Publisher's Summary

A world of sex, magic, and old gods awaits, and the LaMascares Mansion is the doorway....

Justin Devereaux has always been different, and not just in looks from his parents. His interests run to the magical and mysterious while theirs seem very pedestrian and small. The one thing that has always interested him and frightened them is the LaMascares Mansion. The mansion has sat long, seemingly empty and abandoned, but Justin feels someone in it watching over him.

Peren LaMascares has been trapped in the mansion on the hill for too many years to count. He needs a LaMascares’ heir to free him and bring about the family’s - and world’s - dark destiny. He finds that heir in the innocent, unsuspecting Justin.

Peren leads Justin into a world of sex, magic, and old gods. Will Justin abandon all the morals he’s ever had so that he can have the lust-filled passion that Peren offers forever?

Demonic and incest.

The narrator did a great job at reading an awful book. The description of this book is not accurate to what the story actually portrays. The main character is taken sexually by a very distant relative, but related none the less. Also by a demand they resurrected. If you are looking for a gay paranormal romance, this book is not it.

excellent performance, rushed perverted ending

the first 2/3rds of the story is very well built and tense Lovecraftian horror that simply SKIPS to the next bit...which covers dark and frankly perverted sexual content. Completely dubious non consentual sex with a literal demon and cult leader, while the underage or CLOSE to it male protagonist is in no uncertain terms raped and his parents forced to watch😅. yaaaa. There's also a large hole in the plot where the story simply Skips to the sex scenes.

It was ok....

I normally love the author but this story was difficult to listen to at times. The intimate scenes weren't sweet and loving, more sinister and almost rapey. ( If that's even a word)

The story is good, but ends abruptly

I really enjoyed the story, and the narrator does a very good job. However, the story feels very quick and doesn’t give much background. In general I wish it had been longer, just to let the story develop.

Badly done porn dressed up as a necromancer tale

Let me state that this wasn't a bad story. If it had been tagged as to what it is - PORN dressed up in a storyline, I think people would have liked it more. Let me state - it's not erotica. This was blatant, horribly written porn.

The description of the book does NOT match what the book is about. Not really. We only see Peron in 2 chapters. The story is about Justin and his fascination with the mansion on the hill and how that fascination is from a paranormal spirit.

But - as for the porn.. OMG I laughed myself silly at the horrible dialogue. It's the kind of dialogue you'd hear in a porno film. When they brought in the god who had a 17 inch - well I think you can figure out from porn what was 17 inches - I was laughing so hard my stomach hurt.

If the author/publisher had marketed the book as to what it is, I wouldn't have bought it. But I think it would have gotten better overall reviews.

It's kind of a shame, because if it weren't for the whole porn issue, the ending was intriguing. But after the porn section, I'd fear just two more hours of really bad dialogue.

Weird twist on good vs evil 😶

It goes to show you, one ever really knows. I like the whole mystery aspect of the story. Towards the end, it’s a wonder if there’s indeed such things as good and evil. I for one, have yet to meet an unflawed person.

Justin Devereaux is intrigued and fascinated by the LaMascares 🎭 Mansion, to the point of obsession. Dark. Truly dark. The mysterious man introduces young Justin to sex. As much as Justin wants to do what’s right, he’s disturbed and conflicted. Like I said, dark. And… it may not be for everyone. I have enjoyed Raythe’s Reign since 2017. Once again, a gripping story by X. Aratare. 💕 Perfectly, beautifully written. And a disturbing one! 😈

As far as narration by Chris Patton, wonderfully executed as always. -A fan. 💘

PS: this is a weird short horror story. Something I would expect cooked up in the 70’s. 😝 Definitely not romance.

Erotic horror

This is good. Darker than I expected but still good. More eroric horror than romance. The narrator was excellent.
