Story
I see dead people. No, not like that movie. I’m a coroner, and yes it's the kiss of death on my dating life. When men find out what I do, I'm lucky to hear, “It was nice meeting you”. Until I almost accidentally kill Blake Hale with my car. Instead of being freaked out by me, he’s intrigued. No matter how much I try to scare him off, he keeps coming back for more. And for a follow-the-rules guy, he’s breaking them all for me.

But when it comes to Reena's actual family - and their constant meddling in her life - well, that recipe always ends in disaster. Now Reena's parents have found her yet another potential Good Muslim Husband. This one has the body of Captain America, a delicious British accent, and lives right across the hall. Olive is always unlucky: in her career, in love, in...well, everything. Her identical twin sister, Amy, on the other hand, is probably the luckiest person in the world. Her meet-cute with her fiancé is something out of a romantic comedy (gag), and she’s managed to finance her entire wedding by winning a series of internet contests (double gag). Worst of all, she’s forcing Olive to spend the day with her sworn enemy, Ethan, who just happens to be the best man.

Publisher's Summary
Ever have one of those days where life just plain sucks? Welcome to my last three months - ever since I caught my can’t-be-soon-enough-ex-husband cheating with his paralegal. I’m 35 years old, and I’ve lost my NYC apartment, my job, my money, and frankly, my dignity.
But the final heartache in the suck sandwich of my life? My great-aunt Maggie died. The only family member who’s ever gotten me.
Even after death, though, she’s helping me get back up again. She’s willed me the keys to a house in the burbs of all places and dared me to grab life by the family jewels. Well, I’ve got the vise grips already in hand (my ex should take note), and I’m ready to fight for my life again.
Too bad that bravado only lasts as long as it takes to drive into Huckleberry Hills. And see the house.
There are 47 separate HOA violations, and I feel them all in my bones. Honestly, I’m surprised no one’s “accidentally” torched the house yet. I want to, and I’ve only been standing in front of it for five minutes. But then, my grumpy neighbor tells me to mow the lawn first and I’m just...done. Done with men too sexy for their own good and done with anyone telling me what to do.
First rule of surviving the burbs? There is nothing that YouTube and a glass of wine can’t conquer. Well, unless it’s your hot neighbor.

Fun story
This one was a fun story but also with a serious story line. It reminds you to check on your loved ones because you never know what they are going through, it also dealt with a cheating spouse and starting over, getting rid of all the background noise and being brave enough to carve out your own path but while doing it you still need to let the people that are actually on your side.

Enjoyed this story
I really enjoyed the story, the characters are easy to get relate to. I wish there would have been just a little bit more after they made up like how the divorce turned out , how work was when it all came out . I’m not gonna lie the narrator to me was very monotone . She sounded sad, it made it a little hard to concentrate on the book at first .I really did like the characters and I really enjoyed the book . Kinda want to meet aunt Margaret! I Believe there will be more I can’t wait to see what happens with Sarah with mom and dad I want next mom and dad they sound like a hoot!

BUT there were times in the story, I would just yell -quit whinging! yes parts of life suck. We get damaged, we have emotional baggage but for the love of pineapple - get over it already

Please make it stop!
I tried, I really did. This book is the melodramatic whining of a misogynist. The main character is such a clueless Debbie Downer, that I gave up after 5 chapters. I kept waiting for something to happen to make me want to root for her…I just wanted to slap her silly.

Fine to pass the time

Yeah it’s alright if you like dry
The story itself is exciting but it took WAY too long to get there. I don’t need to hear 5 minutes of her morning routine. I think my annoyance was exaggerated by the narrator, she was so monotone that I started to get frustrated and just wanted it to stop.

What great little romance with a little DV ,
Really well written, With some eccentric characters, all lovable.
My only issue was the dry mouth of the narrator. The whole time listening to her mouth, her tongue her lips sticking together, screaming for some water! Great story though.
