Publisher's Summary

Michael Connelly calls Karin Slaughter "unrivaled among thriller writers." This gripping, unforgettable short story - releasing shortly before Karin's highly anticipated new novel Pretty Girls - proves it.

A beautiful young girl was walking down the street - when suddenly …

Julia Carroll knows that too many stories start that way. A beautiful and intelligent nineteen-year-old college freshman, she should be carefree. But instead she is frightened - because girls are disappearing without a trace.

Fellow student Beatrice Oliver and a homeless woman called Mona-No-Name are missing, both gone after being snatched off the street. Julia is determined to discover the reason behind their disappearances - before she's next.

Disappointed

I loved the full story novel "Pretty Girls". Had I known this was an almost word for word "insert" in the Pretty Girls book I would not have purchased this. Seems a bit like being taken advantage of when you pay twice for same content....

Clip from another book

Basically a clip from another one of her books just a view from Julia's side before she's "taken"

That's it?

The ending was so abrupt I was shocked. It was like you were finally building up to the real story and then it was over. The story started out good and narration was great but the story line sucked. DO NOT BUY THIS, I was very disappointed.

Ends with a Twist and a Punch!

Outstanding and highly engaging story. The narrative really pulls the reader into the time and place of the story, evoking a strong sense of nostalgia (the story is set in the year I graduated college). I'm seeking out more of this author's (and this narrator's) work!

Prequel to Pretty Girls is PHENOMENAL

This book is fabulous! I don’t think it matters if you read this or Pretty Girls first, but this one is the back story and SIGNIFICANTLY less graphic than Pretty Girls. This book gives you the backstory to the Carroll’s, particularly Julia.

Just a teaser!

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I enjoyed what was int he story but it left me hanging. I feel that there is more to come and wish that I was informed so that I could spent my money on the entire story.

If you’ve listened to books by Karin Slaughter before, how does this one compare?

It compares well to other stories it just did not feel complete.

What about Kathleen Early’s performance did you like?

Read well with voice appropriately building the suspense.

Do you think Blonde Hair, Blue Eyes needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Yes because this story is not complete. There are too many holes that could use filling.

Not even a Book

What disappointed you about Blonde Hair, Blue Eyes?

It was the same info that was automatically included in the book 'Pretty Girls'. I was expecting the story to continue, but it was the same information as previously included in 'Pretty Girls.' I would not have purchased this book had I known. It was so short.

Would you ever listen to anything by Karin Slaughter again?

Yes, I believe that she is an excellent author. I really enjoyed 'Pretty Girls'.

Did Kathleen Early do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Yes, she did. Mostly because I had already heard this story before.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Yes, it could have been a great book, had she expounded on the abduction. I really didn't want gore and pain, I just wanted to know who and why.

Simply horrific content

This writer has a new constant reader in me. I suggest her to anyone reading these words. I’ve yet to be disappointed by her work.

So short!

Okay I admit part of this was my fault but I’ve listened to all of Karin Slaughters books and loved them. So I hardly noticed that this book was so short. A pointless book really. Total waste of an audible credit.
