Minnie Cooper knows two things with certainty: that her New Year's birthday is unlucky, and that it's all because of Quinn Hamilton, a man she's never met. Their mothers gave birth to them at the same hospital just after midnight on New Year's Day, but Quinn was given the cash prize for being the first baby born in London in 1990 - and the name Minnie was meant to have, as well. With luck like that, it's no wonder each of her birthdays has been more of a disaster than the one before.

Sweet second chance story. Loved it!
Get ready for some sweet and tender romance, some humorous moments and a fabulous reuniting of two people who get their second chance at love in the great setting of St. Martin’s Cove in Maine.
This story is a quick listen but enjoyable. Second chance romances are a favorite of mine and this one was great. Dean and Sarah were friends in college and I loved learning about who they were and who they have become. I especially loved how they recognized the chance that they have to be bold and take a risk at discovering if the sparks and chemistry they feel is more than just that.
Their meeting, or rather "re-meeting" was fun and I loved the how Dean's dog Charlie was a part of it. And I loved Charlie's continued appearances throughout the book. Dean and Sarah's story is charming and kept me reading through the night. I didn't want to stop listening until I had finished the story. Even though this is a novella, the final chapter and epilogue were great and left me satisfied with the story.
If you're a reader who likes tasty recipes from authors when you read their books, there are two recipes in here that sound divine. One makes me want to head to the coast right now so I can get some fresh clams. Yum!
Content: Clean story with only some sweet kisses.
Happy Listening!!!

A sweet contemporary romance
This is a sweet second-chance-at-love story that sucked me into Sarah and Dean's world. Neither of them are looking for love but thanks to Sarah's walk on the beach at night she literally falls for Dean (and his dog Charlie). It's not until the next day when they see each other that Sarah realizes it was Dean she'd tripped over on the beach. Dean, from her freshman year ethics class. Dean, the shy guy she'd had a crush on 11 years ago. Little did Sarah know that Dean had had a crush on her too.
Don't you love these kind of second-chance-at-love stories? There's no baggage from previously dating each other and then breaking up, because neither knew the other had been interested. I loved seeing them learn new things about each other, and I worried when Sarah accidently found out Dean's "secret" before he could tell her. Thankfully she was adult about it and he could explain why he didn't tell her sooner.
I really liked the lack of angst, games or interference from friends and exes. It made this a quick and fun read about two adults reconnecting and getting to know each other. There are a couple of yummy recipes at the end
The narrator has a pleasant voice and did a wonderful job with the story.

MY TAKE
This novella is a delicious bit of sweetness, and I loved it! Dean had a crush on Sarah back in their freshman year in college, so it's a great surprise for him when they (literally) run into each other. What follows is a fun couple of weeks of them getting reacquainted and Dean falling all over again. My favorite part of a romance is the whole falling in love. This one is fun as Susan who'd kind of had a thing for him too all those years ago falls too. There are some stumbling blocks to get over, but the end is charming.
I loved how attentive Dean was for Sarah's comfort and safety. He was always watching out for her without being smothering. He reminded me of my husband. <3
