My name is Craig Beck and I am the Internet's foremost expert in helping people quit drinking alcohol. I have already helped thousands of people just like you get back in control of their drinking or stop completely. I understand how it feels to be worried about your drinking because for nearly 20 years I struggled with my own addiction. I tried everything to stop drinking alcohol from creating silly rules about what I was "allowed" to drink and going through torturous "dry months" to taking dangerous prescription-only medication!Absolutely nothing I tried worked until I dramatically changed my thinking.

Publisher's Summary
When actress Claudia Christian flees a troubled childhood and moves to Hollywood at age 17, she steps through the looking glass into another world.
From the set of Dallas to her starring role on the sci-fi series Babylon 5, Claudia's affairs with billionaires, supermodels, rock stars, and celebrities are mixed with shootings, stalking, heartbreak, and betrayal. On set and off, drama follows Claudia - an alcohol-fueled coke run and makeout session with a bridesmaid on her wedding day; her tempestuous, love-hate relationship with actor Angus Macfadyen; the conspiracy theories surrounding her ex-husband's death; and a 20-year on-and-off relationship with billionaire Dodi Fayed before he dated Princess Diana. Hollywood life takes its toll on Claudia as she descends into alcohol addiction and a desperate battle to reclaim her life.
Rehab, alternative treatments, and even hypnotism can't break the cycle of alcohol abuse that threatens to destroy Claudia. Close to despair she discovers The Sinclair Method, a treatment that saves her life.
Sometimes shocking, often humorous, always captivating Babylon Confidential is a story of hope that will inspire and enlighten you.

It Takes Guts to Share a Story Like This
This book is quite possibly the most candid book I've ever experienced. That Claudia Christian narrates the audiobook herself makes it feel that much more personal, and that much more powerful. On Babylon 5, her character Susan Ivanova is tougher-than-nails, the left hand of God and vengeance personified when the call arises. The actress behind the character... she's much tougher by necessity, and all too human, just like the rest of us.
Everyone has that personal chink in the armor, the Achilles' Heel to which we can fall prey. She found hers, and this book is an amazing chronicle of her battle with what she calls her inner monster. The book is intense and as relatable as a tale like this can be. It's not for the squeamish, but it is one for pretty much anyone who doesn't live that fairy tale perfect life. At its core, which she reminds us up front, this is a story of hope.
While I myself am not an alcoholic, I found the details to be particularly enlightening as to what that kind of thing really is like, and in the sharing, I felt like I was given a boost to my own fight against my own personal demons. We all have an addiction to something, even if we aren't aware of it, and even if it seems minor by comparison of others. I'm in the midst of battling with mine. This came along at exactly the right time, which is perhaps why I'm biased towards a higher rating, but I just can't give anything less than the highest mark for a person who bared her soul to the world in this way. A book like this is courage incarnate.

Skip This One
I liked Claudia Christian in Babylon 5 so i got her memoir on Audible when it was on sale a few weeks ago. She narrates the book herself. This is going to be the second time in just under 600 books i've gotten over many years from audible that i'm returning this book. (They allow you to do that, and i make a point of not abusing that privelege). If you want in depth accounts of the 40 or so men and women she has fallen deeply in love with, the multiple abortions, the tons and tons of drugs and other addictions in her life, then this is right up your alley. It isn't up mine. I was hoping for behind the scenes insights on the Babylon 5 cast, etc. There was about 10 minutes of that total. My advice: skip this one.

Taming The Monster
Truth about addiction is hard to come by especially when you think you are hiding it so well. This is a very open and honest look at what addiction can do to our lives. I appreciate her courage for sharing her truth because abuse tried to stay hidden creating the monster. I also admire her for reaching out to others to try and help with their monsters. I am glad that you are still here to do battle with your monster. I hope you continue to have s happy and successful life.

A fascinating life & alternative treatment for alcoholism
Despite its name, this book has little to do with Babylon 5, or Claudia Christian’s time on it.
It gets mentioned - several times - but Claudia’s life story, the ups and downs, and, more and more as it progresses, her struggles with alcoholism, are the real story here.
She writes frankly about her experiences, and ends up with why she’s such a big proponent of the Sinclair Method (no relation to B5’s first commander :)
It’s a fascinating story: funny, sad, scary, and sweet.
The narration of course is outstanding. Claudia reads it herself - she’s an experienced voice actor and is reading her own words, so I wouldn’t expect anything less.

Good book!
Having taken Naltrexone when the Sinclair book and The Sinclair Method was first introduced in 2008ish, I was very interested in Claudia's story. Glad she has made this public. I think there is definitely hope in this medication. It didn't really work for me back then, but I am on it again inspired by her Netflix documentary and hoping maybe it takes some people months or years for it to kick it. If you have stumbled across TSM and are wanting to hear stories, this is a must listen. Claudia does gret job!

An Enlightening Listen
Babylon Confidential exposes Claudia Christian's life, loves and troubles in the raw. I found it interesting as a fan of Claudia's work to see the path she has taken through her career and the challenges both professional and self imposed she has lived through. Part Hollywood kiss and tell, part honest memoir but all from the heart it showed me life's path never really runs smooth and being rich and famous can have serious consequences too.
Overall I enjoyed it and recommend it if you like Hollywood autobiography, science fiction or Claudia's work in general.

The Voice of a hero.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes.
This is a story of how Fate can spin us around, if we want it or not.
The story has to levels, the outer Hollywood jetset line, and the inner self reproaching level.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Babylon Confidential?
Reading the story about her brother Patrick was actually hard.
Hearing Claudia actually reading it, was almost devastating.
I can't believe she made it, even if I know she had to stop several times.
Which character – as performed by Claudia Christian – was your favourite?
Herself
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Yes, many.
She told her story to ME.
I work with these things as a councellor, and her case could easily landed in my in-tray. Very honest, very brave.
Any additional comments?
I really recommend this book, and specially the audiobook to everyone.
Hearing her own words narrated by herself is just impressive.

Takes you from being a fan to feelin like a friend
YES I am a Bab 5 Fan,, loved CC character and yes I was NOT EXPECTING the honesty and depth that CC took me to,,
I know a lot more now about her demons and her worries than I thought possible,
CC takes you to the Horrible places and helps you to understand the Demons that Take her there, also she shares the intimate sexy and downright laughable parts,, (Seeing her naked Butt on a 50ft screen - you will understand when you read it)
I did not know that her life was like this as I saw her character and occasionally in magazines but the things she has Battled and the Many, Many Many people she has dated,, (hey we all need a Hobby,, Hers just happens to be Sex & Why not she is Beautiful) helped me to understand her life and some of the many facets that I have to deal with that are similar to hers (Addiction)
REALLY impressed that she can be so honest about a lot of pain and bad times and yet she is Alive,, and Well and Writing amazing Books,, while sharing her life,,
A very Real book that will make you laugh and will show you how things can change so quickly in Life - All topped off with the Beautiful Voice of Susan Ivanova
Thank you CC,,, next time your in the UK head over to Liverpool please,,, xxx

Fast & exciting!
This is an amazing listen! Claudia reads it in a clear and concise way. It is a fast action packed story of tragedy, and ultimate victory, over Claudia's life, and her alcoholism. It is one of the best books that I have ever read, and then I listened to it because it is so good.
I personally have been on The Sinclair Method for 2 years now, and it has cut my drinking down from 50 standard drinks each week, down to about 6 standard drinks each week. Babylon Confidential is a great way to introduce people to The Sinclair Method and if you know anyone with alcoholism, then give them a copy of this audio book as a gift, it might save their life & sanity, and if you are an alcoholic yourself, then download a copy of this audio book and listen to it now, the message about recovery from alcoholism in it is astounding, and it really works!
I will be listening to this audio book again.
