Story
Managing cybersecurity requires a multi-disciplinary holistic business approach. Many of the current cybersecurity approaches in organizations and most books are based on an outdated 1991 model of cybersecurity - focused solely on technology solutions. This book provides the 2014 model and shows why leadership engagement of people within an organization is critical for success. Culture development through leadership is essential because culture governs behavior.

He thinks a fictitious character on an old TV show is his dad, and he just has a general way of ruining things for other people while remaining blissfully unaware.

Positioning Oneself for Success in Today's Economy
A perfect marriage of storytelling, personal triumphs, and socio-economic revelations that continue to distinquish between the haves and the have-nots. Dr. Mansur has a soothing, rhythmic voice that manages to keep his audience in a calm state of mind that is bound to result in a "yes we can" (can-do-attitude) vs. that of doom and failure. Topics and industries span the global market economy. One section that discussed employer-employee exploitation, reminded me of my graduate school days in Montreal, Canada, at McGill Univerdity, as an Economic Geography major, discussing immigration policies, freelance work trends, outsourcing, and corporate greed. Know your worth and bring it out.
In this book, Dr. Hasib talks about becoming great by helping others reach their true greatness. He teaches us how to bring out the inner greatness in all of us. The book explains that the only way to become truly great is by helping others reach their true greatness. You must first understand yourself before going to others. Your worth propel the value of what you are and what others see in you. The value you bring to an organization and its customers is what makes them value you. Dr. Hasib is a passionate believer in helping people reach their full potential. As a living witness, I can attest to the support I receive from Dr. Hasib. Through his books, I can connect with others who are striving to reach their full potential. This book will uplift and encourage you to reach your full potential by making you know your worth and bringing it out. Thanks Dr. Cybersecurity for the audible version.

A true guide for enabling your highest potential.
I have waited to give a review so I can cover the audio book several times and apply the information that is mentioned in the book. This book is narrated very well and Dr. Hasib has a very soothing voice. The information is relevant to all fields, but I had a better relation to his guidance because we are both in Cyber Security. I covered this book several times because I would listen to the parts that were relevant for a current situation, such as I would listen how to negotiate offers or opportunities while I was being contacted for jobs or events.
Since listening to his book, I have made large leaps in my career. I have been able to transfer and promote internally to my company, I was a featured speaker for a Keynote event, and I am endlessly contacted for job offers. I have also helped other mentees grow as well. You may not grow in a day or week, but if you apply these principles you will grow in no time. I feel that Dr. Hasib has a wide range of knowledge and you can trust the information he provides. I also hold his other book in high regards, Cybersecurity Leadership, but I own the physical book not the audible book.

Changed My Life
I just finished the Audible version of Dr. Mansur Hasib's (#DrCybersecurity) book Bring Inner Greatness Out. It was transformative. I have searched for what I want to be when I grow up (whenever that's going to happen) my entire life. My childhood dreams took me to flying, which was awesome. Then I had a family, and my priorities changed. So I went into cybersecurity. I got an MBA and studied for CISSP. But I did middle management in the Air Force and I can't stand meetings (especially when they could be emails, or emails that could be text messages #millenial). Ok, cool story, Josh. Where are you going with this?
I have been teaching for about 3 years now. I started while I was in the Air Force, teaching Introduction to Special Operations at the Air Force Special Operations School. Other than the flying aspects, I was learning a lot of it as I was teaching. Nothing is that complicated, so it all comes down to teaching ability, which anyone can learn if they care to. I like it. So, when I got out of the military in 2020 and chanced my way into teaching cybersecurity, I hit the jackpot, although I didn't realize it for a few months (or a year #whatever).
I love teaching. I do something cool and then help other people do it, too. My specialty is offensive cyber, hacking, pentesting, threat emulation, whatever you want to call it. I learned a lot of my technique from YouTube and reasonably-priced, amazing online courses. I'm not as handsome as those guys, but I get what they're doing. I teach it in my classes. Maybe I can put together some Youtube videos of the stuff I'm doing. So, I made a YT channel .
I also started posting relevant resources I've used for certification, getting a job, transitioning out of the military, or just learning more stuff to be better at my job. People seem to dig it.
Then I read Dr. Mansur Hasib's Bring Inner Greatness Out . Ok, I listened to it on audiobook (but you can read it). And I realized that I have a brand. I have a brand whether I mean to or not. When people think of my name, they think of something (hopefully good things #needy). So, if there's going to be a brand either way, am I controlling it? Am I utilizing my brand the way I want to? Does my brand hold value? Am I valuing it properly, myself? What am I giving away for free? Am I devaluing my brand? What is the effect of my brand in the ecosystem? These are all the questions I asked myself while going through the book. Dr. Mansur Hasib shared personal stories and experiences from his career and his students and mentees. That part really put into perspective the realities of my brand.
This has helped me solidify many of my choices and make decisions for my near future. It has helped me be more purposeful in my LinkedIn posts and my YouTube channel going forward.
If you are creating content in any format (even if you're coming up with your own ideas at your job), then you need to start thinking about your brand and what you're doing with it. Go get this book. It's super reasonably priced and well worth your time to get direction, inspiration, and solid advice from a leader and mentor.

A book to be re-read 👍
Thank you Dr Hasib

An outstanding book to improve your personal brand
I really love this book. It is informative and easy and simple to understand. I bought the kindle version for myself and then Dr Mansur Hasib kindly provided me with the Audible version for free.
This book is helpful for people who want to improve. It starts off by making you think about what your values are, then goes more into what is your personal brand, why do you need a personal brand then goes through how to build your personal brand.
I particularly like how it covers practical examples which I have followed. Communication skills is a weakness of mine and a section in this book recommended joining Toastmasters to improve in this area. I recently joined my local Toastmasters club and have just completed my first icebreaker.
This book also made me think about myself and how I want to be presented. It talks about your values and how it affects your brand. Plus, it also suggests how to use your personal brand and ensure that you are consistent between your social media accounts and LinkedIn and your cv.
Finally, I want to talk about the author. I am familiar with Dr Mansur Hasib since I work in cybersecurity and he wrote an excellent book on cybersecurity leadership about 10 years ago. He is very approachable, and he wants to help people to improve. He was the narrator for the audible version and the pace of the book was excellent, it allowed me to think about the words as well as listen to them. An outstanding book.

Discover Yourself with this book.
I will not rate the success of this book with words like "The best book ever" because this book brought to me much more than that. If you are lost amidst the competition of performing better than others in terms of numbers, this book is for you. What we have been graded on up till now has nothing to do with what can be achieved with our own values, because that inner greatness is still waiting to be discovered within us. Simplicity of words used to deliver a great message like this is the true beauty of this book. My two important takeaways from this book are:
1. Greatness is a choice.
2. The pursuit for greatness never ends.
And what's more? Riding on the journey of defining our own personal brand with Dr. Mansur Hasib himself.

listen to it and then again
I loved this book it made me think about things in a different way, a way in which previously I had felt guilty thinking that way.
I listened to it once then digested it and am now listening again.

A powerful book for employees in business..
This is a fantastic book for anyone in business who is starting to notice their ability as a Subject Matter Expert in what they do.
The book lays out an infrastructure for anyone to use to be able to put themselves out there as experts who add real value to the businesses that they work with and also allow them to make themselves less dependant on one source of income from an employer... which I really believe is a very important aspect to understand in this dynamic work environment that we find ourselves in.
It's well worth a read.
