Publisher's Summary

In the tradition of such beloved spiritual teachers as Francis MacNutt and Michael Scanlan, Be Healed: A Guide to Encountering the Powerful Love of Jesus in Your Life offers in an audiobook form Bob Schuchts's popular program for spiritual, emotional, and physical healing through the power of the Holy Spirit and the sacraments. This renowned program for spiritual restoration is steeped in scripture and the wisdom of the Catholic Church.

Deeply intimate and vulnerable about his own journey of healing, Catholic therapist Bob Schuchts connects with his readers by sharing the series of betrayals he endured in high school - his father's infidelity, his parents' divorce, and his older brother's drug addiction - and his subsequent seasons of struggle with God and faith.

Be Healed is based on the program first used in dioceses across the United States to form the hearts and minds of Catholic clergy. Schuchts's trusted process for finding inner peace and healing is now expanded to serve the entire body of Christ, helping people recognize their brokenness and find hope in the risen Christ.

This is the most important book I’ve ever read(listened to)

A five star rating is not overblown at all for this book. Without a doubt this book might be one of the most important books ever written in dealing with personal healing. There are a few books that I would recommend to every single person whether they are a believer or not. This book is by far one of them.

Powerful

I found this book to be very powerful. I came to understand the need for healing of old wounds. I also have a new understanding and appreciation of the sacraments that Jesus left us. Every sin is a rupture of a relationship and separates us from God. Through the sacraments we can come to know him better. Any healing in our life heals those around us. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to know them selves and Jesus at a deeper level.

Good Listen

I appreciated and valued listening to the considerations in this book. The testimonials of the power prayer has to heal were quite astonishing and beautiful! Glory to God!
I've got a lot of prayer time to do so I can have growth in my Faith with these kinds of beautiful healings!
My only pet peeve was that the narrator included. Every. Single. Citation. Definitely kinda interrupted the narrative a little.

Absolutely incredible, impactful and insightful

This book will change your life. If you are searching for healing then look no further. You will gain insight into why you feel the way you feel or behave the way you do, and Dr. Schuchts gives you tools to address the deeper issues and roots. I highly recommend this book and want to tell as many people about it as I can. Thank you to Dr. Schuchts and all the people at the John Paul II healing center.

Very good self reflection

I’ve listened to this twice, intend on listening to it again (kind of like watching a good movie several times to catch the things you missed) and also purchased the physical book to take notes in.

This is a wonderful way to really take a look in the mirror and see what God sees. There are important lessons in this book that will not only improve you, as a person, but also strengthen your relationship with God in a more intimate way.

It is inspiring and reveals how God reaches us in our brokenness

I have worked in healthcare for nearly three decades and am a Catholic. I would recommend this book to anyone who has been in therapy and who has sought healing from their wounds and sinful patterns. God is the healer. Therapy and medication are instruments in the healing process, but God remains the healer. The author uses his own story and that of others to reveal how Christ meets us in our brokenness and walks with us on the path of healing. His stories were relatable, hopeful, and inspiring. My only struggle was getting used to the narrator’s presentation of the book. It took me a few chapters to move beyond how distracting the way he read the book. For me, it was though he used an explanation point at the end of almost every sentence. It was though he highlighted or emphasized most sentences. I’m glad I listened to the entire book. As the author mentions, we will judge a tree by it’s fruits, the tree of knowledge of good and evil or from the tree of life. We can judge this book by it’s fruits. It is quite fruitful leading to Christ, the Tree of Life, having a personal encounter with Christ in our wounds, and discovering how much we are love by Him, our healer.

Very good content.

The content is excellent. However, I wished the narrator would tone down his expressive reading style to allow the author's words to come through better. Nonetheless, still a very good listen. It would be great if we can get a pdf with the "take a moment" questions throughout the book, as well as the charts and illustrations.
