The latest groundbreaking tome from Tim Ferriss, the number-one New York Times best-selling author of The 4-Hour Workweek. For the last two years, I've interviewed more than 200 world-class performers for my podcast, The Tim Ferriss Show. The guests range from super celebs (Jamie Foxx, Arnold Schwarzenegger, etc.) and athletes (icons of powerlifting, gymnastics, surfing, etc.) to legendary Special Operations commanders and black-market biochemists. For most of my guests, it’s the first time they’ve agreed to a two-to-three-hour interview.

In Your Brain Is a Time Machine, brain researcher and best-selling author Dean Buonomano draws on evolutionary biology, physics, and philosophy to present his influential theory of how we tell and perceive time. The human brain, he argues, is a complex system that not only tells time but creates it; it constructs our sense of chronological flow and enables "mental time travel" - simulations of future and past events.

In our unique genomes, every one of us carries the story of our species - births, deaths, disease, war, famine, migration, and a lot of sex. But those stories have always been locked away - until now. Who are our ancestors? Where did they come from? Geneticists have suddenly become historians, and the hard evidence in our DNA has completely upended what we thought we knew about ourselves. Acclaimed science writer Adam Rutherford explains exactly how genomics is completely rewriting the human story - from 100,000 years ago to the present.

Great book, BUT......
I love this book and all the information I was able to glean from it. Ben absolutely knows what he's talking about, has done the research, and has written a book that is one of the best I've read in this category.
My only issue is that there is a lot of information I could not get too. Well over a hundred times during the reading of the book, Ben referred to additional resources and bonus material add a website. The website does not exist. I have written email to Ben and his organizations and have not been able to get the material. Many times he did not go into detail on a subject, and said to go to the website for more information.
What I got from the book was awesome, but it would have been nice to have the additional material as well.

Love the book! Seems to be catered to the wealthy
I loved this book!! I couldn’t agree more with what was presented. However, the vast majority of the things mentioned - organic food, machines used, health devices, supplements etc - are so expensive! I have a new business and a wife and three children. There is very little left after major bills. Are there resources for cheaper clean living???

Not worth the time
Ben puts in a big effort. but this book gives ideas that the common person isn't going to try because we don't have disposable income for gadgets that might or might not work. Ben simply is marketing an industry and tries to push the reader into buying ideas and products to build an industry. Pass on the book. all info is available free on Web youtube. he is just pushing his products too. He is trying to copy others Dave Asbrey Bulletproof by trying to create a market and capitalize on it. These guys are trying to sell stuff.

Don't believe the hype
A ton of good and interesting advice, mixed with a lot of pseudosciences. I liked the book for exploring a lot of topics and putting a lot of wild ideas out there, sure that's great... but then mix in ideas that sound reasonable and scientific, that absoluately aren't. Check out this review article: "Adrenal fatigue does not exist: a systematic review." if you want to understand what I mean. I rated this book low, in hopes that people would see this review and make sure they take everything in this book with a STRONG scepticism before rushing out to buy products pushed by Ben. I'd love to see a disclosure list of what he mentions in his book that he has received free product or kickbacks for. He makes money off affiliate links too. Again, the book is worth a listen as long as you do not treat it as gospel or sound advice. Lots of ideas to consider though.

Supplement advertisement
This book is nothing but a advertisement for supplements and tests I can understand why this person is well promoted now with so many company’s he’s sponsored by to push there products
It would be interesting if someone can add up the amount of supplements he’s taking each day
Your body needs real food not synthetic products to function as surprised he has time to train with all the tests he’s recommended and products to take each day and if your body is tired it or run down it lets you know
Thought this was going to be interesting book about new advice or research utter nonsense

Tonnes of valuable information
This book contains a huge wealth of information, with even more detailed resources on Bens website. I've studied this field for some years, and I can honestly say most of the information and advice here seems pretty accurate and up to date. There may be parts you disagree with, as I did, but even then, there's many opportunities to research further. There's probably to much advice to implement in your own life, but there's enough to change your habits and your health for the better even if you implemented just 10% of the advice.
Overall I found this informative, interesting, inspiring and motivational. My best purchase for some time.

Some of the information in this book was interesting but over the top ideas. If you have a lot of money to throw away then buy this book. As the advice is mostly to do with V02max testing, machines that simulate high altitude training DNA testing. As for his nutrition advice i wouldn't take it.. The guy has no idea what he is talking about. This book is him selling mostly himself and his products.

How Far Down The Rabbit Hole?
The audiobook is a non stop advertisement for his website & links to every chapter. I've payed my money already & don't want to be sold to ad nauseum for hours which raised my cortisol levels more than any over training. Lastly I just wish it was more succinct. Appreciate Ben is obsessed with bio hacking (he lost me at fluoride paranoia in public water) but just narrow it down not go on huge germaphobic rants - just tell me what really works what doesn't what's the best bang for your buck. Anyone writing in this space we're crying out for Biohacking on a Budget.

The one book every serious crossfitter, triathlon or sporting enthusiast must read!
With so much information online, in books, courses, seminars, blogs and so-called experts telling us how and when to exercise, it's amazing no one has put together the sorely needed information about what to do, eat, supplement, and how to live outside of training. Ben Greenfield has filled that hole to an absolute tee. I can't recommend it more highly for scientifically validated and innovative ways to 'hack' your life beyond training.
It's for anyone and everyone who puts in 100% at the gym, in training or in sports and knows there's something missing in that current program. Whether it be recurrent illness, injury, plateau or just general lack of mojo, Greenfield addresses these and so much more.

Comprehensive but over the top
This guy knows a lot but he thinks he has the answer to everything (or that he is the answer)

Really comprehensive guide to living fully
This book covers so many topics its hard to believe its only <500 pages. Was recommended this from my girlfriend’s mother and am really glad I listened to it! So many additional resources that it will take a while to sift through. Anyone from beginners to professional athletes could benefit from this book.

super dense and enjoyable
this book is amazing, you will get so much out of it
but be warned if you have a history of eating disorders or obsessive compulsive related issues id stay away because ben goes into such nuance that he could send people with those issues into troubled places. if you are someone who pushes their body to the limit and wants a new way to live this could be it.
he really is a master of his field.

Information overload... but still good!
Ben covers so much in this book, the information is quite intense! Very interesting though and great that additional resources are available to review. Well delivered and interesting.

Just listen to the whole book and loved the parts on recovery and making a good stock and broth. Will go back to the start and listen for anything else I might need....but yeah full of good info.
