Love, Love, Love This One!

Other than LOVING the title, the characters were warm and seemingly real. Real interesting, real funny and real. This is the best "what if..." kinda book that stays awhile after you've read/listen to it. I had slacked off on my exercising but while reading this I jumped back into it and lost a good 10lbs along with the main character. I am glad that the image that the main character is left with is a good one. We are what we are and no matter how much we might exercise no one will be what someone else is and its okay. I love how the best lesson from this book is BE YOU, be the BEST YOU! It doesn't matter what size you are as long as you are YOU and that is just fine.

Full of Humor and Life Lessons!

What did you love best about Big Girl Panties?

Loved the humor and wit as well as being a lesson for us all. Both of the main characters was able to learn from one another.

What other book might you compare Big Girl Panties to and why?

Jennifer Weiner's books (have read them all). Heavy girl with a great personality, witty, and gets her man.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Holly connects with Chase/Amaada (Logan's friends) and fits in and finds her new BFF.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Its not over until the fat lady sings

I look forward to reading more this author and Katie was excellent (wish she were reading more of the audible books).

Almost a great story!

This book was sooo close to being great! I was quickly hooked on Holly and Logan’s characters (flaws and all), and was growing borderline obsessed with the storyline...right up until Logan’s friends Chase and Amanda entered the picture. That is when this story went off the rails for me, and never fully recovered. Chase and Amanda are introduced to us at a very big turning point in Holly and Logan’s relationship, and I was crushed that story then placed its focus on them. Full disclosure: I had read “The Sweet Spot”, which details Chase and Amanda’s story, prior to “Big Girl Panties”, which actually equates to a miracle that I would even give “Big Girl Panties” a shot given the awfulness that was “The Sweet Spot”). I would have preferred exploring Logan and Holly’s characters and story more fully. This was just so close to being a great story! (A side note: I was drawn to both of these Stephanie Evanovich books based upon my adoration of the narrator Katie Schorr—one of my absolute favorite Audiobook performers! “Big Girl Panties” was good when it could have been great, but definitely do not waste your time on “The Sweet Spot”.

You don't give the person you love a shiner!

I was expecting a strong heroine. Instead I find a woman who gives her man a shiner, hitting him in public, after planning to do so for a week for no real reason. No straying, no lying, nothing. I understand the writer needed a conflict, but really? Not only the storyline turns ridiculous with her bullying but also the writing is flat.

Dislike-able "Hero"

I really disliked the main male character in this book. I found him incredibly shallow. It seemed all he had going for him was his good looks. And if that is all that there was that made Logan lovable to Holly, then that diminished my opinion of her. I actually enjoyed her character through most of the book, but the way she got revenge also lowered my opinion of her as well.

I wanted to be happy for Holly because she successfully changed her life for the better. Instead, in some ways her life became as shallow as his.

This book sent a very clear message about the negativity of obesity and made me believe that the author truly feels that someone who has struggled with weight her entire life is unworthy to be loved. It also attempted to make the male character's prejudices seem acceptable. And they are not. He was the one unworthy of love. Not her.

A bit different than expected

Would you consider the audio edition of Big Girl Panties to be better than the print version?

Can't say, as I have not read the book, just listened to the audio verison

If you’ve listened to books by Stephanie Evanovich before, how does this one compare?

Not exactly what I have come to expect from Evanovich. Far to "romancey" and not near enouch comedy & quirky characters for me.

Her voice is nice.

Don't think it really rates a film version.
