Story
Following the release of his best-selling series Living Among Bigfoot, author Tom Lyons was contacted by several individuals who were eager to discuss their own encounters with the mysterious Sasquatch species. After realizing how cathartic it is not only to share his own experiences but also to hear the encounters of others, he compiled this volume with the help of many folks who were brave enough to share their life-altering stories.

In this work on a subject too often dismissed as paranormal or disreputable, Jeffrey Meldrum gives us the first book on Sasquatch to be written by a scientist with impeccable academic credentials. He gives an objective look at the facts in a field mined with hoaxes and sensationalism. Meldrum reports on the work of a team of experts from a wide variety of fields who were assembled to examine the evidence for a large, yet undiscovered, North American primate. He reviews the long history of this mystery and explains all the scientific pros and cons in a clear and accessible style.

Story
It's argued that the recent search for Bigfoot officially began on September 21, 1958, when journalist, Andrew Genzoli of the Humboldt Times, featured a letter from a reader about loggers in Northern California concerning large footprints they'd found at a work site. What began as a fun article turned into an almost instant national sensation and since stories of the elusive creature have poured in, not just from California and the Pacific Northwest, but from around the world.

The woods and forests can be a true dichotomy of experiences. For many they offer a peaceful connection to nature, but for some they have been a source of terror. In the shadows of towering trees and hidden in the brush, these unlucky few have encountered creatures or monsters that most think only inhabit our nightmares. Steve Stockton, a veteran outdoorsman and paranormal researcher, has put together a vast collection of over eighty terrifying, odd and strange encounters. Like listening to a Jersey Cab driver
Stories are concisely written and flow is crisp and clean. I just get tired of the thick Jersey accent. " We sawr it in the clearing, and we both knew what we sawr." After hearing the word "saw" pronounced "sawr" two hundred times, it gets pretty annoying.

Horrible Narration
The stories were interesting for the most part.
However, the narration was beyond terrible.
The accent on that guy is hard to listen to.
I know what I "SAWRR".....ugggh
I "SAWRR" it... ugggh
The narrator ruined it for me BUT if you can stomach a hard Jersey mob type accent for a few hours, the stories are decent.

Hidden Gem
This book was highly enjoyable. I first decided to purchase and listen as sort of a fluke "why not" type decision, but I was hooked after the first story. I expected the type of eye witness accounts one usually encounters within this subject matter (Bigfoot/paranormal enthusiasts reciting the same tired old yarns), but Sheehan has compiled a truly compelling and fresh platter of strangeness for us to feast upon.

Great bigfoot book
Really great witness encounters. I've read alot of reviews about his thick Jersey-cab-driver accent. It didn't bother me. As a matter of fact, it made it more authentic, more enjoyable. I highly recommend this book if you like a good bigfoot encounter story.

The narrator is fine!
As many have said, yes he has an accent. However he speaks clearly and concisely. I had NO problem completely understanding everything he said. While he may have an accent, he’s reading the book, not playing the role of a cabby. So I guess some people feel an accent isn’t okay if it reminds you of a cabby in a movie or something. I quickly forgot about the accent and enjoyed the story.

A great listen
I love listening to W. J. Sheehan. A no-nonsense narrator who really does a great job of presenting the experiences in a clear and concise way.
If you love listening to people's encounters with some-might-say mythical creature then this series will be for you I imagine. The author narrates in a way that you get used to and for me, I found it an easy listen.
For me, my threshold for buying an audiobook is 7 hours - anything below that I don't really consider so the others in this series I wouldn't normally consider but, for this subject and this style I may well break my sacred rule!

Excellent accounts spoiled by mundane performance.
WJ recounts à great tale but falls short in dramatic ability. If these accounts were read by an trained actor these talès could be spellbinding, The accounts as re told almost sound like a shopping list as WJ ends one tale without punctuation whilst announcing the next chapter.
However I love your work WJ. Well done.

Puerile, cliched, ear grating rubbish
Where to begin?
This audio book is beyond appalling...
Rule 1 - Don't narrate your own book. Especially when you have an ear grating 'Joisey' accent and can't pronounce simple words properly, e.g. 'carbine' pronounced as 'carbeen', and many others.
Rule 2 - Don't overuse superlatives. It destroys the credibility of the story.
Rule 3 - Don't re-write or pretend to write other people's stories.
This book was like listening to Fran Drescher reading essays written by 12 year old creative writing students.
Absolute waste of a credit. Don't waste your time even if you're a total bigfoot tragic. Nothing to learn here, nothing to believe here and nothing to gain. Spend your credit on something else.
