Publisher's Summary

The islands of Britain and Ireland hold a rich heritage of plant folklore and wisdom, from the magical yew tree to the bad-tempered dandelion. Here are traditional tales about the trees and plants that shape our landscapes and our lives through the seasons. They explore the complex relationship between people and plants, in lowlands and uplands, fields, bogs, moors, woodlands and towns.

Wee Folk, Giants and Witches. Oh, My!

A wonderful reading of Botanical Folktales. It's full of stories of wee folks, giants and witches all related to plants both domestic and wild.

I was mesmerized. If you're a fan of British folklore and mythology, you will surely love this book.

I enjoyed these stories very much.

most of the tales were new to me so hearing them has broadened my folklore scope. And the narrator is pleasant as well as well versed in the languages of the ares.

cute and clever

I'd highly recommend this book for a car ride or for a bit of light reading the stories are well read and not too long. I found myself wanting for more information, well I guess I'm off to find a book on just that.

Ok narration

Would benefit from better local pronunciation, place names and Irish words such as uisce beatha are mispronounced

A weclome companion on walks through the country

This is a lovely set of tales, told by a soft voice that gently infiltrates your dreams should you find yourself listening at bedtime. There are stories for adults and children, so filter a little. They inspire a love of elemental nature and magic!

This book is adorable

The book itself is absolutely adorable; a particularly nice listen for the start of Autumn and I do recommend buying it because it is well worth it. Unfortunately, I found the performance terribly contrived to the point where I decided to give up listening, and just get the physical book instead

Botanical is what it's not.

Revamped fairy tales and nothing as interesting as where the plant names came from. Each tale drifted into the next and left no impression
