Hockey star Max Yearwood was everything I needed at the time - fun, sexy, up for anything, and only around for a few months, since he’d signed with a new team 3,000 miles away. Max proposed we spend the summer helping me forget my ex. It sounded like a good plan. Things couldn’t get too serious when we had an expiration date. Right? Five hockey players, a cabin in the woods...and little old me, Winnie Berlin. Sounds like the start of a fantasy, right? But it's not. It's my reality. It all started when I got lost in the middle of the Canadian Rockies. A wicked thunderstorm sent my car mud sliding into a ditch, and for a girl whose survival skills involve finding the nearest Starbucks, I was in deep trouble. Forced to abandon my car in search of help, I stumbled upon a cabin in the middle of nowhere.

When I answered an ad for a caretaker at Saint Mark’s Sanctuary, I thought I’d be dusting chandeliers and polishing floors. I didn’t expect to be tricked into a curse, going into debt to a monster, and being forced to take a self-paced “let’s learn magic” course so I can fix a 2,000-year-old problem. And that monster? Not your ordinary, everyday beast. He has hooves, and horns, and fur on his legs. But you know where he doesn’t have fur? Yeah. There. Which is fine. Except he doesn’t wear pants.

One night and my life completely jumped the tracks. Actually, a pack of expired condoms did that - the rest of the night was pretty amazing. Open bar at a friend's wedding. Bad dancing all around. Stupid trivia bets with my fellow Ice Knights hockey teammates. And Tess Gardner. The factoid-blurting, fandom-T-shirt-wearing, no-I-don’t-want-a-relationship-with-you woman makes me forget for one night that I’m a man with a routine and my future all mapped out. I was only seven the first time Grady Bowen whispered those words to me. Cloaked by the black sky under a blanket of stars, it was easy to get lost. He didn't have any good memories of his own and needed to borrow mine. I would willingly give him anything. Being infatuated with that boy was a beautiful curse. What could have been special didn't get the chance to bloom. He'd never see me as more than his best friend's kid sister. That was a hard lesson to learn, but not the most difficult.

It started out like any normal day. Then the fender bender happened. The guy I collided with drove an expensive car and was drop-dead gorgeous. Too bad he was also a total jerk. We argued over whose fault it was and any other thing that came out of his condescending mouth. Eventually, the police came and we went our separate ways. The insurance companies would have to figure things out. I had a job interview to get to anyway - one I was excited about. Though that excitement changed to disappointment the moment the person interviewing me walked in. The guy from the accident.

It all started with a mysterious blue note sewn into a wedding dress. Something blue. I’d gone to sell my own unworn bridal gown at a vintage clothing store. Publisher's Summary
I've lived on this mountain my whole life. For the most part, I've been alone and that's just the way I like it. No annoyances, no people, no noise. That is until she moves into the abandoned house next door. I don't know what her intentions are, but she insists on being friends. So, being the good neighbor I am, I am more than happy to roll out the unwelcome mat for her. She needs to disappear and fast. All I want to do is continue my solitude and send the tiny woman on her way back to wherever she came from.
Ugh, if it was only that easy.

The Nicole, Kai and Wen dream team does it AGAIN!
How Nicole builds such amazing worlds and creates such great characters that weave together continues to baffle me. I swear she wrote this book just to have Kai and Wen to narrate it too because they were so perfect for each of the characters. Wen has a perfect husky bear growl that is so perfectly Garrison. Kai is so perfectly Minnie too, I just love it. The interconnecting characters and the way that things twine together just blow my mind. I love it. I have loved everything that Nicole has put out, she has a way of making unique characters that I just adore. I need more please!

Beautiful story!
Garrison is more than the figurative grumpy bear...he IS, literally, a bear! He tries to ignore his new perky neighbor but that isn’t going so well. Minnie loves her new home in the mountains and is simply trying to be a good neighbor. When her neighbor proves to be a grump, Minnie makes it her mission to befriend...or torture...him, whichever comes first. Her antics are hilarious! Unbeknownst to either of them, Garrison and Minnie share a painful past. Will they allow the kindly old shopkeeper to guide them to a happily ever after?
Great story and narration! On my relisten list!

Awesome Book and narration
Loved this shifter romance! Nicole Garcia did a fantastic job with the story and the characters. At first, I didn't like Garrison because he was so rude and obnoxious, but as you got to know him and his story, my feelings changed. The relationship between him and Minnie was great to follow. Totally loved the other characters in the story too. This story made me laugh a lot and was very heartfelt. I wished this story was longer because I was sad when it was over. Kai and Wen did an awesome job as always narrating the story.

Honey & Bears
I have waited for this book to come out on audio and it was so worth the wait. Nicole Garcia has a writing style that is like coming home for me. This book has a little of everything, from the grumpy hermit to the spunky woman to the wise old uncle. I could not stop listening! Minnie has recently moved to Yaak Montana, getting away from the crazy life she was leading; Garrison who is the only person near her is not happy. He likes his solitude and her intrusion is not welcome. He isn't making life easy, but she does not let it stop her from getting to know him. The two share an unexplained connection and their chemistry is strong. In true Nicole Garcia style, she masterfully weaves a deep, well thought out story that steals your heart, makes you love bears and understand families. I felt like I was right there with Minnie and Garrison. I could feel their love, their heartache and their passion. Every minute gave us something new and led this shifter romance to a wonderful ending.
The narration is what brings this story to life. It's very visual and emotional. Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross get it, and use their voices to give us every feeling. Kai's voice for Minnie is perfect, with a stubbornness that will not let up. We know she means business, and then she finds that warmth and passion. Wen plays Garrison with a grumpy, loner feel until he knows what he wants and his voice meets the change. Their duet style is flawless and I love how easily their narration flows together. They are the dream team for this book.

Oh I loved this one! At first I thought Minnie was a spoiled annoying girl, doing that to her neighbor. But when she realized that maybe she was overdoing it, she calmed down a bit, and we got to know the real Minnie. Which is quirky and sweet. Garrison is as grumpy as can be, and sworn off everyone. I felt for him and what he went through. I really liked them as a couple, they really balance each other.

Awesome Story & Narration🎧 Captivating & Heartfelt
This fabulous shifter romance and I loved everything about it, from Nicole Garcia’s wonderful writing style to the characters and storylines she created to Kai Kennicott & Wen Ross’ awesome narration. This book is captivating from start to end, it had me at the first chapter, “Yaak, Montana. Population Me.” and Garrison’s attitude and grumpiness then going all alpha on the new comer. He is a loner and wants to keep it that way. Minnie is happy to be at her new home, she loves nature and is happy to be away from the city. She refuses to let Garrison intimidate her, she is intrigued by him and is determined to make him like her. I loved the back and forth between them, how she baits him with her over the top goodness. He feels the connection but continues to fight and deny the chemistry between them. I loved how everything plays out in this book, there is a lot of depth to the story and it is plotted out nicely the surprising twists, the history, why Garrison had so much inner anger and when he finally lets go. It was great how Minnie finds out he is a shifter, it was also great how accepting she was. I highly recommend this wonderful story, it is enjoyable and entertaining with a whole lot of heart, hot romance too. Thank you Nicole Garcia for another amazing book!!
Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross are awesome narrators and voice artists. They do an amazing job portraying the characters, bring them to life and capturing this personality, attitude and emotions, all of which is projected into their performance. Wen’s take on Garrison was spot on, as was Kai’s Minnie, they sound just as I pictured they would. They are entertaining storytellers and their duet performance is always a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fabulous listen🎧

Best MF shifter story ever!
This was a nice surprise, I remember picking it up to listen without reading the blurb and the name didn't click, so I didn't know it was a shifter book Lol If I knew, I probably wouldn't listen at the time.
I can't say this is super unique, but it wasn't a cookie cutter either. I like the way the relantionship progress, it was hate-love WITHOUT insta-love even though they were fated to one another (they didn't know this until about the very end). It was so funny see those two bickering with each other, driving each other crazy. But deep down, they were beginning to like each other. Also, there is no pack or clan, Garrison is a lone shifter bear, grumpy as h*ll with a traumatic past event.
The narration was amazing. I really love Wen Ross voice and narration, pairing him with Kai Kennicott is always a great ideia, they compliment each other :)
- There is a HEA;
- There is NO cheating;
- Medium to Slow-burn;

enjoyable
Whilst I am not normally a fan of paranormal/shifter type books I can say that I did enjoy this book. The characters were well suited to each other. Opposites attracting and all that. The duet narration was on point and thoroughly enjoyable adding to the characters and their stories. The only criticism I have was around the heritage of Garrison's parents. Hota mentioned that mum was a bear but dad was not. But later in the book both parents were shot in bear form. I was unclear as to whether I misunderstood the situation or whether it was something in the writing.

Omgoodness I could not stop listening to this book. I’m so glad I started it on my day off. I was captivated the entire time. I loved the characters and how they all came together in the story even though Minnie & Garrison had a rough start. I wish I would have seen a little more of the bear but I enjoyed it just how it is. I love the narration and how they showed so much feeling in their characters. I definitely recommend this book.

Garrison & Minnie!

Such a wonderful book
Oh how I loved this storyline. The perfect balance of love/hate in the new relationship. These characters are so funny as well. It’s easy to fall in love with them. Fantastic performance from both Kai and Wen.
