Better if heard after the movie

If you want to get the most out of The Batman, save this solid origin story for a supplemental experience. It's a good story, if brief, but sheds a bit too much light on elements of the film best experienced firsthand. Definitely recommend it after seeing the movie.

An excellent prologue before the film

As we know The Batman is a year 2 film where we will see a younger up and coming Batman, rather than another origin story and going from there with the franchise. This book serves as an excellent prologue how Battinson became the man we will see in the movie, how he begins his mission and ultimately how he begins as Batman. Batman’s origin story is one almost everyone knows, and this one does a good job of sticking to the details of that while making it feel fresh and modern. We see a man solely consumed by his mission to clean up Gotham and meet the key characters of the film in between. No one is more determined than Bruce Wayne, and this franchise will make no exceptions to that. Looking forward to the movie in a month! Any bat-fan will enjoy this book with a new telling of Batman’s beginning moments and the shaping of Edward Nashton. Enjoy!

I love Batman🦇

I finished this in one go while making a lego batman set. The narration was good. Story was easy to follow, and most importantly it builds the world of Gotham City. This gives us a deeper look into the Riddler and Bruce Wayne (Year 1 Batman).

Great Story For Batman Fans

The story in this book draws from a lot of different things from both movies and print. On one listen I found elements from the Dark Knight movie and the book The Dark Knight Returns. A great quick listen for fans. I

Meh

Overall, very mediocre and not very compelling. For example, the old lady getting her purse stolen in a dark alley. Come on Mr. Author you have to do a lot better than that. If the new Batman is going for dark, gritty and violent. This story turns out to just be generic, slow and plodding. I just don’t buy that this version of Bruce Wayne would ever become the Batman.

Very promising "prequel" if you will

Gives a bit more of insight to The Batman movie mythos. Engaging story, just wish there was a bit more story through year one. Overall very satisfying and narrator, very good voice. Makes it very engaging

Meaningless "Prequel"

This is by far the worst Batman story I've ever heard. Huge waste of time and thought it would have made a decent bridge towards the story of the movie but it was a cheap quick buck and waste of time to listen to.

Loved it but it’s missing.

I loved this audio book but I find myself buying audio books and not liking them wish the reader had more enthusiasm maybe some musical score playing in the background I know I know it’s not a movie but I love when audiobooks (Star Wars Novels specifically) do that it makes me feel more immersed in the world

The Batman

Hella good story i really liked how it gave a pre-story. I know that’s the whole point but it answers a lot of my questions from the film. Definitely worth the credit.

True Batman Fans should Skip This

The voice performance is well done, but the story is predictable and unimaginative and an awful swing at an origin story that was wisely kept out of a very good Batman film. This was a waste of an audible credit.
