Publisher's Summary

It’s not easy being the most famous and attractive villain in the United States, but somebody has to do it, and it might as well be Via Rodriguez, aka “Empress.”

Via’s used to outsmarting the ever-so-arrogant heroes that come her way. However, her wicked schemes take an unexpected turn after a getaway gone wrong lands both her and her current foe - the annoyingly perky Electra - in the middle of an unknown land that is definitely not Earth.

Silverwall is bizarre, to put it bluntly. Via is suddenly imbued with diabolical magical powers; an annoying menu keeps popping up to tell her about mana and Status Points; and no one has even heard of the Internet. Stripped of her usual gadgets, carefully laid plans, and social cred, Via will have to rely on her wits, charm, and newfound demonic skills to navigate tricky local politics and amass enough allies and minions to survive. But if she ever wants to actually make it back home, she’ll need to cooperate with the last person in the world she’d ever want to team up with: Electra.

Fast-paced and snarky, Be Thou My Good turns some of the most popular tropes from role-playing games and genre novels alike on their heads to present an irresistible new take on the eternal battle between do-gooders and evil geniuses.

Just...wow

Why did I not find this hidden gem sooner? I came for the narrator and stayed for this truly good story and hilarious characters.

Right up my alley

I know I'm being bias here because 1. I was looking for books narrated by Hollie Jackson, 2. I've been into superhero novels lately, and finally 3. anime tropes mixed in with pop culture may as well be a weakness of mine.

No progression system

This is mostly a fantasy book with a few spells and stats thrown in. Not my cup of tea. The book wasn’t badly written though. The Machiavellian character wasn’t a very good one. If she was aware of the broader social and political dynamics, the reader wasn’t informed so it all just came out in a deus ex machina surprise the end. Despite the MC pretending it was all planned somehow, but there was no way. The plot line that she will rebuild the high tech gadgets needed to get back home is pretty weak. She couldn’t even remember how to make steal. There is too much reference knowledge you’d need and they have none. So I imagine that will come off pretty unrealistic.

Great beginning!

This one was kind of a blind pick for me, but I was not disappointed! Great narration, and fantastic characters abound in this relatively short novel. I really love the villain MC, Via, and the side characters are well rounded as well. Not super crunchy, but that’s ok!

A fun new LitRPG

A superhero and super villain are transported to a litrpg world, craziness ensues.

It was fun, I liked the characters. The portrayal of a super genius was well balanced. She was able to plot and plan things out but nothing was outside the realm of possible deduction. It all felt believable.

The system is lean and impactful which I feel is best. Everyone only gets a handful of skills to work with and that makes each one that much more important.

All-in-all I feel it is a great addition to the genre and will be watching this author for more.

Mental OP

This charecter is a planner not a fighter and a villain who is looking like the lesser of all other evils, basically a mastermind grey hero

Very enjoyable story.

The title says it all. For me, this story was quite enjoyable. I enjoyed the protagonist more than nearly most others I've read or heard about. There are plenty of other world stories, but far too many weak minded and weak willed protagonists. This one is a gem.

It's fine.

It's an interesting story concept of merging Isekai and Superheros but it's kinda of just meh. Performance is good and I kinda just zoned out for the last hour of this story.

incredibly entertaining!

I quite enjoyed the spin of this novel with having both a anti hero and a current hero who is self reflecting in one story! sometimes helping each other, but from two very distinct view points.

Supervillian Isekai!

If you enjoy isekai stories, you will most likely enjoy this one too, it follows most of the tropes you would expect, but it does them well. The book has a fun twist, with the whole following a marvel/DC supervillain & hero placed in a fantasy world. It was also quite funny throughout, and I enjoyed the banter between the characters.

For me, the performance in narration really heightened the book, Hollie Jackson nails the main character, and I enjoyed how she delivered each line.

The only negative I have was that the pacing could be a little off at times, and this is one of those books where you feel like you just read the intro to a much bigger story rather than feeling like you read a complete narrative on its own.

Overall enjoyed it and would recommend.
