Story
King Boric the Implacable knows death comes to all great warriors. He just didn't expect it to be so damn fickle. Felled by an assassin's blade, he should be spending eternity carousing in the Hall of Avandoor. Instead, his spirit is bound to his decaying body by the enchanted sword of Brakslaagt. And unless he can hunt down the mysterious Lord Brand, who gave him the weapon so long ago, he is cursed to wander the earth forever as an undead wraith.

Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Publisher's Summary
Bodega: Tales from the Bodegaverse contains all the episodes of Bodega previously transmitted via the Triforce Podcast, and heaps more Bodega action besides.
Bodega. Lover. Sniper. Thief. Scourge of the wicked. In fact, scourge of anyone if there's money to be made. A lawless man in a galaxy overrun by villains, Mork beasts, Dildonians, and the dreaded imperial forces of Crem Slumdump. Aided by his otherwise unemployable crew of drunks, criminals, assassins, and broken down combat droids, Bodega seeks fortune, and trouble seeks him. Armed with his array of hi-tech gadgets, and of course his famous las-gun, Bodega careens around the corners of the known Universe in his ship, the Disco Volante, guided by his unique sense of justice, and his love for the psychic entity known only as Majesta.

Fun but anticlimactic
The stories and settings are fun, entertaining, and very creative - but it's pretty anticlimactic. Forsyth has great ideas and setups, but often fails to follow through on them in a satisfying way.
Overall a fun enough book with good narration by the author.

Interesting, thrilling, fun and in you’re face theme
Interesting, and thrilling with a superb performance from the author. Though as a personal preference, better follow through of the story would make it a 5 star overall, with that said it’s not that type of a book. And if u find this book interesting I saw that some of the part are “animated” on YouTube, Worth watching !!!

Good read but flawed execution
This is an interesting title. As a listener of the podcast, I've watched this grow from a spitball idea to a full fledged book. When I saw the opportunity to listen to it as an audiobook, I had to take it.
After listening, I have mixed impressions. The ending was great, if a little misdirected. Not all of the humor hits, but there is good stuff in here. Forsyth also displays a lot of entertaining writing, either as engaging takes on worldbuilding or situations that don't pan out quite how you'd expect. I loved that.
However, there are things that felt lacking - specifically the story cohesion, direction, and pacing.
The beginning chapters were written episodically and released on the podcast prior to making it in the book; it shows in the final product. Character arcs come and disappear like the author was trying to figure out just what this story would be along the way.
Too much of the story was dedicated to demonstrating Bodega's character. There are plenty of times where his character being a typical action hero trope to the extreme is funny, but there are other times where it came off as redundant and a drag on story pacing, particularly the middle part of the book before things begin to change up a bit.
Because of these mixed impressions, I am very interested in seeing where the author goes with the next book. I think he has real talent that could prove an entertaining read should he be able to take some of the feedback I have been seeing in these reviews and continue to refine his writing. I will definitely be picking up a second book should it show up here.

Best thing since the Triforce Podcast
I listened to the chapters way back when Edward/Pyrion was writing them and sharing it on the Triforce Podcast. When I saw that there was an audiobook version out, I had to get it. Pyrion weaves a captivating storyline into a colorful and creative sci fi universe, and I had trouble pausing it.
10/10. If you're looking for an independent sci fi book to get into that has had tons of love, care, and wit put into it, Bodega is the way to go.

Half the book from the podcast without sips/Lewis adding value
Don’t get me wrong, I have purchased the audio book to support PFlax and it’s a tremendous feat to compile such a book
So I tip my hat off to him, My personal opinion is that this book doesn’t feel the same as just a single narration from just PFlax.
Part of the original charm was the critique by Lewis & Sips. Perhaps multiple voice actors to include them could have been a nice touch?
I’d still buy a sequel to continue supporting you PFlax
Keep up the good work

An entertaining introduction to the Bodegaverse
As an avid fan of both the yogscast and the Triforce podcast, I was not disappointed by the extended work put into the Bodega Universe. The story, although a little fragmented in places, captured my attention and in places genuinely left me on the edge of my seat waiting for resolution, particularly in the later half of the book. The writing style invokes Douglas Adam's Hitchiker's Guide, its comedy and general tone very much on par. The universe is fantastically fleshed out, filled with larger-than-life characters that while at first seem based upon tropes, do certainly develop and come out into their own. The combination of simultaneously assuming the listener (or reader) understands the mysterious alien technology or weaponry while also delving into deep and complex explanation of some minor detail keeps the flow of the story remarkably well. Forsyth's delivery of the story is excellent in places, but often I feel fails to convey some emotion or sense of dramatic reveal, particularly in ending lines of chapters. While his voices, speed and mannerisms gave for an enjoyable listen, I think time could be taken to deliver important lines, grand finishes and sudden developments could be improved as I often felt jarred out of the experience by a seemingly hastly delivered paragraph finisher (with the exception of the podcast content). Overall, an excellent read for existing fans of the Bodegaverse, delivering on the promise made for more Bodega content and leaving me wanting more, with only a few minor criticisms. I can't wait for the next instalment.

Flarving incredible!
I loved hearing the stories every week on the Triforce podcast and it was a sad day when they stopped being included, it felt like a part of the podcast was missing. But to see the story completed and to such a high quality is incredible, the writing is top notch and the Tamira focused store is possibly one of my favourite Sci-Fi concepts of all time. I thought about buying the physical book when it was reelased but I needed to wait to be able to hear the man himself read it, it wouldn't be Bodega without Pyrion's narration. Incredible stories Pyrion, now for the love of flarv get working on the sequel!

Sensational
As a fan of the Triforce podcast of which this story was originally birthed, being able to experience it in it's entirety was a treat. The first good chunk of the book are strung together tales to help introduce you to this outlandish universe and the equally outlandish protagonist Bodega, story wise they're not particularly gripping, but they are definitely entertaining. Excellent to listen to over a roadtrip as I did, story definitely picked up about 2/3 through as a more overarching plot started developing and Forsyth really came to grips with the world he'd developed. The characters were all lovable and entertaining with an excellent amount of personality.
Hearing the author himself narrate the story with the personality and accents they invisioned whilst writing is definitely a huge bonus, especially coming from someone who began their Bodega experience with Mr. Forsythe reading the first few chapters and he wrote them for his Triforce podcast (definitely worth a listen on Spotify if you're a fan of this). This audio book is in my opinion the definitive way to experience this book.

The chapter titles were out of sync with the chapters and so it might be missing the end credits. But other than that, the book was amazing and Mr Forsyth's voice enhanced the storytelling profusely. Thanks Pyrion.

A fun book and a joy to listen to. the book starts as a collection of short stories and slowly runs into a more coherent novel type story. the storys range from silly and outrageous to more serious sci-fi concepts. the paceing was a little strange but if you can overlook that and not think to hard about possible inconsistencies then it was a great read. The authors notes from Forsyth are a nice touch.

Fun the whole way through
I really enjoyed the story and the voice acting, and the authors notes were a fantastic addition. you can tell ted had as much fun narrating as he did writing it. an unforgettable experience, especially for fans of sci fi

Hilarious But Disjointed
I love Pyrion's writing style, I just wish he connected his stories a bit more

Give me another!
After hearing the teasers in the triforce podcast I knew I had to have more, I bought the book but it wasn't enough! The voices and emphasis used just right by Mr F himself were 100% worth the buy.
If you enjoy the concept of a crass idiot in space that just happens to be an unexpected hero/murderer then this is the story for you!
