Publisher's Summary
From former Delta Force commander and New York Times bestselling author of Kill Bin Laden comes the first novel in an explosive new series
After September 11, 2001, Delta Force troop commander Dalton Fury was given the secret mission to hunt down and kill the most wanted man in the world, the details of which were recounted in his extraordinary New York Times best-seller Kill Bin Laden. Now, Fury draws upon his hard-won combat experience - and his gift for true-to-life storytelling - to offer a brand-new series of thrillers that are as close to reality as readers can get.
Meet Kolt Raynor. A Delta Force operator and one-time American hero, he is still trying to make sense of his life - and duty - after a secret mission gone bad. Three years ago, in the mountains of Pakistan, Raynor made a split-second decision to disobey orders - one that got some of his teammates killed and the rest captured. Now he’s been given a second chance to do right by his country, his men, and himself. But Raynor’s shot at redemption comes at a price.
A shadowy group of former colleagues has asked Raynor to return, alone, to Pakistan’s badlands. His assignment seems clear: find his missing men and bring them home. What Raynor never expected was to uncover a sinister al Qaeda plot to capture a Black Site - a secret U.S. prison - and destabilize the region. Meanwhile, a ruthless, unknown enemy is on his trail… and he will stop at nothing to make sure that Raynor’s mission is not accomplished. An intense, gritty work of edge-of-your-seat suspense, Black Site is the first of what promises to be one of the most exciting fiction series of the new millennium.

Exciting and Vivid!
I was in an Army airborne unit in Afghanistan stationed right next to the border, and although not a special operator, I could relate with a lot of what Kolt was experiencing, and it just brought be back in vivid detail! I was able to visualize almost everything! I especially like Dalton's writing because, unlike Vince Flynn, the language is realistic and there are really no lewd language or sexual references, which is just wholly unnecessary to create a great story. I find that all too often with Vince Flynn's content.
I didn't expect a story with a lot of twists and turns or a complex plot, but Dalton delivered! I got the Audible audiobook and there is an interview with Dalton at the end which I appreciated.
I seriously can't wait for the next one to get released!! Highly recommended!

Best of the genre ...
I've read all the "Espionage" and "Action Thrillers" greats ... Clancy, Berenson, Thor, Flynn, etc .... and if this looks like YOUR reading list, you'll LOVE this book and author. The book is more "grounded" than some, lacking Hollywood antics, and instead focusing on a great, plausible story and realistic dialogue. This is the best book in the genre I've read to date. Can't wait for the next installment.

Couldn't Get Into It
I tried very hard to get into this book but, it just didn't garner my interest. I did listen to the whole thing, just to get through it, but never felt like I wanted to continue listening, like I do with other books of this genre. I just never felt myself rooting for Kolt Rayner like I would for Mitch Rapp. Part of it could have been the narration. Ari Fliakos seems to never convey emotion and most of his characters sound the same. It was very difficult to figure out who was talking. Probably won't be continuing this series.

Loved the novel
What made the experience of listening to Black Site the most enjoyable?
The narrator made the experience of listening to Black Site the most enjoyable..
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Yes, the plot was one that allowed the author to create a novel filled with action and suspense.
Which scene was your favorite?
My favorite scene was when it was made known that the five Delta Force men, who were thought to be dead, were proven to be alive.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
There was one scene where I did cry. The scene involved the pilot who had been placed in a different area of confinement for the three years of the five men's imprisonment. He was not allowed to have any contact with the other four men.
Any additional comments?
Be sure to purchase, Black Site: A Delta Force Novel, you will not be disappointed. The men who have fought in the Afghanistan war need to write about their experiences. The novel is fiction but some of the actual events of the novel were experienced by the author. The author has a formidable story to share.

This book is awesome!
I love this genre. Read or listened to all the Flynns, Silva, Eisler, Coes. This book is right up there at the top. Great story, great character, no slow spots easy to follow and semi realistic for normal people probably very realistic for spec ops people. You can't go wrong with this one, worth every penny and minute of your time. The narrator was very good, the only reason he didn't get a five is because he didn't differetiate the characters voices enough but did a fine job. He wasn't boring or too slow.

I gave this high marks - Because...
It was pretty darn good. The Narration was great. The story was mostly plausible. To tell you the truth - I was really, really liking three quarters of the book. I was feeling it emotionally and intrigued. The ending didn't (kill) it overall for me. It wasn't bad - It just didn't rock me. I had a better time getting to know Colt in the beginning and listening to the transformation - Then I did listening to the end. High marks for Dalton Fury's 1st fiction Novel. The character and series have promise.

No Super Hero, Just a Great Operative
Ive listened or read too many thrillers featuring great characters with almost super human abilities. I liked them all, but it seems to me Mitch Rapp, Jack Reacher, the Grey Man, etcetera have been too good to believe. So I purchased Black Site with some prejudice.
What led me to this book was the author's recent background as Delta member himself. It was a wise decision.
The hero here is a decorated, but disgraced combat veteran who becomes a drunk after he leads his team into an ambush. He's called back into action because he is expendable. What follows is a tough and gritty adventure that leads to his own redemption. It is an extremely accurate tale of espionage and warfare.

Definitely a Mitch Rapp caliber book!!
What did you love best about Black Site?
Everything; this book is a great book and hopefully the start of a fantastic series.
What other book might you compare Black Site to and why?
Mitch Rapp series, many reasons hard to be specific.
Have you listened to any of Ari Fliakos’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, but Ari Fliakos's was great.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Everything about this book was just great!
Any additional comments?
Ari Fliakos gives a great delivery of the book. I just couldn't find a good place to stop finished the book in just a few days.

Fun read, I look forward to his next novel
Loved the book. I like action stories where the bad guys get wasted and this book does not disappoint. The hero is pretty much a super hero in many ways but it is a story, who wants normal?
The narration is very good as well.
