He is mostly known for his collection of 48 biographies of men, "Parallel Lives", and "Moralia" - a collection of manuscripts. After he became a Roman citizen, he changed his name to Lucius Mestrius Plutarchus. Plutarch spent his last thirty years in Delphi, serving as a priest.
