Princess Aurora. The last heir to Briar’s throne. Kind. Gracious. The future queen her realm needs. One who isn’t bothered that I am Alyce, the Dark Grace, abhorred and feared for the mysterious dark magic that runs in my veins. Humiliated and shamed by the same nobles who pay me to bottle hexes and then brand me a monster. Aurora says I should be proud of my gifts. That she...cares for me. For solitary novelist Jorie Price, true love seems as fictional as the shape-shifting creatures she writes about in her paranormal romances. Griffin Westmore doesn't believe in love, either, but she's one of those not-so-fictional shape-shifters who secretly live among humans. When Jorie's writing gets uncomfortably close to the truth, Griffin is sent to investigate and, if necessary, kill the author to protect the secrets of her kind. But when Griffin unexpectedly finds herself drawn to Jorie, her world is turned upside down.

Brilliant!
Wow! Absolutely love this audiobook! This has probably made it into my top ten. The length didn’t worry me but I wasn’t 100% sure about the whole fantasy thing. That being said, it was narrated by Abby Craden so I took a chance on it. I’ve never read a les-fantasy that was done particularly well. After the first chapter however, I was hooked!
I read lesbian romance for the romance and this one didn’t disappoint. Very swoon-worthy and great chemistry between the two MCs! But besides that, there was also a great amount of action and adventure. It was also quite funny in parts and the dialogue is great.
I have to disagree with the other review here about the narrator. Abby Craden is brilliant and absolutely my favorite narrator! It’s really difficult for me to listen to an audiobook when she’s not narrating. I literally search les-audiobooks almost exclusively by searching Abby Craden. So, Emily Noon, please, please, please continue to use Abby Craden for all your audiobooks!!

I love this book! So exciting and action packed you can never put it down once you started. Characters are so fleshed out, so likeable you can't help but root for them. This book is long but you'll wish it was longer. And Abby Craden, the narrator has outdone herself. She is perfect, the emotions and extra oomp in her story telling is definitely an experience.

Love the story :) !!! Not the Narrator :(
I loved the book! I also read the physical book and was extremely excited about the audiobook. But I was disappointed when I found out that Abby Craden has narrated this! I am not a fan of Abby craden; her boring and heavy (male) voice is my mood killer! I would have enjoyed the audiobook if the narrator was Angela Dawe or Brenda Scott Wlazlo!! Anyway, I still bought the book because I loved this book so much!!! Aurora's Angel is flat out awesome. A fantasy novel, lesbian characters, adventure, shifters, sex. Yes!!!
*** Note: Dear Emily Noon, please use a different narrator for your future books! ***

A new favorite
This is my first time reading this author as well as my first time finding a well written lesbian shifter/fantasy book. I had no idea what to expect going into this but I was not disappointed. The characters are well developed, the storyline is detailed and easy to follow, their world is well crafted and subtly lets you know the time period, there is a superb amount of natural dialogue...overall, this is easily one of my favorite books. I’d even put it in my top five, which is a feat considering the amount of books I’ve read and listened to. Emily Noon will be added to the list of authors I seek out. I loved everything about this book and would give an arm for an epilogue. Two arms and a leg for a sequel. Fantastic work and a beautiful performance by Abby Craden, as always.

Fun and well performed but not a masterpiece
I loved the personality and the reader was amazing and managed to do a great job giving a lot of energy and personality to the characters. It is overall a very simple savior to lovers story that follows the tropes to a T so dont come here looking for a unique and innovative experience but it is a fun sexy romp you'll probably enjoy a lot if you don't think too hard

This book is amazingly captivating. From the very first time we are introduced to Aurora it's hook line sinker. I wanted to listen every time I got in the car, while brushing my teeth, cooking....it did not matter. The attraction that grows between the two main characters is so natural. I wish I had someone who loved me like that lol. Just a really great story with ups and downs. MUST READ/LISTEN.

Entertained
If you're interested in this book, please enjoy my review:
I have a thing for passion, eroticism, romance and comedy.. in conjunction with slathes of drama. It is the recipe for an ultimate entertainment, as we vicariously live through all stories experienced. I value realism when it comes to characters, and scalding truths, as well as enlightenment. To feel things change, to feel something or someone evolve or dissolve.
More than anything, I want a story to remain attached to it's events and have the beginning as a lingering presence throughout.
The main character is a poor construction. A sad background with an infallible personality.
The other main character is a bore. A happy bore, but a bore none the less.. she's also infallible.. on a technicality (the author made her so).
The story is fantasy driven and very childish. The eroticism seems to be the work of a pornstar.. It's awkward and seems very illogical.
The adventure is fun, but the developement of the characters' relationship is ... all driven from on person's thoughts. It eventually feels like the author is posing as both characters, and is having a conversation her own different but related selves.
Although I lack in intellect, I have a large perspective and thus need a fairly realistic story.. and I prefer not to recognize and understand all of it by simplicity.
Was this story memorable, unique or somewhat intriguing? No, not really. It was a fully loaded cliché. It's a simple story with romance, comedy, action, drama and erotica. The twists and turns have visible ends, and the events are just spicy enough to be keep me listening. The narrator is a dampener on the story, as she's dyed the character's in a wholly childish manner, and she maintains a very strange way of speaking no matter which character she's reading.
I'm not upset at buying the book, it kept my mind off things for many hours. But I won't commend or compliment it. For someone who has nothing better to do, I'd say it's a hit.

So good
I deliberately look for books read by Abby Craden on here as I love her voice and this one sounded good. It was even better than expected! It had a great story, was well written and I really enjoyed the main characters chemistry. For both main characters to be very likeable has often be a struggle in Les books I have found but I can say very honestly I really liked them both. I hope there is a sequel in the pipeline would love to see their relationship grow, character development and more epic adventures!!

chapter 27
I cried and don't mind who knows, this is not what I expected, the most cruel of traits is dealing in body parts, animal or human, and the story involves this within, but the trials we face falling for another who doesn't fit our peoples convention is as old as time, too many bigots can't mind thier own business, humans are cruel hypocritical fools, I love this story though I fear it's end and my wish for books. abby craden gives another wonderful performance and stirs desire within, better carry on now and hope all turns out for the characters, and my wish.........

Best fantasy novel on audible
Emily Noon creates an amazing universe combining magic and shape shifters. In this epic adventure you meet lesbian protagonists Evie and Aurora, who have sizzling chemistry. Genuinely a very well written novel, with complex and interesting characters, and at 20 hours it is also great value. It has some violence but it is not gratuitous. I can’t recommend this book enough and now need to go find what else Emily Noon has written. Adult fiction not YA.

Probably the best audiobook Ive ever listened to
I have re-listened to this about 4 times! Im in love with the characters and the story. I cant wait for Emily Noon to come back with more adventures for Evie and Aurora.
I avoided this book for a few months because its a fantasy romance which I thought I would find hard to invest into. Abby Craden is my favourite narrator so I was keeping this for a longish drive/holiday by the pool to give it a good chance.
From the moment I started listening I was completely hooked on the story. Its 20 hours long, but you dont even feel the time pass because Emily Noon fills every moment of it with rich and vibrant descriptions of her world, Nordarra.
The romance is a slow burn with Evie a feisty, independent and intelligent woman slowly falling deeply in love with Aurora. Aurora is a complicated shape shifter with a long, violent, traumatic history and threads carefully around most people. They must navigate the dangerous and complex magical world of Nordarra in order to get Evie home to her ill father.
There are so many facets to this book that I wont be able to cover in this review but do give it a chance if you're hesitating to committing to a fantasy romance thats over 20h long. You will not be able to stop listening!
