Publisher's Summary

Some wounds only love can heal.

I never thought Nicole Prescott would walk back into my life - adorably drunk and dropping things, no less. But here she is, more beautiful than I remember.

She’s been hurt, and I understand pain all too well. But I shouldn’t be the guy to help her through it. I came home to get my own life together. I can’t pick up the pieces of hers.

Ryan Jacobsen and I were kids together, but he’s all man now. Sexy and sweet, with brooding green eyes that hide a universe of secrets.

His stubbly jaw, delicious abs, and artistic soul make him irresistible. (And have I mentioned the things he can do with his tongue?) My heart - and my body - want more. They want everything.

Although the gravity between us is inescapable, he tries to push me away. The pain behind his eyes holds him back, and it just might tear us apart.

A MUST LISTEN AUDIO!!!

I am in awe of this "new to me" author, Claire Kingsley, and give her kudos for delivering an amazing heartfelt story, with genuine, flawed characters with real life issues. This is one of the most perfect, imperfect stories I've listened too. I'm so glad I gave this author a shot.

Some Spoilers:
I don't want to spoil any of the story, but want to provide a few details to help you decide if you are interested in listening. Must Be Love wasn't an overly emotionally draining story, but all throughout the audio, you will feel a variety of emotions, especially towards the end. There were several laugh out loud moments, and I especially loved the grooming scene, it was hilarious!

This story is told from dual POV's, but I fell in love with Ryan's character. He was sweet, caring, complex, but also realistically flawed. He's been to dark places in his life, and listening to his character go through the ups and downs while depression was slowly taking over pulled on my heartstrings. For anyone who's suffered or knows someone who suffers from depression will be able to relate, and find these scenes realistic.

Ryan's a professional photographer who not only takes pictures of models, but of ordinary women. He makes them feel sexy, and special. Some of these scenes were erotic, and lead to some steamy hot sex scenes.

The narration was great! I don't recall listening to either narrator before, but it did take a few chapters to adapt to their voices and narrating style, but once I did, they really brought me into the story.

Must Be Love was awesome, well written and had me hooked from the first chapter. It was well worth the time. I bought this audio on a whispersync deal, but feel it's worth a credit. I recommend the audio, and with Audible's Great Listen Guarantee you can't go wrong.

Loved it!

Nicole & Ryan's tale is a beautiful story!! The first in the Jetty Beach series and I can't wait for more!!
Male narrators voice is a bit off & female narrator sounds too young to be a 27 yr old.

The story is definitely geared toward young adults. The narrator is average. Overall it’s good.

I would love to visit Jetty Beach!

After devouring the Bootleg Springs series and hearing Jonah Bodine Jr was from Jetty Beach, I knew I had to go back and give them a read.
Or listen.
And lucky for me, they are in the romance package so I just downloaded it and dove right in.

This is a sweet story of two people who are thrown back into their hometown and are trying to find their way on this new path life has created for them.

Ryan and Nicole are an unlikely pair, but they just click. They are the couple you cheer for because enough stupid has been thrown at them and they deserve a good, happy life.

If you haven't read a Claire Kingsley book, this is a good one to start with (although her Book Boyfriend series and that Bootleg Springs series are where I got my start).

Go forth and venture to Jetty Beach. I think you'll have a good time.

3.5 stars

Despite some of the topics in this story I found it to be a light read. It was cute and I liked the small town feel. I wish it would have gone more in depth though. I needed more of Ryan's past and his struggles. Since all that came to light towards the end it felt rushed. Overall I enjoyed this book.
Narration
Female: Would have liked a little more distinction between characters.

I loved this story and the readers.

Claire Kingsley is such an amazing author and this series I have a feeling will just confirm that.

I loved the back story on both characters.

Nicole, an event planner, catches her boyfriend cheating on her and after breaking down at work finds herself back home in Jetty Beach.

Ryan is a photographer who suffers from depression. He remembers Nicole from high school but she was unavailable.
When the two of them are paired together to help organize the towns art festival, the sparks fly.

BJ Pottsworth and Kimberly Roelle did a good job of telling the story.
I do wished they could have used different voices for each character as it was hard sometimes to tell who was actually speaking.

I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

Ok Story - Narration not so much 😕

I love Claire Kingsley’s books. She’s one of my favorite authors. I have read pretty much everything except this series.

The story was ok but there were some parts of the book I just didn’t connect with. The boudoir scene felt like a line was definitely crossed. I understand the premise of it and get that’s not his normal MO, but it just felt very unprofessional and gave me very yuck vibes.

The audiobook really fell flat for me. The narration was inconsistent. There were times I had no idea who was talking because the voice changes were in the wrong place or nonexistent.

I will definitely continue on with the series because Claire Kingsley is one of my favorites and I trust her writing.

Grown woman acted like an immature teenager

I had to quit listening because here’s a grown businesswoman acting like an insecure teenager by listening to people talking around her. I couldn’t listen to any more ridiculousness. Story could’ve had a decent plot had the character’s personality matched her supposed persona.

I have missed Jetty Beach!

What a spectacular Audiobook! I am a huge fan of this series, having the chance to go back to Jetty Beach, and revisit some of my favorite characters, listening with such fantastic narration brought Ryan and Nicloes story to a whole new level!
I am ready to move onto the next one!
If you have not read/listened to these, I highly suggest checking them out!

Boring

No lead up, no pent up feelings. It was just meh. Narrators were good but lack of storyline lost my attention quite rapidly. This was a DNF for me

Intense

I'm loving how mental illness is openly being talked about than ever before and this story shines a light on Depression so well. We get to see how things shifts, how a relationship is like when you have that monkey on your back. But the story telling is done so well I was really moved, when the hero is describing why he shoots Boudoir photos of women be it for anniversaries or just to spice things up at home, I could visualise it as was how supportive and relatable the herione is. She didn't know he had depression, didn't see the signs but she's there 100% and this is a learning curve for people who don't know about it. I'm grateful I stumbled on this book. Thanks.
