Take a time-out. If your toddler starts throwing a tantrum or continuing to misbehave, you need to implement a time-out quickly. You need to give them their space and let them know that their behavior is not acceptable. You should set aside about one minute for each year of age. So, if you have a three-year-old, they'll need to sit in their time-out spot for three minutes.

Publisher's Summary
Begin your journey in learning with a fresh perspective. For many, exploring Maria Montessori's philosophy has greatly changed the way they parent, teach or even view children. This is especially true for children with autism, who require even greater understanding from those who care for them. Whether you're a parent or an educator, this audiobook was designed to help you learn about both autism and the Montessori method.
Autism, the Montessori Way is aimed at helping parents, teachers, or caregivers understand how the Montessori method can be most helpful for children with ASD, and how to respond to typical struggles children with autism have. It explores topics such as early intervention using Montessori, managing choice and freedom, grace and courtesy, understanding and responding to triggers, and more! In this audiobook, Rachel Peachey offers insight for respecting the unique needs, perspectives and interests of children with autism, while also encouraging their independence and growth.
You love your children and want to give them the very best. Give them the best learning method to achieve their true potential. Give your children the gift of Montessori.

A must listen for every early childhood educator
As as former special education/general education teacher, former school board member and mother to 3 children with ADHD and Autism gifts (2 who attended a Montessori preschool), this is an excellent and practical overview about using Montessori’s naturally therapeutic way of supporting children with ASD. I particularly like the analysis of ABA, the discussion of formation/evolution especially pertaining to individuals’ experiences and how some applications have evolved and can be used in the Montessori way depending upon the child.
The author clearly has an intuitive and caring understanding of individuals with ASD.

No book like it! Extremely helpful!
I have a 4.5 year old with mild to moderate autism he is just now starting to say words to communicate he currently receives ABA 36 hours a week and I’m looking into him starting a Montessori school soon and this book had a ton of great advice and education about both! It changed some of my habits and now I see things a little differently in our daily life since reading it!
