Publisher's Summary

As a MechWarrior of the Draconis Combine, Minobu Tetsuhara was bound by Bushido - a code that demands loyal service - to the devious Warlord Grieg Samsonov. But when Minobu came upon a strange blue-and-gold Archer, Bushido also dictated that he not destroy the honorable but helpless warrior. And so begins the BattleTech Chronicles, books one, two, and three...

Bait & Switch Tactics

Battletech Chronicles Books 1-3 Audible Logo Audible Audiobook – Unabridged is the advertised title. This title is an outright lie. All of the books in this title are abridged. One novel should take about 9 hours by itself left alone 3 novels. These 3 novels should be somewhere around 27-30 hours in total when unabridged.

I am certainly glad I got this title under the try it option. This was a bait and switch - advertise as unabridged but provide the abridged version.

Abridged like crazy

Way too abridged. About half the book is missing. If I hadn't read the book, I'd have been confused.

Very Abriged

This audio version very much abridged with huge chunks of necessary plot elements cut out of them. The print versions are some of my favorite books. I do not recommend these audio version.

Not great

The reader is flat and emotionless and the books are severely abridged. This renders the stories extremely disjointed and confusing.

Poor introduction to the series.

Story is decent, sound effects are overpowering

I like the story, but the sound effects are frequent and loud making it hard to follow.

Rough start

The production put into these books fell flat with me. The first two books had music and background noise that I felt took away more than they added. The third book was much better in that regard and I enjoyed it more because of that. Overall still a good purchase, but not the best pick for anyone new to the MechWarrior universe.

Great reading and voice clarity.

The voices were very clear and masterfully done. I enjoyed all three books. I had read all these before.

Missing

Lots of chapters missing from this audio work which is a shame as all books very good and missing bits round out supporting characters.

Need a lot more Battletech audiobooks

There is a large difference between listening to an ebook text-to-voice to hearing an Audiobook. Kind of like using a micro laser vs ERPPC. It has that same feel as if I was watching a Solaris holovid hosted by Duncan Fisher, or watching a Tex Talks documentary on the SLDF or VR MWO & MW5
