Publisher's Summary

The unthinkable has happened.

The world goes dark. Technology is lost.

An EMP attack takes out the power grid putting 200 hundred miles and a dangerous crew of hired assassins between former police detective Sam Wallace and his family. Sam knew this assignment could be dangerous, but now he has to protect the witness and fight his way back home to his family without transportation and technology.

Lauren Wallace is 100 hundred miles from home, picking up Sam’s son, Charlie, at the airport when the lights go out. Her elderly parents need and rely on her every day, and as the day wanes and darkness approaches, she and 13-year-old Charlie have to fight their way home.

Brink of Darkness is book one in the high-octane, post-apocalyptic EMP survival thriller series Survive the Collapse.

Kevin Pierce

Look. Can we be honest here…? At a certain point, I’ve listened to practically everything that Kevin Pierce has narrated and that’s why I buy the book.

He can turn anything in to something worth listening to. He’s an artist in his own right. I’ll probably buy the next book in this series because he’s the one reading it.

I’ve signed up for 2 credits a month from Audible for the past several years. Over 90% of the books I’ve bought are narrated by him. Anything else I buy is doomed to suck. I basically sort his most recent works and am disheartened to see that it is already in my library. 😩 Kevin get to work and pump out 3-4 per month please.

Bottom line, anything he reads is worth listening to because he is the voice of the apocalypse. I hope he’s got a Bug Out Location at this point. I know I’ve certainly funded (through the 150+ purchases) a month’s worth of supplies.

In my opinion, the best authors of this genre are: Franklin Horton, Tom Abrahams, A American (early works), AJ Newman (Pearce reads), some of Ryan Show and LL Akers, Kirkham/Ross/Fullman, Glen Tate 299 Days series, BOYD 4.5 hr per book CRAVEN (he’s a credit hog, but worth it), religious Mark Goodwin (His faith doesn’t bother me), William Fortschen, some CA Rudolph, and RE McDermott.

I hope you like this review because I gave you some bad ass authors to listen too. A few hundred hours I’d say. I envy you.

man that talks about Kevin Pierce being the best

you are absolutely right I have every single audiobook he's ever made yeah that's right I purchased every single audiobook with his name attached to it if Kevin Pierce and his name is attached to that book you know I'm buying it. I don't care who wrote it if Kevin Pierce is reading it he can turn it into a book that it's worth listening to he is hands down the greatest narrator of Our generation. I really hope he doesn't stop reading these great apocalyptic books but also check out his true crime books he does those as well and they're amazing he makes you feel like you know the person it's like you know him because his voice is so familiar there's someone in our life there's always someone in our life that has that voice that comforting voice there's just something about if you hear Kevin Pierce his voice you know everything's going to be just fine unless you're one of the characters in the books he's voice everyone knows from someone in their life there's a voice that sounds like Kevin Pierce. it's hard to explain but when I hear Kevin Pierce I can just get comfortable and listen to the book and I don't get bored ever I can go through a book of his in the day if I have free time of course nowadays it's hard to find free time but when I get the free time the narrator of all time Kevin Pierce I'll search for one of his books that he's narrated and I listen to it specifically all the way through. and yes all the authors he's mentioned are all amazing authors and just so you know audible seems to be deleting books from people's libraries but they're still considered purchased and you still can look them up and say in your library but you can't find it and if anyone else having that problem you can still listen to him but you got a really hunt them down and you better remember which ones you have cuz you don't know I have over a thousand audio books I have 1,137 audiobooks so that's hard to remember each name and audiobook so I had to start writing everything down and noticing that I have 20 missing books and two of them are Kevin Pierce books and it's very upsetting and I had to hunt them down manually and I found them but I can download them but they're not showing up in my downloaded list not showing up in my library list of books but they're there they says in my library but they're just not showing up I don't know if it's audible getting cheap and trying to take their books back and trying to make us buy them twice but if that's the case hit me up if you want to know another audiobook site that has even more audiobooks and has plenty of Kevin Pierce audiobooks because audible to start playing this game where they steal our crap it's time to move to another platform cuz who's going to steal what we pay for is bull audible either stop your crap or people are going to be leaving your platform like crazy cuz I'm going to tell you everybody about this new platform called scribd. amazing have the best audiobooks you can think of lots of post-apocalyptic books and books that are not on audible and they don't take your books and steal them and then say you never bought them or steal the books you have and then say oh they're in your library you just can't find them or oh crap we have an error and you're never going to get the book back all this crap that I like to pull on everybody it's just turning into a big crap fest here in audible and audible won't do anything to help you they just lie to you but besides that I digress other authors should find out how to sell their books on their own websites as well I'm hoping that all of the post-apocals out there will start coming out with websites that we can buy the book through their website so that we don't have to come through audible anymore because they're stealing our books and then they're making us buy them multiple times

how the world turn evil

very good EMP story and like always humans are the most dangerous thing, how people turn into beasts is amazing... it is not an easy book to read or in this case to listen and we can only hope that Sam will get home to his wife

EMP hits the US

Typical post apocalypse survival story with great characters and a wonderful narrator in Kevin Pierce. Could be a tutorial on what issues you need to be prepared for when the crap hits the fan. Can’t wait till next installment.
