Publisher's Summary
In this riveting novel, Danielle Steel reveals the dark side of fame and fortune, when a renowned film director confronts an act of unimaginable treachery.
BETRAYAL
At 39, director Tallie Jones is a Hollywood legend, whose award-winning films enjoy both critical and commercial success. With no interest in the glitz of Los Angeles, Tallie centers her life on her work and her devoted inner circle: her family, her producing partner and live-in lover, and her longtime personal assistant and best friend.
As Tallie is in the midst of her most ambitious film yet, small disturbances begin to ripple through her world. An audit reveals troubling discrepancies in the records maintained by Tallie’s trusted accountant. Mysterious receipts hint at activities of which she has no knowledge. Soon it becomes clear that someone close to Tallie has been steadily funneling away enormous amounts of her money. After an escalating series of shattering revelations, Tallie must face the harsh truth behind her seemingly perfect life: that sometimes trust can be the greatest illusion of all.

Redundant!!!
Would you try another book from Danielle Steel and/or Renee Raudman?
Perhaps
What could Danielle Steel have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Eliminate the redundancy that appeared throughout the entire book.
How could the performance have been better?
Write new material and don't repeat yourself over and over throughout the entire book!
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Betrayal?
I would have deleted over half the book by removing all of the redundant words and scenes. Then I would have given the unfinished script back to Danielle Steel so that she could write new original material to complete the story..
Any additional comments?
I never write reviews but felt compelled to write this one in case I can spare someone the misery of reading/listening to this book. It was clear to me the author, Danielle Steel, did not have enough original material to write about so she filled the entire book by repeating herself over and over again. It was horrible! I am so sorry I wasted my time and money on this dreadful book!

Never trust anyone
I found this book to be true to life. Don't trust anyone, no matter how long you have known them, and a good lesson, never tell any of your secret's that you don't want repeated, they say you can earn trust, but not true, you can only trust one person.GOD.

Painful to listen to
The story sounds good but by chapter one you could guess who the villains would be. The main character has amassed prestige from her work ethic yet she can not see the villains! The narrator is simply reading not acting at all! I listened at 125 for the speed and still she drummed on in a monotone! The details of the betrayal is said over 20 times by chapter 20..yup I counted! So much sadness...if you are depressed don’t read this..some characters have nothing to do with the plot...yet they have so many details about their lives woven into the story! Lord goodness ....don’t do it man..don’t read it! Go listen to all the books narrated by Dan john Miller for danielle steel and you will see the difference! Dude i hear that monotone in my sleep now! Help!!!!
