The white-washed Italian villa is perfect. I thought it might feel odd, living in a stranger’s house for the summer, but as my husband and children swim in the infinity pool, I start to relax. And then, in the back of a wardrobe, I find something that shatters everything.... Sparkling green eyes, square jaw, lopsided smile. A young man with his arm around a beautiful woman. The picture is old and faded, but I’d recognize him anywhere. The man is my husband.

Good suspense thriller from beginning to the end.
What made the experience of listening to Because She Loves Me the most enjoyable?
I couldn't quit listening because I wanted to know what came next. Good character development and writing. Totally enjoyed it, and was surprised by the ending.
What other book might you compare Because She Loves Me to and why?
Gone girl by Gillian Flynn. Because it was a twisty suspense about love gone bad that had you going right up to the end. The ending was unexpected. Some of the characters you loved and hated, then your perception of them later changed. People can be creepy and real psychotic. It also reminded me a little of Stephen King.
Which scene was your favorite?
Can't really say one scene/part stood out. I liked the whole book.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes. But it took me two days not one. I alternately read the book, and listened to the audible version when I couldn't sit and read.
Any additional comments?
New author for me. I really enjoyed it. He is a good writer with good character development, and a good story. I like a good suspense thriller, and I look forward to reading/listening to more of his books. The author has a great imagination and had written the book on similar things that happened to him.

Surprise Ending Not Credible
Some interesting plot points, but unfortunately the characters were contrived and their behavior unrealistic. Also, all the women sounded like upper-class Brits with bulimia and tongue studs. The raspy, lispy tentative narration drove me nuts--sorry.

Entertaining Distraction
Despite the somewhat clichéd storyline, I really enjoyed this book!
There is only so much you can do with a psycho-girlfriend plot, and I can’t say that this author came up with any new twists in the genre, but nevertheless I was kept guessing.
It was a satisfying and entertaining distraction.

Amazing Thriller- Absolutely Loved This Book!
I was pleasantly surprised with 'Because She Loves Me' by Mark Edwards. I was hooked from beginning until the end. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I hadn't been able to 'get into' an audible book for some time and the narrator, characters, and story in 'Because She Loves Me' had me listening every chance I could.
We have a single man who was orphaned at a young age. He meets a lovely girl one night at a pub and doesn't hear from her for awhile. When he does finally get the text weeks later, he sees her again and they become inseparable. They fall into a deep kind of crazy love that one reads of in romance novels and fairy tales. However.. as we all know, if something or someone seems too good to be true, that's generally the case.
Strange things start to happen and everything points back to the girl, Charlie, and her sketchy mood swings and her seemingly unknown past. The longer we know Charlie, the weirder things get..
Edwards has a knack for building suspense and he does not fail to exceed his readers' expectations. Bravo Mr. Edwards! You are officially one of my favourites- thanks for a great, satisfying read.

Slow Pace, Annoying Female Characters
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I can't say, really. I didn't finish the book, as it was going at such a slow pace and the writing was so mediocre. The narration of females was so jarring I had to grit my teeth to get though it. Not worth the credit.
What was most disappointing about Mark Edwards’s story?
The mediocre writing.
What didn’t you like about Napoleon Ryan’s performance?
He didn't narrate women well at all, he made them sound daft and pathetic.
What character would you cut from Because She Loves Me?
All of them.
Any additional comments?
Not worth the credit.

I couldn't stop listening, even thou I wanted too. The story was good but the constant self talk and analyzing by the main character was exhausting! I needed to take breaks because the constant internal dialog from the main character was way too much. Overall it was a good story and did not see the end coming. A few disappointing things.
I am a bit disappointed with this one, after thoroughly enjoying Here to Stay and The Magpies I was excited to begin the next novel I had purchased from Mark Edwards, but I found it no where near as good as the previous. Firstly the sex scenes and smutty sex talk I found a bit unnecessary, it sounds like a sexually frustrated young male talking, a bit tacky, not to sound like a prude, just a little over the top I think. I found it embarrassing when I had this audiobook playing out loud at home I would have to run to grab remote to turn volume down.
Second issue was I started to dislike the main character, his constant inner dialogue and failure to act like a rational person became tedious. I dislike pathetic characters and found some in this book to be just that.
Overall I don’t think this was on the same level as the others I have read. Only plus was the reader I found excellent, I liked his take on female voices and thought he did well with them. He does have a gentle voice which I found soothing reading whilst going to sleep.
