Maria Montessori observed that all children have what she called “an absorbent mind”, ready to drink it all in, and that the role of parents is to mindfully assist in their learning and development.

The fourth title in Dawn Dais' popular parenting series, The Sh!t No One Tells You About Pregnancy is quite possibly the funniest and most heartfelt yet. After all, pregnancy is not all about scanning Pinterest for baby shower themes and registering for ironic onesies, and sometimes the less flattering aspects of gestation have a way of dimming a bit of that so-called pregnancy glow. Not to worry! Dawn is here, ready to shepherd you through the experience of one human body taking on the task of growing another human body.

Here's some of what you can expect to learn inside the pages of this book:
- How to properly feed your baby for optimal development and health throughout the first year
- Discover how to avoid having endless sleepless nights by sleep-training your child
- Learn how to avoid common mistakes that parents make that can end up harming their baby's development in the long-term
- How to properly deal with separation anxiety and make it much easier on your child, and you
- The biggest challenges parents face in the first year and how to easily overcome them
Would you like to enjoy going through every stage of your child's development without worrying if you're doing the right thing or not?

Awesome listen from this audible. I love the approach that it takes when referring to the baby, and still includes sound suggestions, advice and instruction. My son and his wife ate highly competitive and I can easily imagine him comparing this book to her "What to Expect the 1st Year" I truly hunk the layout/approach is perfect for any new parent, but Dads especially, as it lends a comfortable frame of reference and terms.

Worth the purchase
Wonderful book. We are the first time parents, still expecting and this book was recommended by a friend as a bible. I think it is a nice book that explains everything in detail and provides different options rather than just one. We are also Europeans and wanted to listen something in addition to a European book (believe me, there are so many differences!), and I think we chose a great option! I would recommend this to anyone! Better buy one good book than many :)

Fantastic book!
I love the way this is explained, it's informative without being in your face. It's more like story telling than instructional. A lot of the philosophy is do what works for you and read the signs from your baby. I also like that there is medical research to back their claims as well as home testimony. I recommend this book to ANY new parent so that they can realize that babies aren't a dog you are supposed to train, but a human being who has their own quirks, their own schedules, and their own way of doing things. Fantastic book!
