Publisher's Summary

Three love stories, two billionaires, and one contested crown. Who will claim the title as king of Madain Saleh? Crown Prince Marcos Sayid is thrust into an arranged marriage with the feisty Hazel Marie Cohen, who thinks he’s a spoiled rich prince and refuses to even give him her phone number. A series of shocking revelations takes Marcos across the globe and back, all while he’s hoping to find his place in the royal family and his future queen.

His best friend and royal advisor, Alexander Cohen-Stephenson, once a typical college guy, had no idea he was heir to the Cohen fortune. When Alex learns of a government scandal, he finds unlikely assistance to catch the culprits from the spunky Krystina Clark. Unfortunately, there’s a huge possibility she could be involved with the scandal, and an even bigger possibility that Prince Marcos and Alexander will be implicated as well.

One generation later, young Prince Augustus Sayid follows his three older brothers’ bad examples until a night of partying leads to the car accident that nearly takes the life of his best friend, Alex Stephenson, Jr., leaving Gus devastated and facing jail time.

When Alex wakes from his coma, he’s challenged by the cynical and sarcastic Ellen Alaunus, a girl he would never have given a second glance had she not been standing at his bedside charged with the task to help him tell the story of his near-death experience. Meanwhile, Gus still has to face the consequences of driving while intoxicated by doing community service under the watchful eye of Phoebe Harris, the one girl who ever turned him down.

When King Sayid finally passes away, the young princes are forced to reevaluate how they represent their kingdom and agree on who will abdicate the throne and who will carry the mantle as king of Madain Saleh.

Another great Julie Spencer book!

I enjoyed how Billionaire Crown Prince is 3 stories in 1, and how they are weaved together, and I found myself smiling while listening. Julie Spencer is a talented, engaging writer, and I highly recommend this story. The narrator does justice to this entertaining story, and I had a hard time turning it off for dinner.

Great narration, lots of character

The narrator did an excellent job bringing this book to life. The voices were distinct, the pacing was natural, and the dialogue was engaging.

The story itself consists of three very distinct parts, and the transition between them is nearly non-existent. Which left me wondering why they weren't just three separate books in a series.

One of the uniting threads between each of the parts is the "love at first sight" motif that runs throughout. The first time or two, I thought it was sweet, but it soon became repetitive. Especially since every instance led to a hasty marriage, often because someone didn't want to wait to have sex. As a result, even though the circumstances were often different, the couples were not very distinct from one another at all.

And while the first two parts of the book were consistent with one another in terms of the desire to lead Madain Saleh and save its people from the tyranny of a potential future ruler, by the third part, everyone who could rule (from the US side of the family) abdicates the throne and we never hear anything more about what happens to the country's leadership. So it felt like the story got dropped in favor of following the kids of the characters we watched growing up in the first two parts. And the kids didn't hold any of the same values as their parents, which gave the story a completely different feel from the first two parts.

Overall, as much I enjoy this author and her work, this story was a bit "all over the place" for me.

multiple stories!

This book was way longer than I expected, but it was amazing! I felt like we got multiple books for expectation of one. I loved the different storylines and facets. The characters are all great and involved and I can’t wait for more.

Intriguing Story

This was an intriguing story spanning multiple generations.

I was captivated by the story line and the characters. Although I would have loved there to have been more fluidity in the transitions between the storylines.

Gus and Alex’s story seemed a bit rushed and would have preferred more of them together post accident.

The narration was well, the audio quality more on the fair side. It was easy to follow the narration and had a good use of character variation.

Multiple stories in one

I liked the plot of these stories. I wasn’t as much of a fan of the insta-love. But the stories had other components to them as well. There was a bit of a mystery in a couple of the stories. I listened to the audiobook. It was over 9 hours, so plenty of entertainment. I did like that each book introduced more characters and built of each other.
