Story
Carl was a regular construction foreman. Not the worst, not the best, and definitely not the thinnest. Even so, he didn't deserve that heart attack! He really didn't deserve being reborn into a dog-eat-dog world as a dragon. To be fair, it’s nice to be at the top of the food chain. Now Carl just needs to learn how magic works, which monsters are safe to eat, and why his hoard is so important to him. Dealing with change is hard enough, but he has enemy dragons incoming, hostile environments, and foes constantly trying to get bragging rights by taking down a dragon.

Warner spent his days like almost anyone else. He got up, went to work, answered phone calls in a call center, went home, spent time with his daughter, and went to sleep. Only to repeat the pattern over and over and over. Life was as mundane as anyone could ever fear it to be. Today was the day that all that would change. On this day, his daughter Maya would be nearly fatally injured, plunging Warner into a world of paranormal creatures, monsters, and magic he’d never known existed. The only consolation is that he discovers he’s not quite human, either.

Publisher's Summary
Fear the reaper!
Reincarnated into the fantasy world of Skyhaven, James inherits the Necromancer System, the game-like interface of the most villainous sorcerer to ever threaten the world.
Granted fearsome and despicable abilities by the system, James must level up and embrace the power he's been given to usher in a new age of darkness and evil upon all of Skyhaven.
First, he'll have to navigate the cutthroat politics of the noble house he's been reincarnated into, using all of the skills and abilities at his disposal.
Even so, family isn't the only thing James has to fear. Necromancers stalk the streets of his home-city, spreading plague. If he fails, death is the very best he can hope for.
If James wants to escape daggers in the dark and an early grave, he'll need to become a true Lord of Souls.
Unleash your inner villain. Join James on his ascent to infamy and discover true evil by clicking "buy now" to begin an epic fantasy evil MC LitRPG adventure. A new era of villainy awaits!
Warning: This book contains graphic violence, gore, and elements of sexual abuse that some listeners may find deeply disturbing. This is not an anti-hero novel where the protagonist is "actually the good guy". If you like evil MCs, this is the novel for you."

new cover does not a story make
I purchased this mistakenly thinking I had not read it before. Oh, how wrong I was. the author just changed the cover.
This book has all the potential to be a great book, the story is there, the character development, the powers. however, I almost could not finish this book. it is so boring with the same things repeated endlessly on the story. the author tries to paint the MC as a villain. no where in this book does he do anything worthy of being a villain. this kind of misleading description makes me sick. the main character hides his powers for longer than he needs to. the "revenge" is nothing but the MC talking trash to people before killing them. in no way is he evil in the slightest! it is an insult! but worst of all a disappointment.
where are the cities destroyed? where are the men killed and the women enslaved and the children brainwashed into the MC cause? where are the enemies begging for death? where is the satisfaction of watching an evil main character do as he pleases and watching his enemies tremble in fear?
perhaps I have read too many good "bad MC" books but this is disgraceful. the plot is laughable and the endless explanations of things already explained makes me think this is a children's book playing at being about evil.

Seems like it was written by a middle schooler.
The prose is very redundant in it's wording and the author is fixated on sex. It's even worse when you consider the main character is about 13. The whole story is loaded with copious amounts of repetition. Constantly reiterating information provided in the same paragraph. Also, everything has to be the worst, the strongest, the most painful, etc. Please spend your money elsewhere.

This is not the worst book I have ever read
This is one of those books that makes me seriously question the audible rating system. This book isn't as bad as some I have suffered through, but it certainly is not worth 4.3 stars. If I was generous and related to the author, and he paid me I would give it a 3 for effort.
The MC is an all knowing, overpowered sociopath, The plot is bare bones. The motivations are basic. This is a paint by the numbers fantasy produced by a 12 year old.
I bought this while patiently waiting for something more interesting to occupy my time. I have suffered through worse, this book does not have harems, or overt sexism or racism so it passes. But the MC gives you nothing to cheer for. He is powerful and smart and stronger than everyone else and good looking and gets all the chicks... He kills anyone with impunity whether they be good, bad or neutral.
Sigh, this is modern society's hero archetype.
I felt sorry for the narrator having to slog through the material. Someone give him a hug.

I really like the constant development and great pace. It's just a huge problem in so many LITRPGS. And no annoying, mostly useless and permanent female attachments(it's how these characters are written, not factual).

A great read through and through!
Are you tired of a wimpy and coward MC? Being always nice and trying to save everyone grinds your gears? Tired of all the melodramatic nonsense that tries to tug on your emotional string but fail catastrophically ? Not another children's book/teen/YA. This book has some good mature/adult themes that are ACTUALLY mature/adult. One of the greatest thing about the story is the multi faction that connives and plots against one another, makes you smile dementedly.
This is one of the greatest powertrip with a side of hardcore revenge. The leveling system is kinda annoying with so much unnecessary padded xp , we could have used less. While it isn't perfect with the story, the theme of it all is so alluring, that it makes you forget the mistakes. I wish the author made more and for sure I will pre order it. I really love it.
