“You are the savior of mankind” are the last words I ever expected to hear while nibbling on fries. The thing is, I’m not mankind saving material. I don’t even have magic (and just found out it exists). I’m the most boring, normal(ish) human ever. Suddenly, I’m being tossed right into the middle of a fight that started years before I was even born, and then I get partnered up with Alastair, a quirky magical Guardian. He is rather attractive and sweet when he’s not into the whole “woe is me, I can’t let myself fall in love with you” nonsense.

Really good
I loved this book. It's full of the action and drama I was missing in the first book, the characters are well rounded and are able to adjust to what's going on around them. They are both lovely and the way the narrator portrays them is perfect. I didn't feel lost because the narration was spot on in many instances, which for this type of series is hard to do. Very good

Really enjoyed the second book in the Dragon King series by Debbie McQueen! It was very well written with excellent world building. Egan is one of my favorite fantasy characters and his story is engrossing. I really liked the narrator too, he was a new one for me and did a nice job!

Into the spotlight
Unlike many series, the second book here doesn’t drag a bit but is instead filled with a lot of content, action, and a fair amount of drama. Amid all the action and the revelations, Raiden and Egan grow even closer, with their fledgling feelings becoming a once-in-a-lifetime heart bond. The characters, their feelings, the various degrees of acceptance all combine into a wonderful story that appeals to more than just YA readers. I’m not fond about the cliffhanger at the end, but at least this time around I can dive right in to the next story. Talia Carver did a good job narrating the story and characters,so this is one I’ll be happy to repeat listen.

a dragon and his prince continues.....
Bound in Fire is Book 2 in the Dragon King series. This is an ongoing series and needs to be enjoyed in order. With war upon them, prince Raiden, Egan, and warriors from their realm and the third realm ready themselves for battle against those from the fifth realm. Raiden and Egan grow closer as the spend more time together. They are just the sweetest. I love their special connection, with Egan in and out of dragon form. They're made to be together. I love the gift Egan gives to Raiden before going into battle, just perfect. This is such an enjoyable book and by the end I was ready to dive into the next one. I can't get enough of this world. Definitely recommend.
Narrator Talia Carver does an amazing job in bringing these characters to life.

Great book
This is the second book in the series and it starts where the first one ended. I'm really enjoying the series. I like the characters and I like the world too. This book was mostly focused on the relationship between Raiden and Egan. I liked the development, they were very sweet together. There was a scene during the battle that really surprised me. The book ends with a cliffhanger and I'm going to start the next one right away. Also, I loved how the narrator voiced the characters.

I love this series!
I really love this series Raiden and Egan are so sweet and supportive of each other. I love how the king is supportive of Raiden and just wants him to be happy. The whole process of getting ready for battle and fighting was too short to be realistic, but it fits a YA storyline. The story has very little real drama or angst, it's mostly just a sweet, engaging story. I loved the way Tarrock turned out to not be as much of an ogre as he initially seemed. I loved the way he and Egan each made an effort to connect and make amends. There is a big of a soft cliffhanger that leads into the next book. I can't wait.
The narrator was new to me. It was a good job with unique voices. I liked how Raiden and the king sounded similar (to my ears anyway), just like you might expect from a father and son.
I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

I enjoyed the story and seeing the two leads save the day and find acceptance for every part of themselves. It does end on a cliffhanger, bit the next book is available, so that's not a huge deal. Interesting world building, fun read.

Love this m/m fluffy dragon romance!
I absolutely love this series, and this next volume doesn't disappoint! how wonderful to have a Prince fall in love with a male peasant, who also happens to be a dragon?? YES!
This volume adds danger and excitement to the story, and the cliffhanger had me freaking out, in a good way!
The narrator was really good, I'm glad the author kept the same narrator, I hate when it changes. they did great with the emotional scenes. But I have to say I didn't like the voice effect they used for speaking in dragon. It actually annoyed me a bit, but otherwise a good narrator, needs more experience with different voices, especially the minor side characters.

WOW...simply WOW! After reading book 1 this become one of my favorite series to read and reread, and an audiobook is just perfect for that. Talia Carver really got the essence of the characters and managed beautifully the interactions between Egon and Raiden and both the heartwarming moments and the action-packed scenes. An epic book about honor, loyalty, love ... and dragons. So good!

The story continues and love blooms
Story: Bound in Fire continues the story of Raiden and Egan as they prepare for war and explore their growing feelings for one another.
As in her first novel, McQueen spends a lot of attention to the smaller, everyday interactions between the two main characters. This story is more about the dynamics of Raiden and Egan's relationship, than an epic fantasy adventure.
It is interesting to see how both young men face the challenges and emotions that come with preparing for battle, when you could lose the one you love.
If you like sweet love stories set in a fantasy world, with a mild bit of jeopardy that is tempered with happy feels, then the Dragon King series is for you.
Audiobook: Narrator, Talia Carver has found their rhythm and as a result the voices in Bound in Fire are more consistent and recognisable.
As before, they give a clear narration and let the story take centre stage. The relationship between the central characters is conveyed really well.

War is upon them
I finished book one of the series and thankfully was able to jump straight into book 2 - because I was hooked and needed more.
Things are ramping up for Raiden and Egan. War is coming and they need to step up and face Tarjak - ruler of the Fifth Realm. Not the kind and benevolent ruler than Raiden’s father King Rodick is - Tarjak is in it for the power and the riches.
The story continues straight on from book 1, and I was just as hooked as I was on that. I can’t wait for more from these characters.
The narration, like book 1, is enjoyable. Not a narrator I’ve listened to before - but one I would happily listen to again.
