Jasper-Anne Cleary’s guide to salvaging your life when you find yourself publicly humiliated, out of work, and unemployable at 35 - not to mention newly single: 1. Run away. Seriously, there’s no shame in disappearing. Go to that rustic old cottage your aunt left you. Look out for the colony of bats and the leaky roof. Oh, and the barrel-chested neighbor with shoulders like the broad side of a barn. Definitely look out for him....

Story
At 18, I walked away from Willow Creek Valley for good. I was young, scared, and stupid, and it cost me the love of my life - Grayson Parkerson. Fourteen years later, a crash sends me back home to recover. Back to where we met, fell in love, and planned a future. Working at The Park Inn together gives us a chance to reconnect, and seeing him with his little girl makes me long for the days when he was mine. I’m not the girl I was - intimidated by his wealthy family and desperate to escape our small town. How can I convince him to give first love a second chance?

Story
We met in the least likely of places. It started out innocently enough. I was “ScreenGod”, and she was “Montana”, but of course those weren’t our actual names, just the virtual cloaks we hid behind. Logging in at night and talking to her was my escape - my sanctuary. Her real name was Eden, I’d soon come to find out. From the first time we connected online, I found myself transfixed. She was an addiction. At first, we knew nothing about each other’s real identities...and she was adamant that we keep things that way.

The feud between Weston Lockwood and me started at the altar. Only neither of us attended the wedding, and the nuptials happened decades before either of us was born. Our grandfathers had been best friends and business partners, at least up until my grandfather’s wedding day - when his bride-to-be blurted out she couldn’t marry him because she was also in love with Weston‘s grandfather.

I’ve always wanted the fairy tale wedding. Not for the princess perfect dress or big party, but for papa. My grandfather. The only father figure I’ve ever known. It’s his dying wish to walk me down the aisle. Gee, no pressure. But I can grant that wish. I just have to fake being head over heels in love with Ross Andrews, my best friend's big brother whom I embarrassingly crushed on all through high school. Handsome. Knockout sexy. Arrogant jerk extraordinaire. Our childish pranks and tit-for-tat battles were legendary.

As an NHL player, relationships haven't been my thing. Shrouded in secrecy and speculation, they never last very long. But then that's what happens when you require an NDA before the first date. Until Charlene. She's like a firefly. She's elusive, and if you catch her she'll burn bright, but keeping her trapped dulls her fire and dims her beauty. I caught her. And as much as I might want to keep her, I'll never put the lid on her jar. Not at the risk of losing her. So I've let her set the rules in our relationship.

Eight years ago, I gave Grayson Price a piece of my heart. To him, I was the strange girl whose mom had just abandoned her. To me, he was a savior, an anchor, someone who stood beside me on that beach. The next time I saw him, I was 20, and he was 36. He didn't remember me. And when he flirted...I didn't tell him. By the time he found out, it was too late. We tried to deny our desire, but our attraction was too enticing.

If people have polar opposites, Luca Rossi is mine. His butt is in the baseball hall of fame. Mine's comfortably seated in the hall of lame. When he's not snagging fly balls out in center field, he's modeling in shampoo commercials. I once jammed my own finger while stirring cookie dough, and sometimes I forget shampoo is a thing. He's a total cynic when it comes to love. I make a living writing love stories. But after my latest broken engagement (no, I don't want to talk about how many times that's happened), it's clear he's exactly the man I need.

It all started with a mysterious blue note sewn into a wedding dress. Something blue. I’d gone to sell my own unworn bridal gown at a vintage clothing store. Stitched into the lining of a fabulously feathered design was the loveliest message I’d ever read: Thank you for making all of my dreams come true.

A new standalone novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author, Vi Keeland. The night I met Drew Jagger, he'd just broken into my new Park Avenue office. I dialed 9-1-1 before proceeding to attack him with my fancy new Krav Maga skills. He quickly restrained me, then chuckled, finding my attempted assault amusing. Of course, my intruder had to be arrogant. Only, turned out, he wasn't an intruder at all. Drew was the rightful occupant of my new office. He'd been on vacation while his posh space was renovated.

Publisher's Summary
He’s a beast in the spreadsheets and a boss in the bedsheets.
Mr. Santillian,
Despite the fact I'm currently living out of your guest room and sleeping with you most nights, I am writing to announce my resignation, effective two weeks from today.
In other words, I'll locate someone who is both obscenely overqualified and willing to devote their days to the handful of tasks you are able to wrench from your perfectionist, micromanaging grip. It may be difficult to find a Nobel laureate genius looking for basic filing work on such short notice, but I'll do my best.
Don't worry about your sister's wedding this weekend. I still plan to attend as your date, assuming you've finished hating me by then.
Thank you in advance for your understanding.
Zelda
Ms. Besh,

So much more than the title would suggest
What a great book. Fully fleshed out, complex, likeable characters actually behaving like real, rational adults in a serious relationship and maybe the most adorable “how we first met” story ever. Steamy in parts and a satisfying conclusion. Everything a good romance novel should be. Don’t be misled by the title, this not an office romance/boss-secretary trope novel. This book is so worth a credit.

Quirky, sexy
This was an enjoyable and easy-going listen. None of the drama is too angsty and its resolved in normal, human ways. As someone who also barely survived a verbally and emotionally abusive relationship and quickly found someone who wanted to take care of and support me, I like how Zelda is portrayed.

more than it seems
Im not sure what I expected going into this story but I was wonderfully surprised. This story had way more depth and dimension to it than the blurb suggest. Ash and Zelda were a perfect match. I loved that she was strong and vulnerable and open with flaws. I loved watching/hearing Ash go through his processes. His POV really added layers. The narration was great. Jason Clarke was just everything and could of carried the whole book. Perfect balance of story and romance and sexy time.

Amazing storytelling, and perfect narration!
I absolutely loved this story! I was hooked from the very first word to the very last! Ash and Zelda are perfect! They both have fun personalities on their own, and together their chemistry and connection are undeniable!
I love that Zelda refuses to back down from what she knows is best. Seeing her stick up for herself and go after what she needs was fantastic! I love that she challenged Ash, but she also supported him when he needed it. And Ash is book boyfriend perfection. He is loving and supportive. He really listens and supports Zelda, and he is freaking HOT! I don't just mean his description is attractive, his whole personality is on fire! These two together are perfect!
The narration for this story is perfection. Not only did the narrators have great voices, they really became the characters and brought all the emotions this story holds. I know this is a book I will be listening to over and over. Definitely worth the credit I spent!

Hot, hot, hot!!
Kate Canterbary writes a sex scene like nobody’s business. She gives me shivers. And Jason Clarke narrated the crap out of those scenes all growly male and alpha vibes. I had to fan myself multiple times. The best thing is you get these amazing sex scenes with an amazing story as well.
This is a standalone, but you do get moments of hearing or seeing about some of the other characters, such as Magnolia whom we all know from the Walsh series as well as the Magnolia Chronicles.
I loved getting to see more of the Santillan family, especially the mom. I love a bunch of hippy parents. Ash is this brooding male, with a serious type A personality. But the best part is he is a completely different guy in the bedroom and I am here for it all. Take me anyway you want.
Zelda is the the perfect wild child organizer he needs. It is somewhat instant attraction and when it finally happens. Fireworks exploded all over the book.
I’m just going to say there is a shower scene that has to be read, but really just listen. Because Jason Clarke. That is all. Emma Wilder also did a great job and her man voice is so hot. I forget it’s a female reading it. Loved this book so much.

couldn't finish
firstly I was pit off by the blurb for this book and the title but when I started listening I was pleasantly surprised and convinced I was going to like it.
However after a couple of hours the female characters constant internal dialogue just drove me made. I don't think the female narrator helped but it was a struggle to follow the story at times. I gave up in the end

insta-love with no substance
I had to stop this half way through as I just couldn't deal with the unnecessarily raunchy scenes every other chapter. I don't mind a bit of action in my books but other than the constant sex and the male protagonist becoming obsessed with someone he met a few days before, there was just no substance which was a real shame.
the plus side was the great narration

Awesome characters but
Really loved the characters and plot, but i wish the characters kept their fire and behaviour from the first chapter to the end. I wished it was the male narration throughout as Emma's voice was lacking passion and colour. The whole book was far too short with no point of climax

Loved it
This is the first time I have read this author and I loved it. A real pleasurable easy listen. Well written and a great story. Jason Clarke was amazing, he has a wonderful voice. The only thing that I disliked was his term of endearment by calling her love, this seemed extremely out of place and did not sound right.
I will be reading more of this author and definitely be listening to books narrated by Jason Clarke.

Funny, sweet and sexy
I LOVED Boss in the Bedsheets. It was funny, sweet, and very sexy with just the right amount of drama. I love a good opposites attract story, and Ash and Zelda are like chalk and cheese, with Ash being the grumpy and very growly micromanaging accountant, and Zelda the more free spirited, go with the flow archaeologist who is going to change Ash's perfectly ordered life.
There was so much I loved about Ash, how grumpy and growly he was but he showed his sweet side very quickly with Zelda. Whenever he called Zelda 'love', so sweet! AND he's a bossy growly man in the bedroom. Meeting Ash was completely unexpected for Zelda. Prepared to start her life over in a new location, she was not prepared at all for Ash and the intense attraction that flared between them.
Some of my favourites scenes in this story involved Ash's just a little bit crazy family. They added plenty of humour to the storyline, with their determination to 'keep' Zelda, and also to involve her in Magnolia's wedding. My favourite family member would have to be Diana - Ash's mum was a real nut, but she made me smile so many times throughout this story. Great read, loved it.
I read this when it was first released, but once the audio became available I couldn't resist buying it as well - the 2 narrators are on my favy list, and they performed the characters perfectly.

Loved it!
Kate Canterbary has definitely become an author I will automatically choose to purchase a new release from. Stories are always a little different to what you expect, but in a great way. I loved the main characters and the interactions with his family. Limited anyst. Great narrators! Definitely worth the credit!

Disappointed
This is poorly written. There is no storyline or direction.. There was nothing exciting and was more or less them going to work, attending a wedding, eating an egg sandwich. I am disappointed

Worst book I have ever read
This book was so bad i have to admit I couldnt finish it. I think I got less than a quarter of the way in.
Extremely bad story line with no build up. The Characters literally meet on a plane one day and think they know each other inside out. And verbally say this to each other from the moment they meet.
So much monologue. Again literally explaining each and every thought in their mind, get to the story already.
I would have turned this down if I was the narrators. I would not want this associated with my name it was so badly written. Worst book I have ever attempted to read.

Surprising and enjoyable
I took a chance on this based on male narrator and other reviews - glad I wasn't turned off by the title. it is a nice modern love story, covering some funny dialogue, well fleshed out characters, and a serious issue. while the romance was super quick to start, and somewhat unbelievable, I liked how it was presented as the force of an undeniable "cellular connection" - where their cells knew and gravitated towards each other, over powering intellect explaining why someone shouldn't be right for them. despite control issues at work, ash was lovely male lead, showing that a truly strong male will always seek and respect the desires and opinions of his partner (well, he struggled with work part, but got there). male narrator did a great job as usual...not so keen on female. don't think she does a bad job...does male well, but her tone isn't my cup of tea.

he is just the right amount of dominant. I would listen to this book again and again. good suspense too
