Easy to retain

I like this book because it was very easy to retain. My favorite part is the team work makes dream work. This is such an important part in parenting and the author gave several tips to improve or begin to make this work.

In addition to parenting your child, it gives you several safety tips and things to avoid as well as marriage advices. I highly recommend this book for all Fathers out there.

Be the best dad you can be!

This book was a great listen to understand those challenging first years as a dad and to figure out how to be aware of your duties, present in your responsibilities, and prevent you from being blindsided with the roller coaster of a new child. It’s a crazy time and a lot of sudden changes are happening but this book does a great job of explaining mistakes to avoid and how to get into your own groove. Your significant other will also appreciate you taking the time to be prepared instead of just winging it!

What an excellent book for new dads!

What an excellent book for new dads!
The author uses a combination of humour and experience to help any new dad navigate the crazy world of fatherhood! Most books focus on moms and becoming a mother, but it is very refreshing to read a book about how it feels to become a parent as a man! I wish a book like this would have been available when my kids were born, but as a new aunite, I wanted to listen to this first before giving it to my brother (aka the new dad!). I think he is going to love it !!

Dad's need a book, too!

I loved everything about this perspective. I have personally purchased, "What to Expect..." for personal reasons and thoroughly enjoyed the tone, language and angle of this book for men. I particularly appreciated the special tips, such as controlling ones anger, having a softer touch and things he can do to support his mate. A focus of understanding what is going behind the why and that not everything is black and white and has an easy answer. Nothing is black and white when it comes to the emotional, psychological and physical changes his mate is going through. I would definitely recommend this book to my Dad-To-Be buddies!

This audiobook covers every single aspect not only of the pregnancy but the how-to’s when the baby arrives and beyond. It is a great resource as every single question you can think of is answered here. I also love that it gives great tips on how to tackle the challenges together and the emotional bonds of parenting you share with your partner as new parents. I highly recommend it!

Don't shout at the baby!

Managing anger and frustrations and learning how to communicate with the baby is the first thing a Dad must learn how to do. Also, avoiding burn-out, tensions with the partner or mother, and staying fit. Given the ever-present looming threat of consumerism, the book is explicit that most things that are out there for sale for babies are probably not needed. Whereas medical advice on how to deal with a baby's health issues is scarce and must be learned.

This audiobook goes beyond caring for toddlers to include advice on child rearing and is straightforward about the many stressors this can cause for a Dad. Probably the main message is on how to avoid burn-out and have a well-rounded life.

Worth it!

I bought this book because I wanted to understand a father’s perspective on parenting a baby… it really came out interesting knowing their psychology and their unique and shared concerns… this is very important for me as a neonatal nurse. I enjoyed listening to this audiobook and would definitely share it with all fathers I know and of course with my future husband. My favourite chapters are ‘Danger Zone ‘Teamworks Makes a Dream Works’, and ‘We’re Only Human’… ‘Danger Zone is my most favourite as this will save your baby’s life! You gotta give this book a listen!

So helpful and a pleasure to listen to.

I have been listening to this on my way to work every morning. The reader moves at a pace that almost makes you feel like you are listening to a podcast, unlike other robotic sounding audiobooks- I loved it. Straight to the point and informative, there are moments that make you laugh as well as truly reflect on yourself and the father you want to be.
The content is genuinely helpful and practical. Expecting my first child soon, this is exactly what I needed to feel ready and less anxious. Great that you are given the PDF too, now I can refer back to it whenever I need to. Highly recommend!

Two thumbs up!

This audiobook is beautifully laid out, straightforward, easy to listen, and thoughtfully divided into manageable subcategories. It is a very manageable listen and a great resource that first-time fathers should refer to time and time again as they learn how to navigate the challenging world of fatherhood. I adore how Magnus included both the "does" and the "don'ts" in this book. This book will undoubtedly withstand the test of time with new dads for many years to come.  I can't wait to tell others about it. I appreciate you working so hard to keep us all informed, Magnus.

Be prepared - new dads must listen!

Every new father would benefit from this audiobook because some things don't come naturally.

It helps to listen to this book because it will prepare you through the stages and things to expect as the baby arrives. How to help mom, how to be the most supportive, etc.

helpful guidance even for for 2nd time dad

On one hand, I wish I had this book when I had my first child, but I can clearly say the second round was not just easier because of the 2nd time but also because of the book. This book displays the numerous pitfalls we could face and it is interesting to get this information as we can then avoid them, when we do face them. This audiobook was a great listening experience

Great for first time father

This is a great book for first time father. We all know mom's are super important in the first few months of the baby's life but as a father, we don't want to mess things up... This book is great to pave the way of what is going to happen and what to do. Great tool to have handy... highly recommend.

As a hopeful Dad-to-be, this is priceless

I was stunned at the huge number of pitfalls Dads have to circumvent. I knew parenting was no cakewalk but this book opened my eyes. Being the perfect Dad is a dream very few human beings have achieved. This audiobook was a great listening experience that explained how Dads need to know everything about gestation, preparation and the first year of their child's life. There are so many things that could go wrong and it is vital that we learn about these things beforehand so that we can avoid making these mistakes that the vast majority of people make.

A true gem!

When I was pregnant, it was incredibly frustrating that my husband seemed to expect to learn what to do from me while I was still trying to learn what I should have been doing. We were both very green. I wish we had this book though. It have information even I could have used back then. Highly recommended!
