Publisher's Summary

International best seller Ava Miles brings you another heartwarming stay-up-all-night story with this first novel in The Unexpected Prince Charming series, about a woman who goes to Ireland in hopes of a second chance at life, and finds love in the most unexpected man.

Art teacher Angie Newcastle’s life is all monotone.

She wasn’t always this dull. She’d been an up-and-coming artist with the world at her feet. But after contracting the Wrong Man Syndrome and spending years doubting herself, she no longer recognizes herself.

When she loses her job, she can’t afford to keep ignoring the obvious: Her life needs a serious overhaul. And she knows exactly where to start: in Ireland, teaching art classes to her ex-pat cousin’s village community.

Angie expected the golden fields beside her ancient Irish cottage to inspire her. She didn’t expect them to be populated by sheep sprayed with uplifting words. And she certainly didn’t expect anyone like their owner, reclusive sheep baron Carrick Fitzgerald, or the matchmaking ghost determined to bring them together.

Neither want to find love - especially Angie, who’s on a self-imposed man-fast because she doesn’t want her life to take another nosedive. Only she slowly realizes that Carrick is the most unexpected of Prince Charmings, and that he might help her make all her dreams come true.

Sweet story

I really liked the story and will read the next book. I didn't love the reader's pronunciation of the Irish words or especially liked her voice, I've heard worse though.

If you love Hallmark movies...

This is the first audible book that I could not finish. Clearly, I am in the minority here, but I've never listened to a book that induced more eye rolls and more cringing than this one. Everyone in the book was "damaged." And the internal dialogue for each person made this point. Over and over. And over. Lines like: He wasn't anyone's hero. (dramatic pause) Not anymore. Lots of dramatic pauses, whining, and over-the-top reflection on every conversation, touch, look. Part of this may have been from the narrator. One character (sister) always sounded on the verge of tears or hysteria (I sort of wanted to slap her. I think I was supposed to feel sorry for her). Another character always sounded angry (Pretty sure I was supposed to admire her feistiness. I didn't.) Plus, the woman was in her 50s and the narrator made her sound like she was 80 with an "old woman" voice that didn't really fit the character. The men sort of all sounded alike, though the narrator did do an admirable job sounding like a man with an Irish brogue. The "funny" bits weren't funny (the model audition was so stupid I wanted to jerk my earbuds out of my ears to stop the pain), just slap-stick nonsense that wasn't funny at all. I wasn't bothered by the existence of the paranormal element, but rather by its schmaltzy execution. How many times do I have to know the ghost's dress was billowing in a breeze no one else could feel? After a while, I just couldn't take any more. I wasted a precious credit and hours of hoping and praying the writing would improve. Lots of folks gushed about this book, so I'll just chalk it up to this author simply isn't for me. I'm not a fan of Hallmark movies either.

I’ve read a lot of Ava Miles books and this one was exceptional I would often walk extra miles just so I could continue listening. I look forward to her book 2.

It really creates a big range of emotions

This book was absolutely captivating from the first chapter. I absolutely loved how each character was brought into the story. I cried of joy, laughed out loud ALOT and hated to see the end.

I am stoked for the next book in the series!

Missed the Irish accents!!!

Struggled to get thought this one. Part of it was the narrator, part was the pace of the story line. To much repeating of the characters problems. I do still love Ava's stories. I often return to her books for the happy ever after.

Another heart warmer

Ava has created another heart warming, feel good and thrown in bits of belly laughing situations listen. All the characters are good. And the narrator did a fabulous job. She created character visuals for me which ensure I will listen to the book several times. Thanks to Ava and Emily.

Disappointed

Another fantastic story, spoilt by the awful narration. Irish men don't sound like that, so maybe do more research first
