Publisher's Summary

Nancy Rynes was riding her bicycle when a large SUV approached. The vehicle's driver, absorbed in texting while driving, plowed right into Rynes.

Suffering from severe spinal and head injuries, Rynes knew she was dying. At that moment, she underwent the first of two life-changing near-death experiences - her consciousness split between her frightened, injured self lying on the road, and an impartial, peaceful observer-consciousness who watched as first responders fought to keep her alive. Her second, more lengthy near-death experience came days later, during the surgery that attempted to repair her traumatized spine.

Rynes, a scientist and confirmed skeptic, was shown the wonders of heaven, experiencing joy, love, and beauty on such a grand scale that she wept at its magnitude. She then met and spoke with a being who gave her insights into life, love, and the wonders of spirit. After her tour of heaven, she was returned to her body to begin the long, slow process of recovering from injuries her surgeon affirms should have killed her.

In Awakenings from the Light, Rynes recounts the amazing sights of heaven, and explains the remarkable insights into life she returned with to share with others. She was gifted with a second chance - a precious opportunity to bring a little bit of heaven into her life on Earth. The wisdom she passes on could well change your life as well.

Transformational book

I've read or listened to something on the order of 100 accounts of Near Death Experiences (NDE)--I've been binging on the subject lately. Nancy Rynes' account of her NDE is fairly typical in certain ways. It's well-written, well-organized, and interesting. But, in one way it's particularly outstanding--she brought back extensive teachings, which she's able to explain in detail. Many "experiencers" bring back teachings regarding loving each other, our connectedness, forgiveness, and similar ideas. However, Nancy Rynes really puts meat on the bones.

She relays, first, the extensive teachings that she was given by her Guide in the Afterlife. Then, she adds her understanding of them along with suggestions for related spiritual exercises. For whatever reason, her retelling of these oft-repeated principles hit home with me. While I feel that I've made a lot of spiritual progress in my life, Nancy's book is giving me a big boost for moving further along. I've had many realizations while listening and can see that I've already made changes in my life. I'm now listening for the 5th time and still having new realizations. Yes, I recommend this book!

More spiritual concepts than NDE content

More spiritual concepts than NDE content, however, the NDE experience it does describe, is a far deeper and descriptive telling than most I've read, and I've read just about all the nde, prebirth and consiousness books I can find.

For people looking for life advice to pursue more worthwhile living spiritually, this will be a fantastic book for you.

Beautiful

I would recommend this book. You don’t have to listen to her experience. You can go straight to what she learned. I listened to it all! Her story is so awe inspiring that you can stop listening! So easy so true that it resonates with your heart. Love love love this book!

Inspiring

This book is exactly what the title says. Ann describes the accident that nearly ended her life, her life before and after, her enlightening experience on the other side, and the lessons she learned there that inspired her to share them through this book. Some reviewers say the lessons are nothing new, but if you really take them to heart and begin to implement them into your life, you can transform your life for the better.

wonderful lady,/ for beginners

a lovely woman with a beautiful message. . this book is good for first time readers of such a subject. however if you were looking for interesting and unique messages from the other side I'll sum it up" love one another". otherwise you would get as much from one of her YouTube interviews. she alludes in one interview that she could write several more books on what she learned . That would be interesting and i will keep an ear out for those books.

Question how authentic her story is

I've read almost every story of Near-Death-Experience and have had one myself. Most seem genuine but, this one doesn't or is exaggerated. It felt like she was setting herself up to capitalize on her story. I researched and found that she is doing that. My thoughts are that she may have had a very brief experience and has added a lot to it. I only listened to the first part of the book and am returning it.

An honest and humble retelling...

This book had me in tears a lot. Some really moving and meaningful information. I plan to write down some of these messages and have them up on the wall where my children and I can see them everyday. Those who have NDE's and choose to share their profound experience with the world truly are the prophets of today. Mahalo Nancy.
