncovers even more nefarious activities that go beyond the horrors he's already unearthed. And as always, the threat from the Invaders is a constant risk that could end everything he holds dear.

Too bad ...good premise, terrible execution

The bones of a great story is ruined by poor writing and organization.
The book reads like a phone directory, its just completely one note all the time. The jokes fall flat, dialogue with other characters is few n far between, n when it does happen it's awkward, the romance is forced n serves no purpose. The author doesn't do enough to keep the reader interested. Instead of talking to me, it's like he's talking at me.

It's unfortunate, cuz btwn the magica, the nanomachines, the leveling system, the AI companion, and the typical fantasy races this book has all the elements it needs to be a great progression fantasy story ...but the writing doesn't bring them together cohesively.

That narration reminds me of the teacher from Charlie Brown -- wah wah wah wah wah

The review you need.

The storyline is interesting.. although it takes a while for it to move along.

strangely, there is a ton of stagnation, even while things are happening.

the biggest downer of this series is that there is way to much repetition. it's gotten to the point where I just skipped to the next chapter when a review of the profile or alerts happen. even having the MC inspect a mana stone is annoying. I don't need to hear about how mana stones are acquired 100x.

Their are many situations in the book that leave you thinking... why didn't you just do.. or try using your... leaving you disappointed and kind of let down. not very imaginative.

The book does have some upsides and unique qualities. there is some dry humor that is solely the MC.

sadly this is another book where the MC is sorrounded by females everywhere! gladly it's not sexual levels of annoying. but still on the "are we for real right now another?" levels.

the second book starts in the middle of one of the authors volumes and it's A REALLY AWFUL way to start off a new book. very slow and uninteresting.

it seems the transition from the second to a third book will be doing the samething. and honestly. I don't think I'm going to be picking up the 3rd book.

there is just to much repetition of sentence structure. it's like the author has done this to get a specific word count goal or something. The entire real time progress aspect of a lit rpg is destroyed by the behaviorisms of the MC and the months of hibernation it takes for a single level to be processed. incredibly unrewarding.

Good with a side of hmmmmm

First off the book is well written, it is heavy in the stat details and I found myself fast forwarding through those parts. Some of the story line I found myself not caring about when he gets into buying up everything. GC does well in the narration, there are times I wish he would put more emotion into the characters. The cover art is pretty cool too. If your into OP MC then this book is for you and will be looking forward to the next installment.

turning into a strange harem book

the book was great until now he he is having sex every 3 minutes and is falling love with a staff a motorcycle a bird and the voice in his head. why did the author feel this was good direction to go in. It lost 2 stars from the shear amount of it In the book. the narrator was fantastic as usual. stop with the harem please it is very much not needed and drags the story down.

My new favorite series

I honestly was not expecting much from this series when I picked it up but it is wonderful. Vic is such an awesome character. He reminds me of a more lethal and violent batman at times. Please hurry with more books.

Despite some cheesiness gets better and better

A little bit too long, but since the story is fantastic that is not a problem. Can't wait for the next book in the series.

Better than the first.

I really enjoyed this although I wish the author would stop with the constant “and we had sex” every two minutes. Yes we know every single time he sees his girlfriend they have sex, get on with the story already.
