Even in his heyday in wrestling, Jacobs was inspired to pursue politics by popular libertarian figures such as former Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul, Republican Senator Rand Paul, Fox News' Judge Andrew Napolitano and others, and that led him to fulfill his own political ambitions. The wrestler-turned-politician hasn't hung up his wrestling boots yet. Politics is a contact sport and Jacobs is using his wrestling skills in that arena. It is a story of an era, a time in which the media and cultural landscape precipitated - and later supported - pro wrestling's mainstream popularity. **Revised and Edited Edition Now Available**
Justin Roberts always dreamed of being a ring announcer at World Wrestling Entertainment. From playing with action figures of the Ultimate Warrior, the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels, Bret Hitman Hart and Hulk Hogan to actually announcing these larger-than-life characters to the ring, Roberts lived out the dream of countless, passionate wrestling fans worldwide.
Best Seat in the House is the inspirational story of Roberts' ambitious journey to becoming a full-time ring announcer at WWE, performing all over the world and announcing weekly live events, TV shows, and the enormously popular pay-per-view spectaculars for more than a decade.
In addition to announcing the top wrestlers in sports entertainment from Nature Boy Ric Flair, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Sgt. Slaughter, King Kong Bundy, and the Iron Sheik to Dwayne the Rock Johnson, Stone Cold Steve Austin, John Cena, Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, Chris Jericho, and the Undertaker, Roberts also relives entertaining and candid moments with his real-life superhero coworkers, workplace politics, grueling travel schedules, harsh requirements of WWE talent, and the overall merciless treatment from the higher-ups whose decisions can affect nearly the entire wrestling industry.
This book is the all-access backstage pass for those who have always wondered what it would be like to work at WWE under the infamous Vince McMahon and travel all over the world in cars, buses, and planes with the biggest stars of professional wrestling.
Justin Roberts pulls no punches and gives you an uncensored, raw look at the journey of a young man chasing, catching, and living his dream.

Honest book detailing the life of a WWE performer
Been waiting for the audio version of this book since I first heard about it on the Pro Wrestling Torch. Justin offers some great insider insight to the world of WWE. He pulls no punches for those he was mistreated by, and he is very open about those who helped him in his career.
The book is one of my favorite wrestling books, but there is an element of sour grapes that taints story to some degree. I believe what he says has happened but there seems to almost be the element of "I believe you, but want to hear what the other side has to say about this too", but we don't get that here obviously.
The only other minor gripe I had was the lack of editing before the audio book was published. The book is littered with instances where a line is repeated or corrected without editing out the flubbed line. If you can get past that and have a thirst for what WWE is like behind the scenes, you'll probably enjoy this book a great deal.

Good Story but bad audio production
Great WWE insider information from a true lifelong wrestling fan by Justin. I believe every word spoken, those guys at the seem like real jerks and I could tell they chased true talent away. Either way great story, but due to audio repeat, skipping; and at times it appears as if Justin is drinking liquid while reading text.

decent story, terrible performance
this is the worst audible book I've ever listened to. I got through it because I enjoy the subject matter but he continuously smacks his lips or makes some noise with his tongue before he speaks. additionally, there 15 or 20 or more times when he reads part of a sentence and then it repeats with a second take. hard to believe no one edited that stuff out.

Like being a Fly on the Wall in the WWE
What made the experience of listening to Best Seat in the House the most enjoyable?
I just wanted to hear stories of the modern-day wrestlers I love to watch and an unfiltered version of how the bosses (i.e. Vince, Stephanie, HHH,etc) run the shows. Justin gives you SO MUCH MORE! I couldn't stop listening about what really goes on in the background of the WWE.
What about Justin Roberts’s performance did you like?
Nostalgia takes hold, you can't help it when you hear him perform the same announcements of the wrestlers intros like CM Punk or John Cena performed in the audiobook as he performed on television. Awesome reenactment!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The true story behind the "Conner's Cure" Organization. It a profound and revealing story in the book. When you hear the details yourself, the truth really do hurt as a WWE fan. I enjoyed the story, but very Sad. WWE should be ashamed for how they treated Justin in this aspect. They got away with murder.

It's okay, and this from a wrestling fan.
I wanted to like this book—I did. It's fascinating listening to Justin talk about his unique outlook and story.
But it's a little repetitive when he explains how he has been down-trodden throughout his career and how his perspective (being the passionate fan, knowing what the fans wanted) is the correct one and should have been listened to each and every single time.
Justin's story starts to sound like he couldn't go wrong.
If you've read the Bret Hart autobiography, it's essentially that in reverse. In this book, everyone overlooked him, and the authority hated him for the entirety of the book, and in that last chapter, it turns into "I really enjoyed myself."
This book is also poorly edited at times, and I even made a grimacing face while listening to it.
I found it a bit of a struggle to finish it, to be honest.

Great story, shame about the mistakes
Excellent insight to the WWE as a whole, with some truly shocking stories of bullying. Only thing that let's it down is the narrative being a little too excited at times (talks very fast on too many occasions). Some sentences are repeated too.

Mundane moaning
Probably the worst wrestling book I've ever read, Justin moans moans moans constantly about what he would of done, moans more about nobody believing that the ring announcer should be booking the biggest wrestling company in the world, just when you think the moaning is over he moans that the wrestlers were mean to him, nothing ever seems to be his fault but rather every other person in the industry stopped him from changing the wrestling world! The only interesting stories in this moan tome is when he's talking about the guys who went out their way to give him autographs or phone calls to his father, justin comes across as a fanboy on a wrestling forum and seems to think his job entitled him to a more privileged position which is why he comes across as bitter and ungrateful for the position that he did hold. All this is justified by Justin telling us that he was just trying to make wrestling better for the fans or that he spoke for the fans or the fans deserve better, well the fans do deserve better, they deserve much better than this struggle of a book, at one point he talks about burning his mouth on pizza and that was probably a high point of his story, listening to this book was like being in jail, I just kept waiting for it all to be over. I realise this is one long ranting paragraph but that's all this book deserves. If you really want a wrestling book with some decent and frank story's the get bob hollys book instead. You have been warned!

Jarring Editing
Justins story is one I throughly enjoyed listening to and learning about. He's had quite the adventure getting to where he is now and it's very good as far as wrestling autobiographies go.
What brings it down however is the editing. Very poorly edited with repeated lines and jarring cuts that kind of ruin what is otherwise a very good book.

Entertaining and unfiltered
Justin Roberts gives a great insight into his life before and during his tenure in WWE. His way of writing is refreshingly direct, giving a view behind the scenes of WWE that, unlike many other WWE talent biographies, doesn't smell of WWE's marketing department. Justin also performs greatly as the narrator, turning on his announcer voice to great effect.

It's a good listen but
As a lifelong wrestling fan, I enjoyed listening to this book. I really like Justin as a ring announcer so it's a shame to hear about how he had to dial it back while he was in the WWE. It gives great insight into some of the people behind the scenes and how they really are. However Justin comes across very whiny to me here and acts like he never put a foot wrong. I have no doubt that it was difficult to work in the WWE and for certain people, but you have to take things on the chin, learn from it and move on. Justin's book is a must if you're a wrestling fan, but it is very negative, towards the WWE in particular.

Wonderful read!
Thankyou Justin, I haven’t read a WWE book in a decade but after reading about the bullying in the company I wanted to hear your story. I always wondered why you left and think it’s their loss. Good luck! I finished the book in 4 days. Great stuff

A Different Point Of View
After being a wrestling fan for my entire life, and listening to/reading many different wrestler biographies and autobiographies the view Justin gives on his journey is enthralling, its funny, its sad, and as cliche as it sounds it was one great rollercoaster ride.
Being read by Justin himself gives it that authenticity, hearing him announce names like he used to on the show brought back great memories of hearing him.
This is a must have for any wrestling fan!
