Publisher's Summary
Brought to you by Penguin.
One month. Two rivals. A plot twist they didn't see coming....
Nora is a cut-throat literary agent at the top of her game. Her whole life is books.
Charlie is an editor with a gift for creating best sellers. And he's Nora's work nemesis.
Nora has been through enough break-ups to know she's the woman men date before they find their happy-ever-after. That's why Nora's sister has persuaded her to swap her desk in the city for a month's holiday in Sunshine Falls, North Carolina. It's a small town straight out of a romance novel, but instead of meeting sexy lumberjacks, handsome doctors or cute bartenders, Nora keeps bumping into...Charlie.
She's no heroine. He's no hero. So can they take a page out of an entirely different book?
Set over one sizzling August, Book Lovers is the new chemistry-filled 'rivals to lovers' rom-com from New York Times number one best seller Emily Henry.

Not a fan!
Really not a fan of these books. They’re so super chiche and predictable! May be good for a teen ?!

Repetitive
I found the first couple of chapters interesting, but then became bored. Could not take to the characters or romantic scenes - found them to be cringy.

Great Light Listen
For those who want a light enjoyable read, this book is for you. If it would have made me cry or at least skip a beat, I would have given 5 stars.

a safe and cosy romance with books
really enjoyed that there are not any horrible relationships or major bully style banter/games in this story just complicated lives and love :) set in comfortable countryside and busy cityside (partly) it's for a bit of everything I wanted. also really appreciate that there is representation of both motherhood and non motherhood! unusual in a romance where happy endings abound with tiny feet and rarely consider life without- happily this had both! enjoyable and mildly tear jerking but nothing aimed to really 'wound' the reader. also a nice change from recent reads where I'm convinced authors want to poke their characters and readers with emotional harpoons till nowt left! not here, read on with safety!

A brilliant book!
My first Emily Henry book and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Julie Whelan is the queen of audiobook narration.
I may have just found my first book boyfriend in Charlie!
Listen to this and enjoy the escapism of a well thoughtout contemporary romance fiction title.

Very predictable
I know romance novels tend to be predictable but this one made it a bit boring. Its an easy listen but you dont really feel for any of the characters as they are not that likeable

More than enough 15/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is an incredible and wonderfully written slow burn, hilarious Romcom.
It has exquisite sexual tension and reaches out to all us book lovers on so many levels.
As one of the lines from the book says "I lived this book" and it touched my soul.
I haven't laughed so much from the very first page and then it grabs your heart, rings you out literally and figuratively, and leaves you with the worst book hangover!
I'm not into epilogues but this one was sublime. Emily has become my new favourite author! 😍
The narration is sublime too!

Loved it, loved it, loved it!
I liked Nora from the first pages, and I cannot stress enough how important it was that she and Charlie were so compatible as a couple.
Not only do they have physical attraction and hilarious interactions, but also similar worldviews and aligned goals. I can easily imagine them in their 50', sitting in their NY apartment, laughing over some wordplay.

I loved everything about this book.
This is my first Emily Henry book and I’ll definitely be reading them all.
I loved everything about this book, the author, the characters, the narrator, the humour.
I found myself spontaneously laughing out loud a couple of times, even though it wasn’t really a humorous book. Some of the characters
comments I just found so witty.

Wow
I cannot succinctly explain how I feel about this book. I listened to it at the right time for me and lost sleep as every time I put it down I was still lost in the story. The clarity of production and the talent of the voiceover artist were perfect.
Emily Henry creates real, layered characters and interesting plots. This is the second one I’ve read. Congratulations on a book that provides insight, produces smiles and tears, encourages self reflection and was just at the right time. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

Fun!
I found this to be a fun and engaging romance! I’d argue that the predictability and clichés of the story were not too far removed from the tropes that the book somewhat mocks. I also found the terrible communication between all of the main characters highly frustrating at times but I realise this is used to build suspense and drama. I just can’t help but think peoples lives would be so much easier if they just talked to each other! But overall I enjoyed the story and I love Julie Whelan’s narration (I’ve listened to three books narrated by her and all are flawless).

All of the happy feelings
This book, along with all of Henry’s books, are a feel good time, always with a neatly wrapped ending with a wild emotional ride to get there. They are all fully formed characters who evolve together to earn their ending and that’s my favourite part of her writing.
The banter and quick wit makes it a hilarious story you can’t press pause on. I binged this book until 8am so I can’t recommend it enough.

I will be looking out for the Film or TV Series of Book Lovers by Emily Henry
I live in Sydney Australia and the exquisite writing and telling of stories and places, made me want to finally fulfil the dream of travelling to experience New York for the first time. Beautifully written and I had to continue listening at every opportunity I could. (aka, could not put the book down!!)

The last page ache.
"The last-page ache. The deep breath in after you've set the book aside." Sums it up perfectly. This book really lived up to the hype, amazing enemies to lovers romance but with such a strong sense of family through the whole thing. I loved Nora's brutal honesty throughout the novel and her fierce bond with Libby was a powerful backbone to the book. I found my self laughing out loud at the quick witted comments between Nora and Charlie. I really loved this book and the performance by Julia Whelan was phenomenal, she kept me glued to the audiobook.

Normally a big fan of Emily Henry but...
I really didn't enjoy this book at all. I found all the characters rather unbearable and the story repetitive and anticlimactic.
Really unfortunate as I loved the other books by Emily this one just aint it.
