Publisher's Summary

Lucy has finally found her bliss as a librarian and resident of the Bodie Island Lighthouse. She loves walking on the beach; passing her evenings with the local book club; bonding with the library cat, Charles; and enjoying the attention of not one but two eligible men.

But then her socialite mother, Suzanne, unexpectedly drops in, determined to move Lucy back to Boston and reunite her with her ex-fiancé. To make matters worse, Suzanne picks a very public fight at the local hotel with her former classmate, Karen Kivas. So, when Karen turns up dead outside the library the next morning, Suzanne is immediately at the top of the suspect list. Now Lucy must hunt down a dangerous killer before the authorities throw the book at her poor mother.

Mispronunciation!

. Overall the book was entertaining. Until the last minute when the narrator mispronounced Mallorca! She pronounced the L. This is an irritant with orated books.

Delightful series

This second entry in the Lighthouse Library series is even better than the first. I look forward to new entries, which I hope will be numerous.

I suppose it's OK

I really wanted a library mystery. This is romance in which a librarian stars. She could just as easily be an insurance sales person considering the part this woman's work life plays in this book. Good for romance readers.

How can a Librarian mispronounce 'Library?'

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No. It's insipid.

Would you be willing to try another book from Eva Gates? Why or why not?

No. Unless it was free.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Elise Arsenault?

Anyone who can properly pronounce 'library.' Its not 'Lye-Berry!"

Do you think Booked for Trouble needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No.

Any additional comments?

Who produced this? Qualifications need to include knowledge of pronunciation. Perhaps also a dictionary?

Boring

Come on! can someone think of another better mystery book to write? this would be a good book if main character didn't sound like she was whining and complaining through some of the book.

Clever Ending

i enjoy this series, even though I've never kmown a cat as appealing as Charles, the library cat in these stories. There were a lot of red herring suspects in this episod, and a surprising villain.
