Publisher's Summary

The women's league is in the house! And Brooklyn will never be the same again for Anton Bayer and the team....

This is my last chance to ditch my playboy reputation and finally fulfill my potential. So I’ve made three rules for our biggest season yet: no boozing, no women, and no scandals.

Especially that last thing.

So who do I befriend on the very first day back at the rink? An amazing female hockey player. I want Sylvie in a way that’s more than just friendly. I crave her. But I have a championship to win, and so does she.

Then she gets her heart broken by my teammate, and I make the foolish mistake of comforting her in the best way I know how. Our night together sets off a string of sins.

Nobody can know about our affair, especially my overprotective teammate. I can’t let anyone see into my greedy little heart. Not even her.

The things I want from her, and the things we’ve already done? If anyone knew, there’d be bombshells.

Contains: a defenseman with dreamy blue eyes, a female goalie with bad ideas, a major battle of the sexes, and a swimming-pool scene....

Baby Bayer

Absolutely LOVE baby Bayer!!! Anton Bayer has finally after screwing up one too many times and being scared he will loose his spot of the Brooklyn Bruisers hockey team, to clean up his act. No more partying, alcohol, girls (aka puck bunnies), and whatever else he shouldn't be doing. He's got his last chance to continue playing hockey. Little did he know this blond bombshell would be his undoing in the girl department. From the first hairpin, he's done for. Sylvie, having spent the better part of the year mourning her mom's death, never expected to be playing professional women's hockey in the US or for the 'sister team' of the man she had always dreamt of marrying. Please note this is not a love triangle. Bryce and Sylvie are not romantically connected, it's just they both thought they would get married since they grew up together. Anton and Sylvie find a fast friendship as workout/running buddies. They both feel their is something between them but it takes awhile to give in. Once they do, they become more of a friends with benefits despite the hair pins popping up everywhere (signs from Sylvie's mom). It doesn't take long though for our baby Bayer to realize he is in love with Sylvie and once Sylvie lets go of the past she knows it too. Now there is no stopping the hockey duo. Their love is strong enough to melt the ice!!!!! Sabrina did a great job too depicting the disparity between gender equality in sports, I commend her for making this part of the story! Baby Bayer and Sylvie will melt your heart. Highly recommend this book. The narrators for the audio are fairly new to me, despite being an avid audio book listener. They did a phenomenal job.

Miguel For President

A big shout out to the door man Miguel who has become a favorite secondary character. He was great when Anton had to hide. Also I love all the hair pins. Love them. I’m not really spiritual like that but I enjoyed that part of the story. Charlie was a lot but I can see her eventually evening out a bit. Silvie was such a great strong character. I also loved how Sarina Bowen reiterated the huge pay discrepancies between male & female players. Another great thing, I won’t spoil it but I like how something that is usually such a big deal was downplayed and left up to the woman to make on her own. When she wanted. How she wanted. It can be a big deal or not. Campos was ahhhghggg. Thankfully it ended on a good note.

Great listen

First...Patrick Zeller....WOW. His love scenes are so hot. First tome hearing him narrate a book. Loved him. Desiree was great to...but Patrick was fabulous.
The story was good and went fast. The progression from beginning to end was paced well and left no skipable parts...you know...when you need to fast forward because it drones on.
Got this on sale and it was worth it.
Thanks for an enjoyable afternoon listen!

Loved it!

I am a huge Sarina Bowen fan and this book was a great addition to the Brooklyn Bruisers series. Loved that woman's hockey got a bit of the spotlight in this book too. Hope the Bombshells get their own spin off series.

Cute

After a slow start, this book hooked me and I couldn't put it down! I really enjoyed it! Especially the last chapter- it's SO CUTE! I've been excited about this book since reading Bess's book, Sure Shot, and learning about her goals to improve supports for women hockey players!! I've been reading Bowen's hockey books in a strange order. I started with Becca's book (SO GREAT!), then Bess's brother's book, Bountiful (MY FAVORITE), Bess's book, Heidi's book, and now Sylvie's!!! Honestly, I love that you can read them in whatever order you want and they're still amazing!!

You meet a ton of exceptional secondary characters in this book, so I know there is more to come!! 🏒 I loved seeing Bess, Becca, and even Heidi's efforts finally come to fruition, and can't wait to see what else Sarina Bowen has in store for us!

the narrators are new to me, but it didn't take long to adjust to the new voices!! I actually really liked both of them! great story!

Bombshells

Women’s hockey team I love it!
I didn’t know what I was in for when I started this book and boy was I pleasantly surprised.
I really was hoping this wasn’t going to be a love triangle or second best kind of thing.
I like that it might have seemed one way but it the characters really did show who they wanted pretty much from the beginning.
Baby Bayer though he hates the name it so suits him, he is a love of the game and the lifestyle but if he really wants to show the head guys what he is made of he has to cut out some of the booze and women…. And in walks Sylvie.

Sylvie is still reeling from the loss of her mother, but her goalie career is starting to take off. She isn’t looking for lover per say her sights are set on her friend who they shared a connection with, but it has felt very one sided. She is hoping to change that. But she meets Anton aka Baby Bayer and sparks fly.

I also really enjoyed the realistic look at the differences in the male and female sports professions.
Loved the narrators too, they were perfect for these characters I love when that happens makes the listening experience that much more.

Great story and cast

The locker room scene with all the “foreign“ female products is hysterical!
Patrick Zeller is a new name for me and whew!, he has full command of the hot scenes. Both he and Desiree give an great performance and I’m only sad that the book has ended. Will there be sequels now for the Brooklyn Bombshells? I hope so!

Hot on the ice 🔥♥️

This is story of two players who love hockey.
The Brooklyn brothers has just started a new team called the bombshells which is their sister team. It’s going to be an amazing season.
Anton is the youngest in his family and has had a wild year almost lost his dream to play NFL hockey he had to clean up his act .
Sylvie is the back up goalie for the bombshells and she is hoist happy to be on the ice. She also thinks this is the year she will convince her crush that they should be together.
But fate steps in and Anton falls in love at first sight .
The two spend a lot of time getting to know each other and falling in love .
The two are sweet and Anton is a great friend.
I loved how the story didn’t shy away from the fact that the two League teams have very different pay scales.
There is humor ,sad and happy moments .
I love it I can’t wait to read/listen to more form the series.

Patrick Zeller, Desireé Ketchum did an amazing job narrating this story.

4.5 stars good story

I enjoyed this story, liked the characters and how they evolved and developed, and great narration too. The only reason for not being 5 stars is I save that for books that utterly sweep me away, whereas this one was a good solid book instead.

Wow

This was a great read and so funny. I loved the banter between the two and the funny words they came up with to explain situations. She knew before him that they loved each other. He took a little bit longer. It took and accident on the ice for him to get it together. Loved the banter between team mates an family. Just awesome.
Narration was awesome too.
